Kei cars are small, but they're also much better packaged than sprawling large vehicles with correspondingly large areas devoted to engines and luggage. I've sat in a Honda Beat before and that felt if anything larger inside than my MX-5.

I'm not even close to being able to get in a mk1 MX5... with my feet on the pedals and my knees/shins hard against the underside of the dash my arse is only about half way down the seat backrest :lol:

While yes their is only so much power you can get from 660cc and that these cars have no more than 62hp, if you can slap a turbo or supercharge on one.
It would change the game a fair bit.

It is also a troll car for me in GT6

The pit move they pulled on you around 2 minutes was classic. :lol:

On this car I called meh.
Too small and I'm not really a big fan of the look either. I'm sure it's fun to drive in RL and GT6 but I don't have any strong feelings for it in one direction or another.

It doesnt know you are their, you are just along for the ride.

The car would be fun to drive, but you must keep the revs up being a 3 cylinder and all, it would have a laggy power in the low RPMs due to the 120* power stroke.
 
I get the idea that 660cc motors are probably great fun if you're caught in traffic behind other kei cars. I have my doubts that winding mountain roads help unless you're headed downhill with no other traffic in front. Flat terrain combined with winding roads or the neighborhood gymkhana are another story.

I guess this car makes the best of an annoying situation, so a kudos for that in a slightly cool way, on a budget...but that begs the question of pricing.

How much of a premium would you have to pay for one of the few sporting models in this micro-car class? Thus, if you're paying a premium that's offset by the taxes you'd pay for a Miata...why bother?

It's the perfect car for little people and it looks kinda funny as well as cute. It reminds me of a baby, and anyway, who said that good things don't come in small packages? Cool
 
But why compromise on an ugly looking two-seater that you'll have to thrash the crap out of and would be terrible to live with if you did long mileage often.. when you could get a car with more power per mass and was useable as... a car also? Let's be honest, this car exists because of a specification requirement in Japan, not because of some holistic desire to make a proper fun sportscar.

The only thing this car has got going for it IMHO, is it's probably very easy to park.

Because yes, the first thing I'd look at getting a Cappuccino for is long mileage trips. :dunce:

But why compromise on an ugly looking sports wagon that you'll have to get filthy and would be terrible off-road if you had to drive around the forest often... when you could get an SUV with more ground clearance?

It's called "fit for purpose". Nobody would be buying this planning on doing huge mileage trips with it. That you're judging it on criteria that was unlikely to be a part of the plan means you've missed the point.

Just about every car is a compromise, on some level.

I wouldn't mind owning one (but I'd rather a Copen)...that said, it's still not cool. Meh.
 
I would love to own one in real life...

The question is...: does a 170 CM short guy fit in this car?
 
Just found out that they are kinda expensive here. High milage starts at €6250,- and it goes up to €25000 for a garage queen with 4k kms on the clock.

A bit of a bummer.
