I remember being told off by BK for talking too much. Hmm, what about having two people during the race who commentate on the race. Also, if Jamman is going to miss the start of alot of races then he can be an outside race commentator while I be an in race commentator. And I remember asking for a status report on Johny, mu and mike. Only to find out worrying news. It was scary when I was driving then I would look behind me and see 3 LMP cars all bunched up behind me. I do enjoy that track. New favourite :D .

Also, can some one help me out here because I really have no clue how my tyres lasted 17 laps. If I wanted I could go to around lap 20 but I would be running 1.50 after that. My slowest lap on tyres was a 1.45 which I really dont understand. All I did was rebuild the engine and chassis, then put brake bias at 2,0 respectively. Then in the final turn I completely lost my nerve for the whole race because running wide and spinning would be a disaster so I spent abour 1.5-2 seconds off the throttle in the mid point of the corner. Other than that I have no idea.


Just thought I'd add, I had a massive battle with jakegirad.... on the pace lap. He kept over tkaing me and the two guys in front. Repeatedly. I wasnt sure why. Not as if we were falling behind loads like a certain memorable incident from Indy. He just kept passing us.

Anyone got the full results list or a replay of the race to attach a post - or even better: both!

I can only see that Senna won and Golfer came in 5th, Jake, tiss, BK, MU, Johny, Mike and Mike were in the race - that's all I see from what I've read. Both GT-ONEs missed the race.. whaat? Razor got YLOD, I couldn't have made it anyway, Mav doesn't seem to be in the series anymore (?)...

Looks like the racing is interesting. I had to pull my entry because I have end of year examinations and won't be able to show for any races this season. I will, will, and I mean, WILL be back in the next season, or for any races that are after July 1.

mu - 4th i am 3th, ayr senna congrats with ure win, but i was unluck got already 50 sec behind on 1st lap, but managed to squeeze through the field i think if jakegirard didnt hit me i could of 100% won the race.

There are many reserves, yet the only one who has been in action is Senna... wonder why none of the others have taken the opportunity to join :)

VGBR from GT planet typed out an elegant guide on passing etc. Knowing when the corner is not yours anymore etc... This wwill certainly help to stop people from hitting eachother.

I recommend this to anyone who wants to improve there racecraft.
 
Blaze, thanks for this i have a poor racecraft but very fast, but this poor racecraft i show only in this series the other series i am very fair & clean, i think its the cars who goes way to fast at draft etc. to have clean overtakes.

lol. Personally i like slower cars like the integras and GT2 and GT1 type stuff.

this LMP stuff is too hectic. you go so fast that you dont even know what happened. But ill stay in this series. Every other series i race in is a lot slower than this. Mostly GT2 stuff.

Nah, I wouldn't say it's the cars, you should just keep some distance before trying to overtake. Wait for others to make mistakes :)

I have learned absolutely no race techniques from GT5, only how to drive the cars. The AI is too passive.. Defending and overtaking I learned from Racedriver GRID (not too realistic, I know). Great game with a lot of action, sadly its online racing shut down about a week ago.

I learnt this from DiRT3 rallycross online. Countless races I have won after running third and watching the battle for 1st become the crash for first. Very nice to just breeze by and those two are both bewildered becasue while they would of been either 1st or 2nd, they both now have to fight for 2nd or 3rd. I was 3 secs behind. Then I'm over 5 ahead.

Oh and Blaze, are you sure that the tyre challenge isn't too fast for you? I meant it is hardly a walk in the park.
 
Partly the cars. I must say out of everything the LMP's are the hardest to overtake in because of the high speed. But for me that's the most fun overtaking. Difficult overtaking. Provides a challenge. And once you've pulled off an epic overtake, it feels sweet. Not that I'm saying I'm the perfect overtaker. I've had my fair share of big crashes overtaking that were my fault. But I've certainly got better at them since the game came out :sly:
 
The first several laps of Grand Valley were pretty good I thought, some great racing. There might of been a wreck though that I missed, and thats how I went from my p8 quali position to p3 so easily, dont remember.

When we were doing F1 at Suzuka I crashed about 10 times if you only count major crahses. They would of looked amazing. I mean 3 times coming into turn one I used too little brake, too late and as I turned the car just span nearly 180 and slammed into the wall side on at around 190mph. Not good. 3 times I did that.

My favourite was a crash with Jamman after the esses into that double right hander before the under pass. Into the first one, I dived up the inside and Jam stopped in the sand while I flew on and smashed into the barrier at 150mph. Very fun. Very realistic initially.

I personally don't have too much of a problem passing in the LMPs, but it is incredible fun to pass and battle in these cars. Then again, my specialty has always been in things that have a fair amount of downforce, so I've always been very good in F1 cars and the LMPs as well. I love when I have to fight my way up the positions, like at Daytona, ignore my mistakes that cost me a podium or better, and that was the most fun I've had in GT5 to date.

I'm going to try to update the thread on the sunday/monday after the race.

I know you posted the replay, tissimo, but I've had experience with US version replays not working on PAL versions.

Guys, can any of you upload the replay please? I try but then there are 35 files of the same replay. Each 2MB, or am I missing something?
 
Aaah, my mistake. It must be a .rar file in order to meet the size limit of GTP's forum, sorry.

Winrar if you haven't got it...
 
Well, I have to go now...

1. Export GT5 replay to USB / flashdrive > copy to PC > zip the replay folder using winrar > attach the folder here.

Make sure the winrar is 32- or 64-version that is compatible with your computer. I hope you can make it work otherwise there's only.. Jam who maybe have the PAL version, Idk about Johny...
