Enjoyed the latest update Amar. I hope your having fun with GT5 👍

Thanks for the update, not a whole lot of stuff interested me as much as before, but I think I just gotta wait for the game now (don't get me wrong - VERY grateful for everything you've done :) ).

HAHA done reading..going to sleep.

Fifth update is in the OP, thanx for patience :)

Jay Leno in Credits:

Car # 373 S Jay Leno Tank Car '03

From car list
This brought to you by that "Crazy opelgt:crazy:1969 guy"

A lot of people are hoping that an update will allow the cahnge of wheels on cars. I do too. Hopefully it won't be a this is never happening at all situation. It really is a small thing, but considering its one of the few things you can change about your standard car to make it more aesthetically pleasing, I don't blame them. Rims, no major performance hindrance or bonus, wing - better downforce for lower topend, paint, no affect other than looks. So, yea, I can see why ts abig deal to some. Specially those who want to paly around with photomode a lot.

Wow. I'm consistently amazed at how different things effect different people.

I played GT5p constantly, and I wouldn't know what screen tearing was if you pointed it out to me. Much less have it bother me enough to pass up on a game.

Weird.
I know, I don't know why it bothers me so much.
I think it's because it used to be a non-issue and only surfaced in the last few years.
And now more and more games suffer from it.
The fact that console games are reverting to 30 fps combined with the screentear is just such a backwards move from ps2 standards that it gets on my nerves when I notice it in a game.

I was never really bothered by jaggies in the past (never cared for AA in the late 90's) or never cared for a res higher than 1280x1024 in older games).
Meanwhile input lag for example bothers me endlessly, especially in online games.

I just can't play say quake or ut if I'm aiming at something moving that's 10 pixels wide and the input (and feedback) that my screen is giving me is 50+ ms (most LCD tv's till this year) input lag on top of 100+ ms server lag (or more in case of p2p connections on console games), it just doesn't work.
Thats why I still use a 19"CRT monitor for my pc (well that and the perfect contrast and colors) instead of a larger LCD.

Some people say they don't notice the input lag and server lag, but I think that's just the aim assist and massive hitboxes talking:p

Sorry I'm straying WAY off topic here.
But ye, the screen tearing annoyed me in prologue and I believe PD should be above the corner cutting 'lets ignore vsynch for graphics' crap that other devs pull.

jay lenos rocket car is in the game (or one of his cars of some sort)

and thats prolly why his name is in the credits.

thanks for the 5th update sir! you're a god among GT hungry fans

I found Jay Leno's name in Credits. Hm. Any thoughts?

His creation, the Tank Car, is back in the game (was first in GT4). He also did the main voice-work for GT PSP, but his name would most likely be in the credits for the 2003 Tank Car.

Great update thanks a lot Amar. Enjoy!

Good read, as always, and I'm SO happy there's no rewind feature.

So how do we back up our save game if it's copy protected?

Did you see "MajanoX" in the credits, (the guy who named Daiki Kasho's - 5OUL ON D!SPLAY)

Yeah that's what happens to me, it's only when I turn, like if i move back and forth the car will tear, if I take a corner normally and its not fast movement it wont. but its when I pass something fast, or it's fast rendering, like uncharted 2, during the waterfall areas and if I look up and down its not bad, but when I have to load a lot more and look quickly to the left and right it'll tear in the middle. I have a video that I made of gran turismo 5 Prologue doing wierd bleeding I tried all settings on my TV, and it did this on 2 TV's and 2 PS3's. I wonder if any of you get this.

Anyways, yeah... I dunno. I hope it doesn't split, I mean I only get slightly irritated with it, if it were any worse I wouldn't play it, but its tolerable.

Edit, I'll try to make another video showing the quick tearing/splitting in just a second here, rather than the jagged edges.

I had thesame thing with GT5P on a 40 inch full hd samsung. At first I thought my 30 euro hdmi cables might be to blame so I bought 200 euro monster cables but that didnt change a thing. It messes up the entire picture I mean: I didnt buy a full hd tv to see jagged edges in every shot. I bought it to get a clean and sharp picture. They made me believe GT5 would be in full hd so I was very disappointed with the result.
Recently I read an article proving that GTP didnt run in full hd at all. It has way less vertical lines. So now I think that is what's causing these ugly, flickering edges. The Samsung I had was a fantastic screen but I wanted something bigger so I bought the best screen Sony has hoping that prologue was just .. a prologue and that GT5 will run in full hd. I'm anctious to figure that out but nobody seems to know. I will be SOOOO disappointed if GT5 will have these jagged edges. They ruin the idea of the game looking real ALL the time.

It would have been nice if there was a rewind feature in replays though.

All I want is something like this when watching a replay:

  • Pause button
  • Fast rewind
  • Normal speed rewind
  • Slow motion
  • Fast forward

Instead we probably dont get any options except zooming in on your car when you press Triangle 👎

Somebody could please tell me how to make an empty mp3 for the licenses? Thanks.

just want the rewind function for photomode... to find the right moment and place...

His creation, the Tank Car, is back in the game (was first in GT4). He also did the main voice-work for GT PSP, but his name would most likely be in the credits for the 2003 Tank Car.

a company called blastolene built the car, not him. he was just the buyer. it's real name is "the blastolene special", but it's liscenced through jay leno, not blastolene, so it's called "jay leno tank car" in the game. I assume that's why he's in the credits.

Old lady = Rewind feature
