Meh. What was the point of this vehicle again..?

as stated before

In the tiny, cramped streets of Japan, these are absolutely fit for purpose; they deliver small amounts of stuff to and from shops. Judging it to standards it's not designed for is like complaining how a modern American truck can't dice with an R18 at Le Mans.

Heh! This little thing is uncool, but only mildly. It'd make me grin (in a good way) if I saw one on the street, but I wouldn't be caught dead driving or riding in one, assuming I'd even fit.

So what? It completely defeats the purpose of a truck. Haul stuff and have 0 power. *mind boggled*

You understand that there is a world outside the backwoods of New York right? I'm sure the T360 served it's purpose well, which was probably to deliver small loads around cramped streets. You're more than welcome to think it's uncool, but saying it doesn't have a point because it's not a massive 'Murica Mobile makes no sense.

Yes, but I just does not seem right to me.

Just think of a small car station wagon or small hatch back but with a open bed. Its not going to tow anything just has a small bed with a small cargo capacity. Honestly I would love to own one it would be a fun small thing to make grocery/home improvement/trash runs in.

Maybe but for me its pointless. The only good thing its got going for it is its reliability.

It doesn't take a V8 torquemonster to move a vehicle smaller than a Mini Cooper around effectively, albeit at a leisurely pace. And it completely fulfills the purpose of a truck. One of our trucks would be much too large to maneuver around tiny Japanese villages where cyclists and pedestrians compete for space, making the truck useless. A truck that can't go anywhere defeats the purpose of a truck being able to haul stuff around, no? Just like our trucks are tailored to our expansive roads and cheap gas prices, Kei trucks were made to schlep goods around crowded villages.

I can certainly see its usefulness. I can certainly see its sensibility. However, I cannot exactly see how this thing is "cute". It's actually kinda ugly. It catches my attention, but not necessarily in a positive way. Would I drive one? Yes. Is it cool? Nope.

UNCOOL

Its tiny, small size has a cute factor all its own.

True, but it still doesn't change my opinion.

I never knew this thing even existed until now.

First off, let me say that I am a big truck guy (Dodge 3/4t diesel 4x4). That is not to say that "little trucks" like these serve no practical use as some are saying. You have to realize the role this thing played and where it's playground was at. It was very practical and served it's duty for what it was designed for. Within that realm, you did not need that mega-horse fire-breathing V8 or a big torque diesel like what we have today. This truck filled the bill just right for all intents and purposes.

In the looks department, it really isn't all that bad .... consider the era, the early to latter '60's.

I can't quite go sub-zero, but it is a "frosty cool".

I love all trucks. OK, maybe not big on American compact trucks, but certainly admire the full-size stuff. I know very little about them, but love European trucks, too. Needless to say, I find this thing unbelievably cute & cool.

I'd love to see Slashfan park his full-size Ford in Japanese parking spaces. At every stop & every night. lol

This is a crawler track option for snow that the T360 can be equip with.

Well then, that clears up the "it's not useful" arguement. I'd like to see your modern truck turn into a snowmobile.

**Smilies don't work :(

While I can agree that being small can add to its cuteness, the fascia has to also convey "cute", something that I don't think this car does.

Of course, there could very well be something that you guys are seeing that I am not. My opinion still stands.

There are conversion kits for new ones out there. They aren't cheap though.

Yeah, but the Honda kit is barely over a grand. Unless you can go back to 1960's and try to price match, you are way out of line, Slash. AND, Honda kit is factory!!! j/k

Oh well lol. I tried XD

I will give you that F-150 would be safer. You hit a guy on a mountain bike in that Honda, you could lose both your legs. Guy on the mountain bike will be OK, but you'll lose both legs. lol

I've already been over this:

Thinking the car is uncool = your opinion = absolutely fine and the whole point of the thread.

Saying the car is "useless" or "not a proper truck" = assumption based on lack of knowledge = invalid opinion.

That is my opinion though. It doesn't cater to my needs me and is therefore useless to me.

You're still (maybe intentionally) missing the point though. You'd get defensive if someone called your truck useless, even if they were talking about using it in the narrow alleys of Japan to deliver goods. They'd be judging it to a set of standards that the vehicle was never even remotely designed to meet, in much the same way I'd be making a ridiculous claim that the Space Shuttle is terrible for my daily commute, or a Maybach 62 makes for a terrible autocross car.

Of course, one has to then question how useful a truck must be if it's been broken and sitting in a backyard somewhere for a few years.
