You guys vote Sub Zero on everything.

Its just a Corvette. I thought they were fairly average in America.

To be fair, the car is still new. These still catch my attention when I them on the road.

Anyway, sub-zero. I didn't like the design of the C7 at first, until I saw it in person. It looks great.

Wait a sec, is the OP picture from GT6? Anyway...

When I first saw the unveil for this car, the rear was the strangest part of the car. Other than that I found the design to be pretty good; it just "works" for me. The cabin is a bit nice too - they made it more like a jet fighter cockpit, retaining the HUD from the Z06. The Corvette is still one of the most bang-for-the-buck sports cars out there as well - already I've found dozens of them on the streets. Even though it's mostly owned by middle-aged men & that the Corvette name attributes to Americans, I would still buy one if I got money (to spare).

I'm gonna give it a Cool.

Cool. Only saw one that wasn't at a car show.

And what, may I ask, is wrong with the Z06?

Oh, nothing at all, nothing at all. It's just that the C7 Z06 makes me think of Power Rangers when it's in yellow. :odd: (just saying, I know you weren't asking me in particular)

Anyway, I voted cool for the C7 Stingray. Massive improvement over the previous base model Corvette in terms of performance and comfort, while still being the bargain two-door sports car in the US. I was one of those who wasn't really into the exterior styling, and I preferred the C6's looks, but this is still a fresh design which was well-executed. It's not ugly at all. To me, it's quite a big leap from the previous generation's design, and that's a risky thing to do, but they've done it well enough to deserve great respect. So far, I've only seen one in real life, in front of a restaurant, in blue. And it was beautiful, looking much better than in pictures.

I've been getting a particluar craving for Corvettes recently because of this exact car.

Sub Zero.

Meh. While it seems to shine in the handling and performance departments, it's outperformed on track by Alfa 4C which is far better looking. Also, 7-speed manual is definitely an overkill. On top of that, people keep crashing them, the first week alone after deliveries tallied up to what, 5 wrecked C7's? And I'd be eager to know whether they've addressed the problems C6 suffered from (Unwanted targa-conversion at 60mph, oil starvation in track use)..

Uncool. At least where I live, everything the corvette represents is as far from cool as you can get. I also think it's the worst looking Corvette in decades, just an un-original jumbled design that doesn't know what it wants to be. What saves it fom being seriously un-cool is the huge effort GM put into bringing the tech, suspension, and interior up to par with the competition.

There is no acceptable reason to have four exhaust pipes lined up in a row, in the middle of the rear valance. Added to the edgy styling - Uncool.

Seriously Uncool.

I think all supercars are uncool, regardless of how much I like them or how well they perform. But the Corvette is overly crass and has got too many negative stereotypes attached to it. And, much to the 'Vette seriouslyuncoolness, most of those stereotypes are true.

*chuckles*

Corvette =/= supercar.

You think the normal bystander nows the difference? Moreso, does GM nowadys believe there's a difference when they compare it to supercars around the 'Ring and pit it against the other GT cars in the WEC? It's got loads of horsepower, it's designed for being flamboyant and fast, it's noisy and made of fiberglass. How is that not a super-car or, at least, a high-powered sports car?

The only Corvette I would call a supercar would be the C6 ZR1, and maybe the C6 Z06, but that's stretching it.

The normal bystander thinks their local dentist has had a particularly good year.

I've almost always considered it a muscle car. It just keeps getting better and better though. I still don't think it's a supercar though. For whatever reason, that label just doesn't seem right.

They are still associated with overweight men in their midlife crises, especially the base models. Not taking away from the fact that these are great bangs for the buck, but all in all, the base models are just oh so uncool.

I doubt the normal bystander even knows supercars are called supercars.

Still fast. Still cheap. But with a substantial increase in build quality and economy. That's the way to make a proper sportscar.

So, what happens when the C7 Z51 isn't all that much slower than the C6 Z06?

Not once have I ever the Corvette being called "America's supercar". I always referred to it as a sports car, thats the way they feel to me.

Well, I'm a Viper guy, and I always will be. I just prefer Vipers over Corvettes... But I really can't deny that the Corvette is a nice car. A lot of bang for your buck too, which can be hard to do in this day and age. So it sounds like I would rate the C7 at sub-zero. But, no. It may be cheap, but I would still much rather do some (quite a lot) extra saving and buy a Jaguar F-Type, or a new SRT Viper. It just doesn't pull me in like other cars do, the styling isn't very interesting, and that's a key factor for me and a car. But still, I give the new Corvette a low cool. Almost meh, but still cool.

Cheap (by European standards) V8 sportscar with fairly decent styling.

Not sure they really work on British roads though.

I'll give it a cool.

It will "just" be a sports car. Don't get me wrong, I like love the Corvette, especially the C7, but I really struggle to call it a supercar.
