The model with the traditional headlights was exported to Britain in some numbers too. I've never seen a DC2 Integra with those Celica headlights.

The ones sold through the Honda dealerships were the 4 round headlight type. Square headlight ones were used in Group N racing, but were probably Japanese imports.

The Type R was the only Integra that was officially sold through Honda. It's a bit like the GT-R being the only officially sold Skyline we got.

That's interesting. Certainly, the only DC2 Integras I have seen have been the square headlight ones but now that you mention it, this Integra was used in the BTCC Class B in 2000 and was the Celica headlight type.

To be fair, i couldn't remember which version we got officially. A quick check on Autotrader showed that the 'UK Supplied' ones were all the four headlight versions.

Bangor looking towards the Menai Strait by any chance?

I've only seen one of each in recent years. Always preferred the quad headlights even though the conventional JDM lights were clearly the more stylish of the two.

The Integra R has always been the Civic R's cooler big brother. They may mix into the same crowd, but this does to a much lesser extent. Cool.

Don't they have different headlamps as well?

Those are integrated into the front clip.

Cool car turned to seriously uncool because of the crowd that own this car.

Any 90's Vtec Honda is instant SU.

Its the car ricers obsess about, but can't buy because its too rare and expensive.

Only marginally cooler then regular Integras.

What kind of logic is this? They're both manufactured by Honda. It's just a different front clip.
When I think of Honda, I think of this:

When I think of Acura, I think of this:

The JDM version is a better looker than the global versions with the silly headlights and some modded JDM versions can actually look quite decent. Plus it hasn't had it's reputation ruined by the VTEC ricer crowd as much as the Civic.

Cool.

Despite the ricer connotations, I love the Integra. I remember having a close relative that owned one (dunno if he still owns it), and he liked it so much he even used it as his wedding car. Still the coolest wedding car I've ever seen... Also, it goes like stink and it is a very solid FF sports car.

I give it a Cool and not a Sub-zero, mainly because you have to search high and low for a proper Integra that hasn't been destroyed by so-called "tuners".

To expensive to be riced in large numbers, and one of the best handling FWD cars ever. Solid cool.

The '91-'93 Acura Integras had the same front facia as the Type R pictured, and it shared the same platform of the U.S. Honda Accord. (I owned a '93 Acura Integra LS)

When they changed the body style of the U.S. Integra in '94 we got the bullet headlamps instead of the traditional headlamps like the Japanese model that's pictured.

Cool, especially in obligatory Championship White.

I like both front clips, but I'm against the grain as such in the respect that I actually prefer the export front end. But the Teggy's a modern classic and is general proof that FWD vehicles can indeed be fun.

Love these cars for the actual value as an enthusiast economy car.
Hate them when I think about how everyone with an extra 30 bucks has red emblems and a helladope attitude.

If it was limited to just the Type R (which I think this poll is) it's a solid cool.
If we had included the watered-down normal versions it would be just a meh.

Voted Cool. :D

Subzero. Great car even myself a big time V8 and Muscle car guy likes them after driving a Aunts 95 GSR. The type R is even better. One of the few of the Famous Japanese sporty cars to be sold in the US.

VTEC YO!
Seriously uncool.
Drive one you will change your mind. They are a riot to drive.

Incredibly good FF chassis. Great little sports car. There is that "JDM" crowd issue, but it doesn't really impact the Type R as it's too rare and expensive. If anything, the thing that brings it down more is that it's a regular transportation car that gets fawned on by car enthusiasts because you gotta be "in the know" to understand how great that is.

Hmmm, decisions, decisions. Sod it, I'll give the Type R a cool.

As overplayed as the stereotype that everyone who has a muscle car has a mullet, wears a wifebeater (and actually beats her), and dates his sister.

I'm probably one of the few people here that prefers the JDM front end. The DC2 Integra Type R is actually one of my favorite Hondas, I liked it since I was a kid. I also still remember the one day I saw an Integra Type R pull up next to me at a light; my eyes were opened wide then.

Anyway, I would normally put uncool due to my experience with Honda drivers on the street, but that's mostly people that drive the normal Accords & Civics that I see drive reckless and stupid. The Type R Hondas & the NSX though are exceptions to this idea to me as they're the most rare. So, you'll rarely see idiots driving them and not see these modded ever in silly manners. In the end, with the awesome push these things get; I went with a solid cool! 👍

I like the JDM front end too. I don't like the US market one at all. I never understood why they did that.

I would like to mention Realtime Racing with this car. What that team did with the Type R is fantastic. It dominated the field in what is now the Continental Tire Challenge. This car will always get a SZ from me.

I loved watching Realtime racing running these cars in the late '90s

No no, you don't understand; only stereotypes about American cars are untrue!

...

These were too pricey to be ricey. That applies to when they were new, and especially now, as they've held their values pretty solidly for a few years now. Sure, some were treated poorly, but that's true of any car. If anything, I imagine more have been victims of theft damage than poor-taste damage. It was an awesomely over-engineered sports coupe from a time when Honda still cared about engineering. Clean examples still look right, with a stance that doesn't need oversized rims, and from all I've read, the shifter is typical Honda precision. The David for the average man to take on the Goliaths out on the track, too.

Stands along with the Clio as one of the finest examples of the FF drivetrain ever. Deserves at least a Cool for that, possibly an SZ.
