Yes, I know it has a large amount of luxury and technology. And yes, I know exactly what kind of people have both the means and the desire to purchase one. But - it's an Aston Martin, so auto-SZ. And it ain't half bad looking either. Given the choice, I'd take the V12 Vantage, but this goes in the Icebox at least, and anything less than SZ is a catastrophe.

It's also one of the few cars I wouldn't put Cherry Bombs on. I like my cars loud, but AM seems to have no problem making them loud, and it seems to me they put a lot of effort into designing their mufflers to give a unique sound, which generic mufflers could ruin.

Meh. Never have been much of an Aston fan. It's alright I suppose.

If this poll had gone up before the Vanquish was released, I'd consider Sub-Zero. But, the Vanquish just does everything right at making this already looking dated.

Meh. Stunningly beautiful car, (Although the Vanquish looks better) and sounds great, too. But if I'm thinking correctly, the engine and transmission are a bit old, making me want to give it an uncool, but it looks so good, and it's and Aston Martin. I just can't give an Aston Martin an uncool... Well, except for the Cygnet, which I like to pretend never happened.

Now I just have to wait for someone to tell me of an equally appalling AM I forgot about or didn't know existed.

It's a handsome looking car, it's a meaner looking DB9 basically and I love that. I'm giving it a cool vote.

When I saw this thread in the 'Cars in General' sub-forum, I knew already what I'm going to vote without second thoughts.
Since I haven't driven any cars, I'm just going to comment on its looks. The proportions are well-balanced. It looks more aggressive (and beautiful) than the DB9, which already looks fantastic. The interior is posh. Everything in this car is spot-on. I absolutely fell in love in this car after watching the opening chase scene in the Quantum of Solace.
...And the above are reasons why I gave this car a sub-zero. Maybe even sub-zero isn't enough.

Edit:
Rather irrelevant to the topic, but could anyone get me a picture of the DBS' underbody, please? I've been searching on Google, but no results match what I want.

It's a great looking car, that makes a great noise. But, it's not so special to me, as far as Astons go I prefer the V cars. Not sure how to vote yet.

Meh. I've never exactly understood the heaping pile of praise these cars receive. I mean, I get it, but I don't feel it myself. The styling doesn't do much for me (and neither does James Bond)...I perceive modern Astons as "samey" the way people criticize the Porsche 911. I'm glad I looked up its curb weight before making a comment about it, because I had the perception this weighed over 4000 pounds, which is worth mentioning in itself (it's no lightweight anyway). Fast and loud -- even an attractive V12 noise -- aren't the end-all of a cool car.

A low cool. The DB9 would easily be touching sub zero, but the DBS is nowhere near as clean-cut or pretty thanks to the racy facade. The Bond connotations help bump it up though.

Agree with this, apart from the Bond bit which for me is a negative connotation. So just cool.

Yeah it's like the harder version of the DB9. It's like the Evo to the Lancer. Which makes it cool.

It sticks brilliantly to the Aston Martin philosophy and I love it.

Sub-Zero. Drop-dead gorgeous styling coupled with one of the greatest sounding engines in the world. More hardcore and more driver-focussed than the DB9, which alongside this, would be seen as far too soft and not exciting enough. The appearances in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are an added bonus.

Aston Martins are usually default sub-zero, but the slightly tacky bodykit on the DBS knocks it down to just a cool.

Well, at least it's not the huge pile of seriously uncool that is the One-77.

Incredibly bored of Aston Martins.

However, this is a cool wall and not a "like" wall, so being bored or finding them samey doesn't come into it. They're still cool. Throw in a V12 and a James Bond connection and this one is Sub-Zero.

I can never quite make up my mind about Astons.

In isolation, they are a beautiful shape, but then you look at the model range and they all look very similar.

Personally, I think the more ‘tat’ they stick on them (body kits, bigger wheels, lower suspension, brightly coloured interiors), the worse they look and the more they become ‘footballers cars’. The base DB9 is by far the nicest looking of their current model range. In a sober colour, with a sober interior, they are very nice.

But even then, I think I’d only consider one if, for instance, I wanted a convertible for my house in the sun – and then it would be tough decision between a DB9 Volante and a Maserati Gran Cabrio. I wouldn’t choose a coupe as I think they are neither one thing nor the other.

On the lower end of cool.

Sub-zero. Even people who know nothing about cars know James Bond drives an Aston, and James Bond is one of the coolest fictional characters ever.

Right then.. I don't much like the DBS, or even the DB9. Had I the wealth to get an Aston of my choice, it would be a Virage....

.. since it's the best looking Aston all-round IMO...

... or .. the Vanquish if I wanted something a little more brutal looking...

However, to be fair to the DB9 and DBS, it is a good looking car, it kinda is just cool, and it'll never really look out of place anywhere, even of it does have a pouty-farmhand-looking-5'10"-walking-piece-of-product-placement-with-the-charisma-of-a-piece-of-2×4 leaning against it.

That's why the James Bond connection lowers it's coolness. No one is ever going to be as cool as James Bond. Not even Sean Connery or Daniel Craig are as cool as James Bond. You step out of a DBS, or a silver DB5, and you're immediately going to disappoint bystanders. A Lotus Esprit on the other hand is fine. Everyone is cooler than Roger Moore.

No matter who you are, getting out of a DB5 makes you look cool. A DB5 is the epitome of subzeroness.

A DBS will not have the same effect!

...as long as it's not silver. You just look like you've spent £400k+ on living out your James Bond fantasies in a silver one.

A Silver Aston is like a Rosso Ferrari... far too obvious a choice.
