4-door Porsche. Come on.
 
Great car but uncool.

I wouldn't describe it's looks as 'ugly' - i think it's more 'unresolved' as it looks alright from certain angles. Like the Cayenne, i'm sure the second generation will look more cohesive.
 
Looks like a 911 with a sprawling butt-tumour. However, Porsche did manage to eventually make the Cayenne a real looker, so we can only hope they reverse their idiotic decision to drop the Sport Turismo concept design.
 
They look huge and have great presence, but the proportions are all wrong for me and it has 2 too many doors for a true Porsche. Anyway, you can get kids in the back of a 911 if you really need to. ;)

These will never be cool - even for Porsche fans - so it's an uncool from me.
 
Yeah would've got a 911, but, no wait I could afford one, oh, uhh, ****. I wanted a much uglier, barely more practical, worse driving Porsche.

Seriously uncool.

Prices between a new 911 and Panamera in the UK are pretty much the same, the only difference being a base Panamera is about £10k less than a base 911. So you've really got to want one at that price... unless you already have a 911 GT3 RS sat at home in the garage, making it slightly more sense.

I really like the car as a product. It's a really capable jack of all trades and it comes at a surprisingly reasonable price for how much car you're getting.

It still isn't particularly cool IMO. It's hard to say though, we think it's uncool because we're car guys and it's a 4 door Porsche, maybe non-car people think it's cool because it's a 4 door luxury sedan that doesn't look like another silver BMW.

Pretty sure the 997 GT2 RS was more powerful, and even the current 991 Turbo S is slightly more powerful than the highest level Panamera.

It never was either.

The Panamera Turbo S currently develops 570hp in its top model. The Carrera GT was developed 605Hp until the RS barely eclipsed at 612Hp.

Fastest 4 door at the Ring and fast enough stay on the heels of a Hellcat in the QTR mile in top form with much less power.

Far from slow.

I find it very cool for the same reasons. It's cool because everyone else thinks it's uncool. And still a lot less pretentious than a Cayenne.

I'm not sure I would call a car, let alone a factory stock luxury sedan, that does the quarter mile in the 11s, slow...

Must be the ones I've seen in person weren't driven hard then. I stand corrected.
 
I remember seeing a fleet of covered prototypes driving through my city to get to a testing facility. I thought they looked like Porsches, but were too big to be 911s.

Of course, being the kid unknowledged with cars back in 2008, I assumed it was a new Corvette.:crazy:

Cool, for that memory.
 
The Panamera looks awful, and that just ruins any aspect of it that might make it seem good in any other way...

If only it could look like the 2012 Sport Turismo concept version.

The Panamera is brilliantly refined, incredibly fast, and well-contoured and wonderfully sleek...

..from the front. When you get to the rear end... uh... no thanks.

I'd rather take a much slower XJR, thank you... and I don't even like that design all that much.

Seriously uncool. I may have said it a million times, already, but you can't outrun ugly.
 
Has a negative reputation as being a seriously uncool car due to that stereotype that its the ugliest thing ever made.

Is actually a very comfortable, fast, well built and an elegant cruiser that is distinctively cool.

You sure live in a strange corner of NY state, where pristine old muscle cars and new Porsches are both common sightings.

Sure is. Even seen a GT3 and just today saw a Merc SLS AMG. Mostly Boxsters, Carerras and Caymans around here though. The occasional 911 is around as well.

Perhaps we have different ideas of "common" then; I see maybe two or three Panameras a week in Canada's biggest city. That the 911 handily outsells it doesn't hurt.
 
And I see five or six 911s a minute whenever I'm in Surrey.
 
The Porsches that are common around here are base and S model 911s, Caymans, Carreras, and Cayennes. Panameras are fairly uncommon.

That said, I saw one next to a Bentley Mulsanne today :D.
 
Well I barely see any 911. Now Panameras or Cayennes that's a different tale. I see at least one in a daily basis.
 
I only have to see a Panamera twice per month. Never seen something like an M Coupe though.

I would rock one and I like the Cayenne after riding in a friends Turbo S.
It would be fun to take the kids to and from school in a Panamera.

I remember when it was the bonus car in the spotting scavenger hunt. I lost count at about 20. I could probably go leave for thirty minutes at any given time of day and see at least two.
