Even in 1956 that probably looked like something old people would buy.
 
I think it's got a certain style to it. It's a bit like old Beetles, which for a long time really weren't that cool because they were everywhere and were driving by tightwads.

But now that they're older they're really only kept by people who give a 🤬. And while the Beetle is pretty standard as far a cooler old car, this is relatively under the radar.

I think that they take minor (ha!) modifications really well. A well kept, slightly lowered Morris Minor on nice wheels is a beautiful thing.

that sort of, triangular, yet rounded style you can also find on many a 50s US car, is something that never appealed to me, so while I don't hate it, it's definitely uncool
 
The fact I have owned one of these since I was a teenager reconfirms my belief that I was born already an old man. :dopey:

Personally I love them. Not fast, not particularly reliable and only vaguely comfortable. However well restored versions (travelers in particular) look great and all have a hidden secret. They can get very sideways on a wet roundabout at shocking low speeds, which is great fun.

A cool from me.

Not very well, especially the Traveler would stand out. Only if we're talking about a film or TV series from the 80s it could be less disturbing, but that doesn't really matter because in those KGB used to drive a Mercedes Benz and there was Porsche parked in front of a ski center in Czechoslovakia.
 
There's one I grew up near which is constructed of rust and electrical tape. I just associate them with that one car.
