its cheaper to go to a junkyard and find a leather seat in decent condition then to buy one of those "gaming" race seats. & i think its a lot bettter, i can adjust the seat for when my friends drive

nooo, thats shared with my roommates in the living room/ man cave & the vizio looks soooo much better. i sit close enough that a bigger TV wont make any difference because i would have to sit further back.

FFS. All this talk of wheels I decided to just do a few laps online at Spa in the Audi (650 hp) with my DFGT to try out. I did a 1:58.7 on my first lap!! 7 tenths faster than my best achieved so far. Sooooo much faster with a wheel, I'm just awfully inconsistent

In comparison my router is broken, it has blackouts, which means I don't know when I have Internet and when I don't. So, when I get the new one, I'll try a different router configuration to try and see if it can get rid of my GT5 online issues. Here's hoping, not expecting though.

Yeah, because I'm awfully inconsistent. But I have just set at Spa on my 3rd lap with it at 650 hp (can't believe I'm saying this) a 1:57.9.......................

And BK, I will try to upload a picture of my set up. It is very poor. Probably as poor as the camera I will use to take the picture. The wheel stand itself is a X shaped bar designed for a keyboard to be put on. That has two pieces of 4"x2" wood bolted to it (well, the bottom piece is), and the wheel is attached to that. The X bars needs 3kg weights on the bottom so it doesn't move. The TV itself isn't that much bigger than a piece of A4 paper at the diagonal (add on 1-2 cm and your there). The TV mounting is a tiny bit too high meaning that if I sit forwards to get close, it strains my neck having too look up. The chair is comfortable. It is nicely padded and stuff. Sadly, the base isn't grippy to the ground as it is designed for an office. This means the chair can move very easily. The chair is also fallling apart and squeeks. All in all, it is dreadful. How much is a wheel stand and a chair? I mean I would love to replicate BKs chair thing.

But in all seriousness, I remember Laguna in S3 I was much faster than with a pad but never got round to practising properly. But I think it's about time I did now. I have 1.5 seconds of lap time in that wheel...

I'm going to blame my lack on speed entirely on my set up. I am even faster than Mav but the setup....

I will also blame my lack of competiveness in all video games on the fact that games are built to HD version with SD as a minor. BF3 beta proved this beyond belief. DICE are criminals if that lag isn't fixed. Although a similar problem with the NFS The Run beta makes me fear the worst.... it is a programming problem with the frostbite engine. But seriously, it would be nice to see wether getting a HD TV in December makes a difference. Worth looking I guess. Although, if it is a factor (screen size too), then you guys will never want to go to SSR5 again. I mean I'm about 1s off Jamman and TOm there. Imagine if a HD TV brought me 2s!! At every circuit, I would compete for wins. At SSR5 I would dominate. Oh well, dreams. I will test it when it happens. I hope it makes a major difference but doubt it will.


EDIT: Drum just seen your set up. That is looking nice. Sadly, my wheel has to be at waist height due to issues related to where the TV must be in my room. (There are chest everywhere meaning waist height only) so I have the most unusual design ever for a car set up thingy. It is like sitting bolt up right in an office chair with the pedals where you feet would be. Not car like at all. Just an office style. The only space I have has a BMX in it and if it is put there then I would need to re arange the room and buy thicker curtains to block the sunlight.

My stand / seat set up minus the G27 cost me 50-60 US$ the junkyard chair was 35$ + 20$ in cheap wood and screws.( also you need some power tools). I used the cheap wood from home depot. The stuff full of knots and bent up, Not good for building something usefull but it worked for this. It was 2.40$ for a 8 ft piece.


Edit : the stig has sent its report on lap times for Nurburing GP/F @ 700 HP default Set-ups. I will be posting the results later

Thats a bit of an exageration. I think its only about nine. Bit he did punch a horse to the ground and only knows two facts about ducks nd both of them are wrong. I have a poster of all of these. Mac Compatible. His politics are terifying. Etc...
