Looking good with everything hooked up.

And a buttkicker is also a good futur purchase for GT5.

3D is a good choice II IVORBIGUN II .

Looking good! 👍 Must be happy now as ready for gt5 :)

Im quite impressed as it looks better than a Playseat, comfier too.
Does the wheel support flex any at all or is it fully stable?

Indeed it just needs a Buttkicker now :sly:

For the 5.1 dont go with Logitech, consider some all in one home cinema boxes like Sony / LG / Samsung
Ebay will have plenty bargins.

With the support bar on, the wheel support is very sturdy 👍

might just get a buttkicker next :)

Thats good that it doesnt flex.
So if a comparison was done comparing this to Playseat and Game Racer it looks like this has some advantages indeed. I like the more fuller height seat with better head support over the Playseat. Also the styling of the red and black of the seat matches greatly with G25/G27.

The only main downside I see then is both of those other cockpits offer more adjustability for the wheel section, like height and angle. This might not even be an issue for some users but having the adjustability is for others I guess.

The cockpit looks designed with G25/G27 in mind so how is it with a Fanatec wheel attached? It's here it might have some issues and lose points in a review and can Clubsport Pedals fit well onto this cockpit?

the pedal tray size is 45cm x 35cm (length x width) so Clubsport pedals would sit well with the GT Omega. I don't own a Fanatec wheel so hard to say. I think it would be best to hard mount the fanatec wheel on. drill two holes for the wheel mount. I heard the fanatec wheel clamp isn't really good.

My G25 works great with the GT Omega. has all the hard mounting holes and screws were provided.

The wheelmount flexes like 1mm when you put your whole weight on it (me +-70kg). But that should never happend when driving (or else you're sitting on the wheel which can be difficult to handle the car then).

I don't think the fanatec is a big problem. I consider buying one before GT5 gets out. I already highened my g25 a bit. I don't think it will harm my driving,...
But till i have put my hands on one i can't really say

Wow doesn't that look the business with the TV set up also. I wonder upto what size TV can be put on the monitor stand?

Nearly have enough money saved and will hopefully be ordering next week.:)

By the way strongly recommend a 5.1 surround sound. I've had my Sony surround sound system for over 5yrs now. I know you can buy these for less than ÂŁ100 these days. The thing is you don't need these very expensive amplifiers with DTS HD, Dolby True HD. My system outputs in 5.1 DD, DTS 5.1 and to be honest I can't tell the difference between mine and the very expensive set ups.

Worth also mentioning that the video from my PS3 is via HDMI but the sound is via optical cable to the optical in on my surround system.

my 32" LCD TV uses (200mm X 100mm) mounting size. The monitor stand also has (200mm X 200mm) and (400mm X 200mm) mounting holes. So you might fit a massive 42" screen on as long as it fit the mounting hole and GT Omega recommended for use under 30kg.

The new 42" 3D LED are quite light, about 16kg. So I'm sure it can fit on.

Out of curiousity but what are you planning on doing with the playseat?

Thanks for the answer about the monitor stand. Probably will be a 32" TV as I would prefer to keep my 40" Sony in my living room.

I gave my old playseat to my brother, as a birthday present. Felt bad giving him something second hand. But I did pay about ÂŁ400 for it last year. I bought the seat sliders too :ouch:

@*ibo* S3 Racer
Wanted to ask you if you were still modifying the reverse pedals. Really be interesting to see.

Great review you got there. What work was involved in mounting the seat? I'm thinking of doing the same but wondering how I can mount the seat and what kind of seats would fit in it?

Prince4000:
Sorry didn't see the question.
I changed the wheel. now i am on a fanatec wheel, so i won't mod that for a certain time.
But if you still interested i have figured out to solutions to reverse the pedals. If you still want to know i will say you how to do it.

@khajasi

No problem at all to install an other seat on it. It was even possible for me to take the Omega slider and frame to screw it onto the base.
I first had the seat sliders, but those where a little taller and heavier so i changed it to the sliders from the cockpit.
For the seats you will have to kind of seats :
1. screwed on the bottom of the seat
2. screwed on the side of the seat (my case)

both an be fixed, you may just need to buit an adapter plate (with 8 holes for the screws) but that is not a problem.
I realised that my seat is not perfectly axed to the rest of the cockpit (1-2°) so instead of tweaking out the rails of the seat (lot of work) i will also change the fixation rail to a wooden adapter plate (20 min of work). and aline the seat correctly.

Really easy.

I will update this thread normally this weekend with shots of the fanatecs wheel installed.

I will make a close up shot for you from the seat.

This seat has side mounts. You will need to add this:
http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/cobra-steel-alloy-side-mounts-p-588.html

The sliders will be supplied with the cockpit.

i will also take a pic of the frame supplied with the cokpit which serves to fix the seat to the tubes.
The setup is in this order (descending) : seat -> side mounts -> sliders -> frame plate -> cockpit frame

the red one can be a problem. In my case it fits the seat to the cockpit. But that depends on the seat and sliders.
But if it ain't, you simply take a wooden panel and screw 8 holes in it. Not much DIY involved, or a friend can do it for you.

