What is a respectable time on Grand Valley East (reverse)? I figured out how to tune my engine and got 1:32:709 on third try. Compared to 1:45 with untuned engine...

Best: 1:32:499

If you can push it below 1:31 you are doing great :)

I ran 5 laps the other night, with a 12hp motor (still not fully broken in). I was consistently in the very low 1.31s. I think the racing will be incredibly close since there is really only one turn that requires any lifting/braking. The rest should be a hold your line, draft fest...very tight racing with lots of passing on the straights.

I know you guys are hitting 13hp, but what about PP? I have over 350 miles on my kart, and was just now able to rebuild the motor. Still sitting at 12hp though and 398PP. About 100 or so of those miles were run online with tire wear off which I don't think counted. Still not sure why I am not hitting 13hp though.

12 hp and 398pp is max performance for the jr kart :)

Anyone around for some practice races today or tonight? Would like to do some drafting to set gears for the race.

Nice one Jammy! Hopefully will have my kart totally broken in when I get home today and can do a couple laps.

Man! You guys are some speed demons. I don't have my kart fully broken in (that lounge london track pause thing keeps timing out overnight), but I'm up to 390 pp and can only get 1:31.5. I'll be sure to draft behind you.

For Kart Space I, I'm thinking I won't count them, but in the event of ties in the points, they could be used as a tiebreaker. Anyone object to this?

Fastest lap is 1:29.873

But average times in 1:30.1**

Same times here. If you get everyting perfect you get below 1.30 but little mistake some where and you over 1.30.

My youngest son will at the wheel of OwensRacingBoys today. His name is Garret. He is running 30.6's now. ;)

Oldest will crew chief for him. Garret plays GT5 everyday almost and is truly pretty good. Needs to learn Racecraft and then he gets a real kart to race.

^Sounds good.

Race Specifics - Grand Valley East Reverse
-Black Tarmac and rumble strips are track. No other surfaces, whether hard or soft, are track.
- As this race will likely have pack racing, always be aware of those around you. I suggest setting the map scale to 1 so you can see close-up.

Room will be up within 10-15 minutes.

Is it open ?

Good racing today guys :)

lol my 4th 2nd place in a row now... Sure this means i must take the 1st place at the last race next week :)

Jammy > i watched the replay where we made contact, and you where about to overtake TrackBound on the inside, but he closed the door, which made you hit the grass, then when you hit the road again, you lost some grip, and hit me on the side, and it made me drive in the grass, and sadly made you spin all way round, i lost 2 sec to TrackBound, cause of that incident and could not catch him during the final 2 laps :(

Edit > Lancer any progress on the race results for today's race ? :)

I have not looked at the replay yet, but if I am at fault anywhere I will except a penalty. That whole incident surprised me as I had no intention of blocking or fighting for a position at that time. We ran nose to tail the three of use for so many laps I was content just finishing that way until the last turn and straight of lap 14. I would have been more than fine being in 2nd or 3rd for those last couple of laps because I knew I was a sitting duck if we stayed that way until the end. I was doing my best to stay in line with you guys to maximize the draft...certainly wasn't anything intentional on my part.

Regardless what the stewards decide, today was some of the most fun I have had racing in a while. These karts are a real blast. If the win sticks, it would mark my first real competitive win (based on quality and number of drivers).

On a side note, nice finish Garret. I am sure the old man couldn't be prouder.

I watched that lap 12 replay a handful of times. I may be biased, but I really see that as a racing incident and a product of bump drafting. The 3 of us had been sliding side to side in front of each other for several laps trying to keep those twitchy karts straight. I was coming off that right hander and moving to the far right like I had been doing for laps. I think Jammy got a run and our bumpers just hit enough to cause a problem. To be honest after a couple laps running nose to tail with you two I stopped looking in my mirror having confidence that our unspoken plan was to stay in line till the last lap. With that being said, if I am wrong then I will take the penalty without comment.

I watched the replay this morning. It appears to me that it was just a racing incident. TrackBound had a little lag right at that moment, and that was what ran Jammy into the grass. Results are final and will be posted sometime today.

Yes i have no reason to blame anybody it was just sadly race incident nothing more. No problem on my half. TrackBound and Willie everything is ok.

Good to hear that jammy, cause i know you are a very fair & clean driver :)

Thanks Jammy. I had a blast running with you guys and was looking forward to the mad drafting dash on the last lap with you and Willie. My first goal of racing is to be clean, competitive is second. With that said, running that close stuff can happen...just look at the pros. Just stinks your race was ruined.

Lancer, interesting you mentioned it looked like I was lagging. I have no idea if that is going on and my replay doesnt show that at all. In fact my replay shows me taking a very clean and smooth line. Hoping I am not having connection problems. Never really had a complaint about that.

It only happened that one time, naturally at the worst time possible. Nothing to really worry about.

Lancer are you doing a second season of Jr Karts? Maybe go 100's then a series of 125's?

Either way I'm in.

I too am interested in future karting seasons (if there was an evening time...otherwise it would be random based on schedule). The two races I have run in this group has been some of the most fun racing I have had with GT5. The caliber of drivers and the karts in general have just created some really close racing for laps on end.

Only 1 race left for the jr. Kart :(

Lancer > you should add 2-3 more tracks, small ones like Eiger, London etc

I was planning originally to run a 125cc series alongside this one, but I thought I wasn't going to get enough interest for one, let alone two. For next season I'll probably do both series together.
