Uncool, because it's just a commuter car.

Mildly cool because the hybrid layout is innovative, with the gasoline motor acting more as a generator than a propulsion device.

Seriously uncool for the whole 233mpg bull crap GM tried to foist on the public during development.

Subzero because it pisses off Republicans, who blame Obama for it, even if the project was green-lit by GM during the Bush era. And because of glorious internet arguments like the one above...

Arguments over what is, basically, simply a charge-depleting hybrid car.

Plug ins with Range Extenders are both Hybrids and EVs.

Reason being it doesn't need Fuel to operate it's only there to extend its range, think of it as an EV with Hybrid option.

I know what you mean. I know a lot of people that work at the different Ford plants in and around Detroit. The things they do on their lunch breaks and then proceed to go back and produce cars. Its a damn wonder the cars even are safe to drive.
