Outside of Japan, the Carry is not inhibited by Kei size rules, there are Carry ( eight gen ) with more power, bigger engine ( Mitsubishi 4G17 and 4G15 engine were also used ), from 1.0, 1.3 ( ST130 ), 1.5 ( ST150 ), and 1.6l ( ST160 ) engines.

It's not silly enough to be quirky cool like a Daihatsu Midget. Though, I can't think of anything uncool about it. It's just another commercial vehicle like a Ford e-series or a Dodge Sprinter. So yeah, I voted meh.

First off, thank you. I appreciate when people answer questions rather than go off into semantic banter avoiding said question.
A 1,200lb payload is honestly impressive, but I'm not convinced 63hp can move 1125kg very effectively.
Something as simple as 80-100hp would make this truck heaps better imo.

Granted it may be great at hauling dirty messes that aren't heavy or large through small areas, adding 20hp wouldn't make it any less effective there.
It would however, make it more effective up hills or mountains, or for someone in the slightest bit of a hurry.
Why are you talking about HP on a truck, torque is all that matters.

It's not just Japan where these have been seen as very useful. We had these in the UK as Bedford Rascals as both a pick up and a van with a slightly bigger 1ltr engine. The van was more popular, but both were a very common sight at one time. They've not been made here for maybe 15 or so years, so there are fewer around now.

Cool, a perfect answer to inner-city deliveries (unless you live in a country built after the 1700s, they don't matter*)

*Oh okay they do, just not in this context...
