Well, what a s*** race for me. First the now infamous pace lap. There was a pileup at the start finish line and I came out badly. Ruined engine and wheels. PLEASE TURN OFF MECHANICAL DAMAGE FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE INNOCENT. I got to 4th or 5th and I made a mistake and went into the grass. That meant I couldn't brake so I went into the gravel. 10th place. Now I had nothing to lose, so stupidly I tried to do a 1 stopper. It was working until about lap 18 but I pitted lap 21. I had no grip at all. Johny, Jamman and Blaze overtook me at that point I think. So then I knew had to do another stop and I did on lap 35. Had a good battle with Razor right until the end but he pipped me. Only way is up...

Sorry for that essay. :p

Unlucky MU. We were briefly fighting at the front at the start then I went off trying to avoid bombe and saw you go off a few laps later. When Johny, Me, Blaze and BK passed you I wondered why you were going incredibly slow. Now I know why.

As for mechanical damage I highly doubt it will be turned off. Sometimes stuff isn't your fault and you get the worse of it. That's motorsport I'm afraid :)

Yeah, guess you felt the same at Daytona when nothing was going for you. But I'll try my best to bounce back.

Maybe you'll get 2nd at Grand Valley :D Good luck on your bounce back :)

Im enjoying my moment while it lasts because I can almost guarantee I will never get 2nd or above again. It was only thanks to Mav and AS not being here that I managed to get it in the first place.

Thanks. :)

I like Grand Valley so I'll have high hopes. I've also been driving the Speed 8 and the difference between that and the 908 is astonishing. The Speed 8 is far quicker. But maybe that's just me as I know the 908 can be quick in the hands of a good driver like Johny. (fast but sometimes unpredictable outbursts lol)

Quite frankly the leadup to the race was poorly done and when i tried to correct people everyone ignored it and acted like it never happened.

As i said before. The was a 10 minute qualy beofre the qualy race to determine the postions for the qualy race. I set a 1.19.339 which was the fastest of ANYONE in those 10 minutes(no mav today). WHEN the qualy race started i was placed in 6th postion to start the qualifying race. I earned the pole for that race and started 6th. Thats not fair! Dont tell me that the race is 1hr when i tell you ive been wronged. Do something about it!

Am i right in saying this is an organized series! this is not one big free for all theres structure to everything.

Starting up front in these races is sooo important. We all know that the people in the midfield often wreck eachother and that cost lots of time while the people up front drive away from everyone else. THAT is why i try so hard to start up front. WHEN that is taken away from me i am going to COMPLAIN!

I do agree something was weird about the qualifying race. I know I qualified behind you but started 5th.

I think it was at the start of the race / lap 2 that the pass in question took place. I don't know just what I assumed. Passing on the peace lap isn't a big deal as long as the place is given back before the start.

I'd just like to say that regarding the qualifying race, its one of the best things in the series. If not the best. Not due to excitement but due to fixing a problem. When me and Rich S were doing the F1 series, I qualied in a lap time which should of put me 6th according to the driver standings on the right of the screen. Then where did I start? 9th. The quali system for lap times in GT5 is useless because it looks up where you are on track, so if someone goes out at the start of quali, they remain first sometimes, other times it gets judged by lap times but the judging is random so it becomes a highly unfair system for quali. That's why the race is so much better.

Side note. Are we going to run a fake pace lap where one guy drivers the GTR pace car for photo shoot purposes? Then run the actually pace lap and then race at the end of it.

I jsut read this and i dont think the qualy system on gt5 is off. Wat actually happened is 3 other people probably set lap times then hit start and went to the pits. This would drop their names down the leaderboard but keep their times in the system(unlike leaving the track). Of all the times your time was 9th fastest but when you set it of the people on the track at that time youu were sixth fastest. this doesnt count the people who did fast laps and pitted.

I could be wrong though

Also Golfer do your self a favor and change cars. perhaps a different pescarolo. From what i have seen that pescarolo is hard to keep on the road. I dont think your enjoying driving it. Pick a pesca thats enjoyable and youll go fast

Can I change either back to the 908 or drive a 787B? Preferably the 908. I only have the Peugeot Total so would I be able to replace Jake since he missed the first race and hasn't been too active on the forums

When I get home I'll do some updates . I see a couple of new guys interested in the series & I have to post an r8 tune . And I still gotta watch the whole replay

Since Jake didn't race in round 1 he can form a team with bombe if you guys want. & also golfer dnf round 1 so he can switch cars . I know that the Pescarolo is a very difficult car .

