Nowhere near as in your face as the later S class models. But it's hardly the nicest looking car ever made but still has presence. In engineering terms it was great for it's time and now are a rare sight.

Very low cool.
 
Really never liked these cars much. Never considered them cool either.

Seriously uncool to me, it's just too boring to even be meh.
