What a race today. Qualified 2nd, only 6 thousandths of a second off of Maverick's pole time  then had a dogfight with him in the qualifying race that can only be called spectacular, until on the last lap I binned it at the chichane immediately after I got ahead of him. That made it a 5th place start for me.

In the race, I spun into turn 1 :ouch: so turned around and was in 11th. Then I started my climb up the field. Was around 5th at my first stop after having quite a battle with Allin over it. Then when exiting the pits, I had Mu to worry about now. We had it out on track for a while, I could never shake him, and after some time, he managed to shake me because of some other silly mistakes. It was around before that I decided to try and finish the race on these tyres. It proved to be working at first, but I wore them down a bit fighting Mu, which costed me in the end. I was up to 2nd on these worn tyres, that just kept getting worse. I was keeping them under control, lapping 1:32's, then I had fuel to worry about as well. VEGASRACER was catching me at a rate of knots, and he passed and continued on his way, then Blaze, Johnny and Allin were catching me, and that was sped up by a nasty spin which was all the tyres could do anymore. I could barely drive the car straight at this point. So, I pitted, at this point in 9th, dead last, and went for fastest lap. Did a 1:28.7, I think without a draft.

If I put mediums on and fueled up a bit more I could've managed to do a 1 stop more easily, and could've kept 2nd.

so what exactly happened in the race???
if my friends list was full, you could have sent a message.

Were you able to get the replay or did another race start in your lounge after the pre season race?

I've been taking photos to post and racing has been clean up to lap 16 so far. All is civil. Can't say much for the ease of the rolling start. Kind of a mess.

If anything happens like Razor again (I know I messed up badly when I cut it too fine and hit him) could we possibly move any cars that haven't moved of the grid after the people have lined up for the pace lap, could we move them to a safe section of the track where no one will hit them, rather than living them in the middle of the fastest parts of the track, a problem which is multiplied when you have 3 or 4 abrest like the battle for 9th

Yeh Blaze left it way too late to go for it. We were all bunched up like crazy because he didnt go until the finish line and everyone was expecting him to accelerate at the end of the bank. As a new guy at the front though its understandable :)

I'd just like to point out, if the time we started the pre-season is the same time we start all the races, then the OP has the wrong time listed for the GMT start of the races. We started the race at 19:30 BST (British Summer Time) which is an hour ahead of GMT, meaning that the race should start at 18:30 GMT, and the lobby opens at 17:30 GMT. That's why I went off to watch Doctor Who and missed the qualifiying race, I thought the room opened very early and when I returned at 18:30 GMT, i thought I would still have an hour to practice. Can these please be adjusted

So, I guess you started without me since it said I couldn't join and should wait for a minute (which usually means the race just has started!). Just spent 1 hour in the room just to not get in the race... that's great.. simply great.

Got one chance to enter, during the second one I guess someone pressed start (which kicks you?), because I could still hear the guys talking in mics - and when I tried again I couldn't enter :grumpy:

After the qualifying race you typed that you would be back and left the room? What happened?

Exciting F1 race today. I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't watched it but it was a good race.

I left, then wanted to join again. Midway through the loading screen I got disconnected, I suspect than someone started the race as it said I had entered the room and didn't wait for my auto-message (not sure, but normally it wouldn't stop like that when I could hear BK and someone British talk in mics).

Then when I tried again it said: "You cannot join this room at the moment. Please try again in a minute"(that message usually means race has started countdown or is loading). It continued to say that when I tried and when it stopped saying it room was full (cjrciadt had joined).

EDIT: Has somebody got the full results? I know Mav won, but who finished, positions etc would be great too.

AND: A suggestion for the season is: make the qualifying race half an hour before the race. This would give me a better chance, people can make oil changes, and reserve drivers can be called-in after the qualifying race.

Guys, in future you should watch out for me, Jamman and Blaze because I am hosting a series whihc teaches tire wear reduction or you come last

It's 2:30 EST. Qualifying race begins 2:20 EST. If you want to run qualifying laps to position yourself for the qualifying race get in there at 2:00 EST and you should be ok.

what I mean is that the GMT times are an hour too late than they should be

Yea times were listed wrong in the old OP. I think he converted for London time and not GMT and the daylight savings time screwed it up.

What Tissimo said.

Hey, you didn't get much from my charge through the field from 12th :grumpy:

It was a good drive, I'll give you that but the slight problem was you got up there by only doing one stop and at the end as a result you were running on rims lol :)

Lol, I did that last season in the Judd GV5

I was 5th but crashed in turn 1 on lap 1, putting me 12th. I then charged up the field to 5th, pit and was still 5th I believe, but after my first stop, never pitted again until 4 laps from the end, which carried me all the way up to 2nd, then my tires went away and that was the end of that for me, fell like a rock down the order. If I pitted earlier, i'd have took 5th or even 4th, since Johnny ran out of fuel.

Awesome race with allin and mu though, those guys were very hard to take and keep positions from.
