Undecided.

It's certainly a very clean design, but when you consider that, at the time, you could buy the Giulia Sprint Speciale came from the Alfa factory with fantastic Bertone coachwork as standard... uh....

^ Not exactly an ugly car is it? ^

I would say both are sub, imo, and just because the original was a great looking car, doesn't mean there wasn't room for improvement, which I'd deem the Zagato version actually was this time, as rare as that may be the case (depending on personal opinion).

EDIT: Added a quote of the above post, because this post is the start of the page.

Its not ugly but I wouldn't call it pretty either. One of those cars that gets horribly overrated because its an Alfa with Zagato coachwork, IMO.

Gave it an Uncool by mistake but my opinion is that its Meh.

I don't see it as being an improvement... merely as being different. In this case, is it different enough?

That's the conundrum... to make a good looking car based off of an Alfa, when Alfa itself was making a fantastic looking one... it doesn't exactly make the Zagato an instant classic in my eyes. I won't deny it's a nice design... I'm just not as head-over-heels for it as the Speciale.

I'd say it is 'just' different enough, which is probably the intention, understandable to prefer the original, I'm normally in that camp as well when it comes to Zagato modifications.

If I were around, and had the money for either, I'd easily pick the Zagato, yes no performance improvement (perhaps even a deficit? I'm not sure).

Perhaps the question we should be asking ourselves is, is it still cool, or less cool because of the modifications? At the very least if it isn't improvement, could it be detriment to the original Alfa? If you thought that, then its maybe a meh or even an uncool, because you may not like that they made one less example of the original. I don't know, it is just personal preference after all.

Undoubtedly. I generally don't mind coachbuilts and one-offs.. but Zagato bodies have always toed the line between frivolous and fabulous for me.

Still undecided.