Like said i will take pics this weekend so you get a better understanding of what i'm talking about, and give you a little tutoriel how to do it.

So here´s how to make a custom console plate for the seat:

This is the original built up:

Here is the original frame which will serve as template

Here is the bottom of the seat + side mounts + sliders (those from GTOmega)

This frame you put on a wooden panel and draw the outer borders of it on the wooden plate plus mark the 4 holes to mount on the tubes of the GTOmega

Then you cut out the wooden plate and drill out the 4 holes and premount it on the big console like these. Insert a few screws to hold it in place

Then you put the seat (with the side mounts + sliders fixed on) on it and align it properly and mark the spots where to drill the 4 remaining holes for the fixation of the seat.

You can cut a bit of the middle out to save weight and then it should look like this

To compare with the original console plate (wooden a bit wider to add stability in case if )

Then you mount the wooden plate on the sliders aka seat (the order of this will change from seat to seat, either first on the seat or on the console)

And this is the result: perfectly aligned custom seat with the wheel

It wasn´t hard to do and took me around 30 min.
If you encounter a problem you can always ask for help here.

And here is how the fanatec wheel looks with the GTOmega

These photos were taken before the console mod + room a bit messy

@*ibo* S3 Racer

Awesome setup once again. Is the clubsport pedals hard mounted on?
I'm planning on getting a fanatec wheel and clubsport pedal for christmas for the GT Omega. But don't know how well the pedal fits on the pedal tray

Thanks.
Yes pedals are hardmounted and it was really easy to do, because of the CSP rubberfeets it stays in place when marking the holes. Just need to drill 4 new holes in the tray.

They fit perfectly, you just can't put them all the way up because the tray gets smaller at the end (or you need a little adapter plate). I have them mounted at the middle of the tray.

I need to say the fanatec is even better on the Rig than the g25.

I also saw in the vid by ISR that GTOmega is planning on releasing a new wheel mount with heigh adjustability 👍.
So now you can perfectly fit every wheel on it.

good to hear, would you be kind enough when you have time to show how the pedals are hard mounted?

I have read that Fanatec wheels are alot better than the G25/G27 but fanatec customer services are quite slow/bad to respond to problems. But hopefully when I get mines I won't have that problem.

I actually emailed GT Omega about the new wheel mount a last week, got a respond within 20 minutes assuring me that they will be sending the new wheel plate to all existing customer free of charge :) when they have it in stock. They said they are in the middle of making it be about 3 weeks till ready.
5 star for customer service.

Yes i will do that, probably tomorrow.

I got my TurboS last week, didn't encounter a problem. Their customer service can be slow depending on the countries (what i read), but it's honest and that should make up to the slowness.
I've you want a Turbo S you should hurry cause they are approching end of the final stock (got 7000th something out of 10000 made)
i will post my impressions of the wheel end of this week in the main fanatec thread and maybe a copy here.
Till now i'm honestly stunned by the wheel. Games like SCC which i hated before are now fun because i can adjust it to my flavor.

Good to hear about the wheel mount. I will give Leo a little reminder per email so he doesn't forget me ;).

Thanks for the detailed pictures! Am thinking of getting a bottom-mounted reclining seat like this one: http://www.sportseats4u.co.uk/corbeau-seats-carrera-reclining-sport-seat-p-434.html
Not sure if it will fit without mods?
As for the wheel, am tempted to get the Porsche GT3 RS V2 as it looks great. I have reservations as I previously had the Porsche 911 Turbo wheel and standard (non-clubsport) pedals and I found the build to be inferior to the G25 especially when it comes to the pedals. I believe the CS pedals are a lot better? Just don't know how much better the GT3 wheel is...

The seat wll fit with some mods, and if you lucky you got the same mounting points than the original seat.
Just to ask : that seat looks a lot like the Omega seat, why not go with that? Prince could give you his opinion about the seat, and the ISR team liked the original seat as well...

But it will fit with the same procedure i posted.

As for the CSP they are way better than the G25 pedals.
I can't compare the GT3rs as i have the turbo s but they are pretty much the same on the specs and i was stunned by the difference.
It's stiffer when turning the wheel, FFB is better and the adjustablity is a must for the different games to mod it on the fly

@ khajasi

The racing seat with GT Omega is a good comfy seat. the dimensions are quite the same as the corbeau you like. Thats just my advice mate. hope it helps:)

Here is the hardmounting for Prince:
In the front are also 2 screws under the orange cover (fixed by 3 screws)

thanks.
As you see you can still adjust (plenty of space) it to match your seating position

Just recieved the email for the company that my new wheel mount is on the way.
I didn't even needed to contact them. And for free.
WOW, what a customer service.
Kudos
I will update the thread when i get it.
Looks promising though
