Standing or Rolling starts?

I've always found when you come out of the pits, cars a little tricky first few bends.
Then the grip lvl really good, this I think front tyres hit the right temp.
By the time your on your first real lap, I think tyres a problem to keep cool.
Well the way I drive they are lol, turning off fuel/tyre thing.
Just means you can hot lap again and again and again.
A Ian trick is have it on then go round the track till you run out of grip.

Turn one min speed for me seems 50mph, turn 2 min speed 69 mph.
Turn 3 done this once 89 mph, don't ask me how normal 86mhp.
Turn 4 min speed 72 mph, turn 5 87 mph, corkscrew turn 6/7 I think 50 mph.
Turn 8 88 mph, turn 9 82 mph and final turn 10 42 mph.

Now If I could in one lap hitting all them min speeds I think I could maybe get into the 32s.
But it's so easy to slow a little early or get something a little wrong and you can see 10 mhp come off some the high speed bends.
That's about right @CptMadBean. 👍

I can't quite get those apex speeds myself, I'm maybe 1 or 2 mph slower at each apex, but it's fairly accurate.

Yep, I do sometimes do this. I haven't done it recently though and now that you've mentioned it I'll probably try it.

EDIT//

@True-blue-8 - I'm guessing that we're keeping the standing starts?

there really my top speeds, a norm is a couple mph slower.
Take turn 4 70mph good for me, but it's very easy to see 68 or 67 grrrr.
Yesterday when we had that little race, I really caught up with you coming out of turn 4.
I'm sure I not drop under 74mph going round it, did not say it as not 100% sure I did.
But I know I can do 72 very good, 70 good and 67 oh dam lol.

Maybe the draft help me not slow down as much for it?
That was lap 2 or 3 the lap you braked to early for the final turn and I bashed you into you OPS lol.
Think I would of got best lap on that one if the crash not happen, as even with that I think you hit a high 33?

Getting bored hit a 1:33.911, little play with the gearbox.
Hmm not sure I'm happy with the box, learing it I guess but a 1:33.808.
Going to play GTA on Ps4 give me a poke if anyone going on GT6 for testing.

At least me at long last hitting 33s just want 500s off that time and I'll be well happy.

looks like it mate 👍

I'm going to try have a look if there's anything to make it a bit fairer

Best laps last season were 33.4's at Laguna. I managed a 1:33.6 in the Ford in one of the races, I'll have to double check the race again to see if it was a hotlap without mistakes...

With Monaco in the schedule, y'all need to be wary at la rascasse... Got a feeling that I'm going to catch a lot of you guys sleeping there, already been proven. :)

Somebody kept the times of last season at Laguna ?

Edit : I apologize for my blindness (>9000). :D

Hi all. I would greatly appreciate if I could get some help tuning my 86 GT, perhaps get som guide lines on how to do it :)
Hi mate

What do you use? Pad or wheel?

Here is a page where you can find some tunes. It's @NinjaEvo special ability

All really I can suggest is a low suspension ride, and a low LSD too. (It's what I use)
Playing around with the weight distribution helps massively too. Try putting it to the rear 👍

There are a couple of decent tuning guides on the forum that you can find by searching. Personally I am better with FWD but I find that rear toe, diff and brake balance are some of the most important settings to get the balance right.

beat you (as per usual) :sly:

@von Holstein If you like the rear to step out under braking to help the car turn in, try running brake balance at something like 4/2 (more at the front) 👍

We will see about that ;)

I use Brake Balance the other way, I run 4 / 6 normally as it lets the front turn in nicely under braking, can get the rear sideways doing this as well.

I use G27 wheel :)
pretty much try and look at everything that's been said mate. I might have a set up somewhere i'll try dig it out 👍

as long as there's a difference between the pressure to each tyre, you'll see some action. But I find higher brake balance at the front helps FF cars

Yeah, both will bring the back around, I like doing it with lower settings at the front as the FF will turn in better under trail braking.

Works for me anyway.

Everybody loves a DBZ reference...

It's not my fault if people can't the big-a$$ button at the top of the page saying Tunes...

I've got my one-size fits all now which I work from so it's redundant... :D

Dose using a wheel make that much of a difference to tuning???

Do those on wheels think there driving is better from when they had controllers???

Looking at buying a wheel any advise????

I find you can be more precise with a wheel and it has made me faster.

The wheel a lot more fun but it does take time to learn, is it better well I think it is.
Don't really think it's make tuning better plus keeping the FR rear in shape can be hard work.

I was never a drifter with a pad but trying it with a wheel is alot more ARGGGGGGG.

Look at Rolo don't tune cars, don't use a wheel don't use manaul box.
But still wins races 🤬

Anyway a lot of us use the G27 wheel and me and Ian got the pro stand for it to, really good stand.
Down side to the G27 is it not yet working on the Ps4, Ian thinks there a deal with sony and trustmaster.
So maybe when the deal ends the G27 wheel will work?

Another thing is the gear padals are on the wheel, so as you turn the wheel they turn with it.
Once you lose control and your looking to up or down gear to save help save the car.
You can find your hit the wrong one :banghead:

Don't think the Thrustmaster T500 wheel does this as gear padals not fixed to the wheel.
I guess the thrustmaster looks a really good wheel, but then £350 without a gear change stick
£464 with then your want the pro stand add about £90 for that!
I guess the sky the limit with setup and costs on what you can get on the wheel market

If you get the T500 with gear stick and stand I'm looking at it should look like this, It all there on amazon uk:

What I have is G27 wheel with pro stand, buy all this for £280 on amazon:
