Best time to race saturdays (qualifying still starts 30 mins before)

Early SSR5 forecast:

LR Vegasracer has shown a ton of muscle here recently, and will be a favorite in any race he enters, that A7XMaverick doesn't. Jamman48 has the clear upper hand among series regulars, if he still fits that description.

Golfer199 will have his best chance for a podium this season next Saturday, at what is clearly his best track. If Jamman enters the race alongside Golfer, the two Team Vettel GPS drivers should work well together at the front of the field.

Team Bentley Speed will look to solidify their lead on the team championship, which they inherited from Team Wankel when Razor70 was forced to retire from the series with mechanical issues (lol). Jake and Seth have shown good speed and consistency in testing at SSR5, but have lacked the raw speed of the Toyotas.

Tissimo, the lone ranger for Team Wankel, will look to finish in front of Jake at all costs to narrow the championship lead of the Bentley, as the end of the season draws near. The Audi R8's of BermudaKid, Mike46, AllinwitJT, and Amf have not shown speed in early testing, but their driver lineup is strong across the board and they should improve as the week goes on. Series veterans like Bombe and Mu will look to finish high in the running order as well.

lol yes but you need to work on your race pace Tom, you were holding us up a little lol.

BTW Amf I did 2 laps in the r8 05, a 10.3 and a 9.8, so the car is capable at SSR5, you just need to get your rhythm down.

I don't think Mav or Vegas are racing in this series.. and even if Vegas managed to join the race his connection doesn't look like it'll last an hour (sorry to say that).

I don't like my Pesky anymore... took the Bentley around SSR5 and it's much easier to drive, I don't have a chance to be honest...

If Jamman, and Vegas no-show next saturday I can possibly win, would be a hell of a fight with me and Golfer...
 
I have heard rumors of golfer being fast around SSR5, but his best finish is still a 5th, and it's a big jump from 5th to 1st and his stats are quite informative. There are a bigger chance that golfer will get a DNF than a top 5 :p
 
My aim is mainly top 6. Once I achieve that (I hope I do lol) then my next step will be the podium!

Golfer's biggest challenge will be keeping his head on straight. If he stays within himself he's a 2nd place car behind Jamman. Odds of Golfer driving to his potential next seaturday, probably even money. But if he drives all the laps, he's WELL within the top 5.
 
Starting to go towards a 2 stopper now as I think I can make my tyres last the 17 laps needed. If I spin though, that plan will go out the window! :p
 
I've gotten a 7th and a 6th, so obviously I will get a 5th next ;)
I'm in 12.7 with the Pesky, once the setup is optimized I should be able to go in 11s, if not... then I'm screwed. But I remain optimistic.

Everyone, please, share your setups in the garage thread, this is not the F1 where there are a lot of money at stake ;)
 
I would love so much to race in the last race at Sarthe, but I haven't played GT5 for such a long time and I have nowhere to hook up my G27 to the PS3... :L I really miss Sarthe from GT5. rFactor has no good modern Sarthe tracks.

Still, it's great fun to just hang around in the forum. :dopey:
 
Why does bombe think I am rubbish? I am fast at SSR5 and yet bombe thinks I am rubbish. I don't recall bombe saying that AMF is going to DNF at Nurburgring. And why does bombe think I always DNF. I have DNFd a few times but that is way better than some people (Jamman signs up but usually misses the start)
 
Golfer its because i'm amazing :)

Also nurb its hard to damage your vehicle on your own where as ssr5 is up against the walls. Also hes winding you up like everyone was to me when i joined.

I have golfer covered I think. If Vegas turns up, from past experience me and him were trading low 1:10's around here for 10 laps. Intense.

I don't mean to sound rude but is there any reason we start at 1:00 now? I remember the original thinking for that was BK's work which I understand, but after Fuji and last night BK stayed in the lobby for like an hour or two after. Plus we are planning this 1.5 hour Le Mans race so we have time in reserve, clearly. I say again, if there is a reason that's fine. I don't want to compromise anyone else. But if there isn't, is there any chance the old start time could come back (aka 2:00)?

I don't think you're rubbish, but I do think some of our other guys are better... unless you have proven yourself somewhere else you are never going to be a favorite at a track.
Adam got 3rd at Nurb, and he did that by being consistently faster than everyone else. He was driving faster than Jake and Tissimo when I was hangin on to him.

Perhaps Jamman doesn't want to share his entire life with you - from 5-6.30 he has his "alone time", lol...

Somehow I missed your post but anyway, that's my plan :sly:. I'm hoping to get consistent 1:10's by Saturday then I'll be within a shot of not getting lapped! :dopey:

Consistently fast is what I am at SSR5.
 
Can't find ur quote Jake but I know the car is capable just need to get in the groove myself :)
 
Since we were already talking of S5 I must admit that I want to be in a competitive car again - a car that can win. So, I am to be found in either a 787B or an Audi in S5.

3-man teams, I was called an idiot when I purposed that myself, lol...
 
I mentioned it to Jam n golfer and they said the same :p

I really wanna be in an audi next year

MAybe the GT 1 or the 905 if the audi is unavailable.
 
I'd preferably be in the 787 as its grown on me but I do wish the Sauber Mercedes was more competitive, absolutely love the noise :(.
