Most people who say the BMW M# is boring have never driven a proper BMW M#.

It's only boring in Gran Turismo.

Thats my opinion ... i bet you never drove an Lexus or at least in a F model with +400PS ... they all are fascinating good cars but the lexus got me with its design and motor sound ...

I'm genuinely interested in the comparison of the M4 and the E92 M3.

The E92 still is the best car I've ever driven in my life, and while it's evolution that needs to happen the M4's direction on-paper loses its appeal as a driver's car.

Steering with less feedback, less throttle response (while it's almost on-par with N/A motors it is still supposedly apparent) and less aural pleasure. Reasons that some journos are even preferring the soon-to-be defunct C63 AMG over the new M4.

You're only looking at it from a numbers perspective, which is surprising for such a big fan of BMW.

I'm looking at the bigger picture. Even journos like Steve Sutcliffe who would take the AMG over the M4 have said it's pretty much better in every way than the old car (admittedly he flip-flopped alot between his M3 and M4 reviews)... and this is despite the fact people are iffy on the electro-mechanical steering, or the fact it might have a fraction of lag (Chris Harris referred to it's response as astonishing)... and how does is still arrive at being a better overall package than the E9x M's?, because of things like the torque figures, and the weight reductions, and the fact that steering feel =/= handling - even Harris pointed out his own E92 M3 strongest suit wasn't in it's steering feel.

Although if you want the actual answer, it's probably Lexuses. The -us becoming -i applied to Latin words only like cactus and alumnus. The etymology of Lexus is derived from the name Alexis, which is Greek. If it is a Greek word the plural should be Lexodes but because it isn't actually a Greek word you can get away with Lexuses even if it sounds awkward.

some journos have no idea what they are talking about, also a C63 is not a drivers car its a hoon mobile.

The only thing the M4 lacks is sound which imo the E92 wasn't the best in that department anyway for a V8, the rest is surpiror to the E92 in basically everyway, throttle response is bearly noticeable when your carrying much less weight and have a much broader power band.

For emissions reasons, modern normally aspirated engines don't necessarily have immediate throttle response anyway, though I dunno if the E92 M3 actually suffered from that.

Lol...the C63 improved massively with the introduction of the coupe, it's actually shocking how good it was in its last few years considering that people see AMGs as exactly that.

Not the lack of doors, around the time of the introduction of the coupe is when they started making improvements culminating in the Edition 507 and C63 Black Series, the latter of which was actually quite highly commended for its ability despite its ride. Even came very close to winning Motor Trend's BDC if it weren't for the existence of the Porsche 911.

Yeah but compare it to the Current M4 which is now over 200KG lighter and its an overweight boat.

Yeah it's all subjective. I prefer the M3 sound although I like the AMG a lot as well, sounds more similar to my car. Just like some think the M3 sounds raspy and bad, some others think the 63s sound too rough and unrefined. I like both, just the smooth high revving V8 a little more. I'd probably have to give it to the AMGs exhaust-wise.
