Hi all,

Just got one of these cockpits myself for use with the Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel and Clubsport pedals and so far I'm happy as can be, the communication from Leo at GT Omega is also first class.

My only (very small) gripe and I don't know if you encountered this *ibo* S3 Racer was that after I'd modded something up to attach the Fanatec shifters to the gearshift attachment I found that the sequential shifter was fine but when using the 'H' shifter the gearshift adapter had too much left to right movement when changing gear, this was easily fixed however by opening up the holes slightly and using some 45mm M8 cap screws and nuts, this has cut the left to right movement down to about 5mm-8mm.

My own adapter for the shifter is very crude, just a couple of bits of mdf and a lump of timber.

Very crude, but actually very effective and solid as a rock, all of my movement was coming from where the gearshift stand attaches to the cockpit, the holes were just under 8mm but M6 bolts were supplied so they flapped around something chronic, but as I said, I opened the holes and used some M8 cap screws and though it still does move slightly it is not enough to destroy the game like it was previously.

Overall I'm very impressed, l was looking at the Obutto, Playseat and GamePOD when I came upon this one by accident, had a chat with Leo and he pointed me to this thread to answer most of my questions and I have no regrets that I bought this over any of the alternatives.

Ahh you talking about the bar. Ok
Mine also had a little mouvement. Until:
1st i screwed them really tide, i mean really tide. You did the right thing using normal nuts.
2nd i added some plastic in the hole between the round bar and the rectangular mount.
But just screwing them really tidely will normaly get rid of the mouvement

You still have a little gap there if i see correctly. If screwing more it should sit tidly metal against metal and then it should be sturdy

i will post a pic of mine tomorrow as i had someone over and forgot...

Have fun with F1 2010 ;). Also you can take a look at the 900° clutcher club thread here

Nice to know that Leo referred to this thread. 👍 Thanks Leo ;)
Then i can also post a pic of the new wheel plate

Very nice racing cockpit you guys have there.

I'm glad I found this forum, I've been planning on buying a racing cockpit for Christmas solely for GT5 :sly:

originally I was planning on getting the playseat or gameracer for christmas. But then I came across GT Omega Racing and it seems to have everything I ever wanted for my set-up.

The price is excellent and there is no bar in the middle.they are taking pre-orders at the moment so If I ordered now I would be saving myself some money for Christmas. I plan on ordering the Pro-Version.

But before I do. I wanted to ask for some advice. I own a G25 Racing Wheel

Thanks.

Thanks.

I have actually pre-ordered one last night.
I watched the video review from insidesimracing and Leo from GT Omega answered all my questions . got a really quick reply from him. very helpful dude.

I got one of these off of GTOmega's ebay for about £50 less than what they have it for on the website.
I've just put my new 40inch Samsung on the tv mount & its still sturdy.
I was going to get the Takuma Sato playseat (i think it was) but it had that bar in the middle, the GTOmega didnt.
I'm glad I got this one, its amazing!

WOW a 40inch TV!! dude that is awesome. Seems like I'm made the right choice :)

Would be cool if you could upload a picture of your rig with that 40 inch Samsung lol. awesome to see it.

So sorry for the delay, had a lot going on...
Here you see a pic of my shifter bar. See that the brackets sit tighter than yours.
Just need to screw it thighter. The red plastic did not really helped but i'm too lazy to pool them out again.

Here is a pic of the new wheel mount, that will be shipped with all new orders and is fully adjustable. As i'm average high and my seat is fairly low, i left it on the first positon which is perfect for me.

I've been debating whether to get the GT Omega or the Obutto for a few months now.

What I like about the GT is that the mounting plates are pre-drilled for the G25. What I'm not sure about is the keyboard tray in comparison to the one supplied with the Obutto. I'd want to be able to sit in the seat for normal PC usage and maybe to play the odd FPS game. The Obutto tray looks more suited to this as it seems more stable judging by the GT tray in the ISR review.

Looking at the new steering wheel mounting plate, I'm also concerned by the legs. As I'm 5' 4'', I'll likely need the wheel mount on it's lowest setting so I'm worried that the legs will jut down and maybe catch my legs although I guess I could cut off the surplus.

They are preety similar, so, if you are in the US go for the Obutto, get the GTOmega if you are in the UK, the keyboard tray is more sturdy on the Obutto.

The Obutto is a GAMING cockpit for different sorts of gaming, but the GTOmega is a RACING cockpit, soley for racing so the keyboard tray is there to be accesible. When racing you dont use it much that is why they didn't bother about making it sturdy (the keyboard tray)

I hope that this helps you to make your descision.

The same as UK Gamer told you.
Especially if you want to use it for FPS

Hey guys, Thought it would be good to update this post with these pictures of the Thrustmaster T500 RS I found on the website.

by the way, I have pre-ordered the fanatec GT2 and Clubsport pedals.
But don't know whether to cancel and order the Thrustmaster T500 RS??
I still have about 2 weeks till I receive my Fanatec Wheel.

ibo, did you by any chance get GTOmega's triple monitor stand? I'm seriously considering getting it, but I haven't due to the lack of feedback online.

I really like the GTOmega and its German counterpart. They have a TOOB system coming out, you should check it out.
