I may win the "Most likely to get a thread closed", and I can tell you that Der Alta won't win the "Friendliest" award.

You just got on his wrong side.

....and that equals BANINATION.

I've got a new banner.

He and Duke might tie for the "Honesty/Telling It Like It Is" Award. You just don't think he is friendly because you keep screwing up and he scorns you. Grow a pair.

Very good. 👍

It's good to get the awards going earlier this year. There wasn't enough time for voters last time.

The "most missed" member nomination is pretty good, and the rest as they are at the moment can be kept. The Young_Warrior one could probably go, as he really is in the past now, despite how amusing he was. ;)

Thanks guys, but I just noticed the logo is off-centre.

*goes to fix it*

Does anyone here have a Hi-Res version of the Planet symbol? I have an Idea.... :D

Guys, this thread is for award suggestions, not "let's all beat eachother at photoshop"... There's been like 20 entries already, and does anyone actually pay any attention to it? No.

Matt, you've entered 3 and they've all been beaten. Time to throw in the towel ;)

Don't let this get locked - the GTP awards is one of the best threads of the year. :(

Well it would help if you actually had a smart follower to nominate :sly:.
There's keef, and G.T, and MachOne, and my pet fish. That should be a good selection to choose from.

...Right?

*goes to corner and cries a river*

I'm sure the best mod one was suggester last year. It's a nice catergory to have, I don't think it's that important since all the mods are great members but it's a nice category.
Well, let's choose the best of the best.

Wow. Me likey.

All I know is that I better not win the "Best Quote" category for something stupid like last year.

Maybe we need a most & least mature for age one. Some 13 year olds make you think they're 22, and some 22 year olds make you think they're 13.

EDIT

Best username? A little weak, but some people have quite witty names.

Was that your quote about me speaking "perfect English"? That is a classic.

Maybe he doesn't like Hondas.
Just a quick questeonia:
Is it possible for Jordan to get an award?
[/SIZE]

I like TB's banner.

How about "Most improved member?"

My high school had and still has the Turnaround Award at the end of every school year that's awarded to the Senior student who has changed the most, for the better. In a way it's a personal, subjective choice among the staff, but it is also objective. There is no set criteria, really. It not only includes school work or grades, but also how the student acts outside of school and their personality and all that. And it not only covers the time of high school, though that time is the main focus.

Anyway, I think an award like this would be cool, and it should be called the Turnaround Award.

][/B]WARNING: off topic (kinda)

The Tread

From Der Alta:
You've been warned once already regarding useless and Off-topic posting. I'm warning you again, as you've continued unabated. I've locked one thread and deleted a handful of other posts. One post wasn't even close to the topic of the thread.

Please change your current MO and cease with the useless/spam posts.

Me:
There is no information on those files at http://www.answersthatwork.com/, and there are only a few websites that have information on them, but they are in other languages and don't answer much at all. There are also other files like "View Chanels" and "WgaTray" that have no purpose of existence.

Der Alta:
I googled WgaTray and easily found this. Much like anyone else.

You've made a thread about information that anyone who can google a word can find easily. Hence, useless thread. Much like many of your other posts.
Me:
...*no more posts for 2 days.*
[I was going to respond, but I realized that I couldn't win. He was a Mod. I was a new member. I still don't know how to open stcurs or what wallbe is.]
If you want to whine about a mod don't do it here, do it via a well written PM to Jordan, he will look at it, and if you were unfairly dealt with he will make it right. Posts like this however do not help your case. At all. I find that post highly ironic, you make a self admitted off topic post, trying to make a point that you were dealt with harshly for making off topic posts :odd:.

Ashley
How about most memorable moment. Or something along them lines.
I like that idea, it'd be different to most memorable quote because it would be someithng that happened that could be a joke that ended up being used in several threads or it could be a turn of discussion in one thread ect. Basically it can be anything that's happened in general as opposed to a secific best quote or thread ect. Maybe too general, but if people don't cross nominations with other categories I think it'd be a good one.

I have a new favourite and this is the banner that will be used.

Was that your quote about me speaking "perfect English"? That is a classic.

Yup, that was one of the most hilarious moments I have experienced on GTP. You have learned our language well daan.

GTPlanet’s Coolest Mum? :dopey:

Wendy would win that by default.

I would really like everyone to get back to the original topic and say seriously what they think would be a good category. Please tell me if one of the categories should be removed or a new one should be added.

*edit*
I just need an "®" added to that banner. The GTP Awards® are Rhino tested you know. ;)

*edit2*
No categories are allowed to contain the phrase "shoop da whoop" or "O RLY" ;)

1) I like the "Best Turnaround" idea, as there are more than a few members I can think of over my past year or so at GTPlanet that deserve that award. The hard part is going to be to pick just one, as many of us like to stick to our "corners" of the pages, so not all of us may know what the other is talking about...

2) I also think "Most Missed" will be a great one as well. I do have one member in mind once again, but we may see similar issues as noted above. We'll have to see how the rules work out, as that may change some things.

---

Suggested awards:

- Winners for each section of the boards (GT, Gaming, Automotive, Off-Topic, etc) based on involvement, best postings, etc.

- I think a "Got Guts" award is in order too. Sometimes threads can be a bit uneventful until a person, or at least a group of people suggest something to the otherwise. You see it a lot in the Gaming and Automotive forums, and I give a lot of those guys credit for saying something different and having a solid opinion about it. Of course, their opinions may not be well-interpreted in most cases, but someone had to say something...

---

Thats about all I can come up with at the moment...

A user that was on his/her way to bannination, but changed their ways. I like it. 👍

Indeed, I am still thinking about this as I am sure there will be an overwhelming majority of votes towards one user.

An OK idea, apart from that it would create at least 10 new additional categories. I think that is too many.

Please clarify. If you mean guts by standing up and arguing with Mods, then it can't be rewarded unless there is just cause. Hence, this is too risky an award to give. I hope you understand.

To better explain "Got Guts":

Say we are in the automotive forums, particularly the current "Best Car" threads. Often times things start on a one-track mind, and there will always be that one person who says something completely different, something that should be said, and people change their minds. IMO, it takes guts to go against the grain in some situations.

I see it a lot in the gaming forums as well, and although it could occasionally be trolling, the people often make good points that need to be addressed or further explained by those who may be in full-support of the Wii, PS3, or 360. Venturing into uncharted territory and making a point can be tough, and there are some who have been able to do it now that a particular member has been banned, but it still is very "cliquey" over there.

...Or maybe this could be reserved for newer members. A new guy (I forget his name) caused quite a stir over in the automotive forums not too long ago, and he stuck with his gut despite being the new guy. That takes guts, especially with some of the old farts typing about on the boards...

1) Most influential poster
2) Fastest poster
3) Most likely to become a moderator
4) Almost quality poster (to someone with no badge, but for the most part, good posts.)

Edit:
5) Most popular moderator
6) Most popular member
7) GTPlanet flame starter (consistently creates popular threads)
8) GTPlanet's biggest rebel
9) Funniest

A user that was on his/her way to bannination, but changed their ways. I like it. 👍

I think I'm a semi-prime candidate for this category .

Considering I racked up 3 infractions and 20 infraction points in a few weeks' time :ouch: .

Edit: How about most Confrontational/Argumentative member?

Maybe Most Opinionated member?

Most opinionated could work, I'm not sure Confrontational/Argumentative is something that should be rewarded!
