if you guys want to run a 1 lap race with a pace car i dont care. just dont try to do it when the regular race is about to start.

when is F1 2011 Release date for PS3 ? they said 23th september lol

F1 2011 needs wheel support & a physics engine. The circuit layouts are good replica's though.

PSN wont come back until June or July it looks like. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

Really getting impatient now. It will be for the better though as long as Sony ensure something like this never happens again.

On topic: I have gotten down to 1:32s at Daytona now. That is quite slow compared to others unfortunately. I may sound stupid but I found out how to drive the 908 properly. I used to shift gear way after the red line. After watching the replay onboard Ghova, I imitated his driving style. Now by shifting before the red line, I have cut off 1 second from my lap time and there is a little more to be found too. Man am I stupid. :dunce:

This is just a rumour like the ones that it would start last Tuesday after someone received an E-mail saying one week to the restoration a week ago last wednesday. Don't believe anything until it is on the US/EU playstation blog. I know it doesn't appear trust worthy as they give estimated dates and then it gets pushed back but remember, this isn't one attack on the servers, this is three attacks. That's why the start up date is pushed back. Oh, and its a tad hard to rule out anonymous because if two people opperated to do this under the veil of anonymous, then its was anonymous.

mu675, the gear ratios are important too, Its better to shorten gear 3 And 4 too each other especially when you have àn instable car, tip: when you cOme out of à slOw corner dont let it peak too red try too short shift ! hope you Will learn something from it, i think i Will lose my consistency with the wheel after 1 month no psn. :(

Thanks for the tips. Short shifting out of slow corners is natural so that's no problem. What has everyone set their transmission to for Daytona? Mine is 236 mph, I don't know what that is in kmh.

looks like no psn for the whole month of may.

No PSN til may 31st

Arghh what?!!! You gotta be freaking kidding me! Pfff at least it gives me yet more time to practice with my wheel. I've now got in to the 1:30's at Daytona with it but I still spin a lot lol. I hate that tight right hand hairpin after you come out the pits. Losing loads of time there.

lol. I find that one of the easiest corners. I hate turn 1 and the quick chicanes down the back straight. It's like threading a needle in 4th gear! So hard to get perfect every lap. Everyone has their driving style and prefer different corners. :)

I used to hate that chicane but with a wheel I feel I can throw the car in there a lot more than before. It's so much easier. Problem is with a wheel when you get out of shape it's a lot harder to regain the car than with a pad. Turn 1 is very easy when you have a good braking point :)

Most importantly, get your top speed gearing and lsd right, and check out the Killer Whale tune for a baseline setup to start with. You'll get those times down.

Ok thanks. :) I'll work on my setup, now there is plenty of time before PSN is back up.

Guys, PSN doesn't return to a full service until 31st May. It'll be back up long before then, but not everything will be functional until then. The actual online should be up long before 31st May.

You'd better be right! :sly:

So what am I to do in the race on Daytona? Not attend? It's pre-season right, so it won't count?

Ghova, I used your setup and it works wonders. Thanks! :)

Daytona: 1:31s
Grand Valley: 1:37s
Circuit de la Sarthe: 3:24s (is this too slow?)

That says "Full services". We already know that Playstation Store won't be getting up as soon as the Network does. PSN will be up soon, maybe this week, but the Store and everything else won't be until then the latest.

Get a grip, and only take any info regarding PSN from the PS Blog, anything else can easily be propaganda being spread by a Microsoft employee.

No.

But if you didn't see my hint: Jake does 19s and 20s, I do 21s (:scared:).

lol....don't be scared. Those 319's are good laps, I'm certainly not immune to a 3.21 or a 3.24. I'm excited for this season. I hope that I have improved enough through testing, and with different car selection, along with 680 hp limit, that AS and Maverick aren't as unbeatable as before. They probably will still be total class of the field, but I have hope for now, lol. I really want to win a race this season. My shots will be probably limited to Laguna Seca, and La Sarthe, if at all.

have you all really been driving around that much practicing?

i have yet to do a single lap in a practice or arcade in the last 3weeks. im gonna run some times tomorrow to see how i stand.

Unless Mav is driving a lower-class car I think he's untouchable on Laguna Seca. La Sarthe can be anybody's race, a lot of competition for the top spots.

My chances are probably Grand Valley and La Sarthe.
