What day of the week for this series to race on

ANNOUNCEMENT​

Thanks for the tunes JP. I'm going to help the FF's out again. Each car will have 20kgs added to the respective weights. That means the Civic will be 865 kgs, the Golf will be 1000 kgs, and the Miata will be 920 kgs. This is before success ballast addition.

Points are now up as are success ballast info for this Saturday's round. See second post.

That should help. Anyone tuning/driving the FF's, stick the ballast in the trunk.:sly:
 
to allow the civic to adjust the weight balance without nerfing it compared to the other cars
 
hmm I'm not going to have time to adjust the car to the new spec's, :dunce: cnd01, you will have to remind me to adjust the car when I get into the room,
 
If all cars have weight added equally, their acceleration/deceleration and cornering grip will all be affected slightly but equally. However, throwing weight into the trunk of the Civic or VW will help it rotate and make it more driveable.
 
ah ok so this adding of weights is to help performance, I don't get to involved in the set up's, I just made a good base set up and left it from there, I was ok with the rotation of the car last race,

wouldn't 1000KG in the VW make it really difficult to drive?
 
The extra weight is to give the FF's a little more ballast to be stuck in the rear of the car to help it rotate through the corners so that it can keep up with the Miata.

The VW would actually drive better with a lot of ballast in the trunk, same as most FF's after the 2.09 update. If I were tuning it to a PP level for some other purpose, I'd probably start with at least 100kgs of junk in the trunk and go from there. Tuning options just don't work like they did pre-2.09, note the extreme settings of the tunes I posted. The car would be undrivable in real life, in GT5 it's barely affected:crazy::crazy:

Im saving my money and getting a gaming pc and then im getting rid of my ps3 and going to I Racing.. if I had a good wheel for xbox I would go back to forza .....GT BLOWS!!!!!!!!!! I wish I had never wasted the money on this set up:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

It is what it is. I still really enjoy GT5. I'm not going to Forza because Xbox Live costs money, plus red rings of death happen much more often then yellow line of death.

Haha...I feel your anger, but the fact remains GT5 still has dozens, upon dozens, upon dozens of good handling, tunable cars, suitable for track racing. Hundreds really, and far more than anyone else. May not have all the coolest cars in the world, but you can't knock the selection.

yes you do pay for it but you get so much more and they dont keep f..king it up..as for red ring the new ones dont have that prob like they used to not to mention I have a 2nd gen that i got for free that had the rrod it was a easy and cheap fix that cost me less than 25$ to fix and it has been going strong for over 2yrs and is still used by my wife and kids...I switched to ps3 for just gt5 and it was great but in the last 2mo they done nothing but screw it up to the point that I can make any adj I want and still run the same time ..I want realism that is why I switched now its no where close like JP said the tune he came up with would never wrk on real world cars

that is gt5's prob they rely on num of cars to sell the game but most are duplicates...I dont need 1500 cars I dont use

You're right. Every week or so for the last few weeks we've become GT6 physics beta testers.
 
There's only one update I would like to see and that's engine braking, I get annoyed at having to tap the brakes for corner's a slight lift would get you through, it ruins my rhythm, and annoy's me to the point I want kick the cat and shave the kangaroo!
 
I don't think I'm going to make today's race guy's, if I'm online when the room gets put up then I will but if you don't see me online then I'm no where near home, have a good one if I miss it,

Got home about 20 minutes ago to turn on the idiot box and no signal from PS3l!! Checked the PC and no signal!! :grumpy: Fiddle farted around with the HDMI inputs, moving them around, rebooting the PC and PS3 and nothing worked. Last possible thing was to turn the tv off and on, which I never would have guessed would work...and it did!!!!:drool:

So I should make it...lol...👍

Great. There are 5 of us already in the room. Qualifying starts in 10 minutes.
 
Good race today fellas and congrats on the win Cnd. Was pretty much nose to tail the entire race and lots of fun.

I'd like to tip my hat to Polar though, wow Dudel, you are one fast alien driver!!:crazy:. My best practice lap was a 1:39.9. I think my Q lap was 1:40.0 or something close to that. My best lap in the race was 1:41.1 and Cnd's was 1:41.0 even with the draft. But in chasing Cnd and I down late in the race, somehow Polar manage to pull of a, are you ready for this?:

1:36.9!!:confused:

Polar, would you be so kind as to enlighted us mere mortals what alien powers you used lay down a lap 3.1 seconds faster than anyone in the field and without the benefit of the draft? Perhaps we could learn something from you...:bowdown::bowdown:

Rallycross style! To be honest, I was quite surprised that I stuck the landing as well as I did. For some reason my two replies to that haven't gone through, but... Yea, I got bored being 7.1 seconds behind, so I fixed that :P if I got past either of you guys, I would've waited at the line and finished 3rd.

Yea, I have. Practicing ideas for a rallycross series I almost made.

Cnd pulled the same thing in my series later last night too.
 
I'll probably be gone fishing again next weekend and won't make the race. I suspect the tunes I posted for GP/D should work for Madrid but I use the word "work" lightly...lol. I think the Civics will have a hard time with all the tight corners there.

After many unforeseen events, i can probably makeout that i wont be making anymore than one race this entire series, when i signed up i originally had saturdays free, but one thing lead to another and now i dont. CND, if u want to; just erase my name off of the championship list cause i wont be a factor at all. I will however continue to look at the standings and watch whats going on. have a good day everyone
 
I'm going to try the Golf, but I'm going to have a Miata on standby just in case.