The GTP Tyre Challenge isn't that bad

EDIT: Thanks BK. The 908 is the only car I can control so it looks like Mike is my new team mate... I think

ill do you all one better and show you what i'm talking about. I (Blaze_409) am in the aforementioned toyota gt-one and (Razor60) is ahead of me in the 787B in this video of the pace lap

as you can see the leaders are way ahead of us. we are in 3rd and 4th postions. razor was holding us up
The field always bunches up on the approach to the S/F straight near the end of a pace lap. You guys were barely halfway through the lap, and from your post before the video was posted, you make it sound like the leaders had sped away, when in fact they were clearly visible.

It just seems like you were inpatient there, at least from my vantage point watching the replay.

Guess he wanted to focus on the Super GT.. isn't that the series he joined?

And I still hold my ground: Grand Valley and Suzuka are the two hardest tracks on the calendar. You really need to concentrate or you'll get punished by the track. Imagine if Suzuka is in the rain too, that would be sick.

Monza and Seca are fairly easy, not too many turns and no really tricky ones - only the corkscrew (isn't that what it's called?).
---

I would think that Suzuka should be a couple of laps shorter than Grand Valley. 2-3.

Meh. It's all about the challenge. The Super GT's are for the guys that can't handle the powerful Le Mans cars. Hence why Paginas does it more.

As for the tracks coming up I think Grand Valley won't be too bad. I'm just frightened of being taken out by an over ambitious overtake. Suzuka will be the crazy one. I expect everyone will have a taste of the gravel at least twice. Very hard track :)

So if there are openings I'd like to join in this as well. I don't know which cars are available for use, but I'm sure I can manage with something. PLEASE get back to me.

Look at one of the first posts. There's a list and the only car that cannot be chosen is the Peugeot 908 (both liveries).

BK decides if there's room or not so wait for him to reply.

I saw the first post but there's been posts about people dropping out. So maybe I could take one of those cars, maybe not.

try the Pescarolo C60 Hyrbide. Its a real killer. Absolutely no one can get any where near it.

In other news I'm going to see the Senna movie today. WOO

Cheap in the OCD! There are a bunch of lmps cheap in the OCD, sadly I had most.. I think I have them all except the damn 01 R8s... Can't find a single one, lol.

can the OP be changed to show I'm now paired up with Mike in the 908? Also, Mike, would you be able to PM with a good direction for the set up? Surely you dont use the killer whale as well?

I did my first and probably my only testing at Grand Valley today, with MU. Very interesting results. After the testing I came to the conclusion of 4 things:

1) My fastest laps seem to be in the mid 1:37's (fastest being a 1:37.4). MU's was a 1:37.8 I think so I'm very happy to be ahead of him (at the moment).

2) I'm quite slow in sector 1 but claw it back through the rest of the lap, especially in sector 3.

3) The Turn 5 hairpin is a pain in the arse.

4) This is rather generally. Tyre wear seems to have taken a massie rocket in wear rate. I only managed 7 laps before my tyres were down to half way. Plus 2 laps of those laps were spent cruising. MU suffered similar wear rate. Now I'm not jumping to any conclusions but I think this could be something to do with the new update. Because tyre wear was no where near the rate it is now. I could do 9 laps at La Sarthe before with tyres above half way and now I can't even do 8 around Grand Valley. Very weird. Could be a 12 stop race lol. It was only in the softs I've tested though and I haven't had chance to test out tyres since then but I'm also wondering whether hard tyres now also perform properly. If they do this could be fantastic. There will actually be difference in tyre strategies and you could either go for the slower more durable hard or the super quick, super wearing softs.

As I said this is just me thinking this. But anyone else feel free to test and see what you think. I seriously hope it is. More pitstops = More people on different strategy = More excitement.

jamman48, i think that is not bad but compared too me it's not that good i got a 1 35 7

What the?! I'd love to see an onboard lap from you. I can't even get a that offline:sick:

We need to make a big request to the RKM guys. Tell them to make tunes for the GT-ONE, C60 Hybride, MINOLTA, Bentley, Sauber and 787B. The Killer Whale is too much. I use it as well on my 908, and it's freaking amazing.

bombe, ure completely wrong i dont use the RKM tune it's my own one its freaking amazing!, jamman make a room mate too show you

If you are still using the one you sent me once, then it's 96% of the RKM one. Only one difference in the camber if I remember correct :)

Maybe it's the Killa Whale, not the Killer Whale, lol :D
