Pretty much. F1 2011 isn't exactly dynamic but it is better than GT5's at the moment. I think BK said on the last page the weather settings are going to be 3 or 4 changeability.
The weather change effect determines how fast the weather changes from dry to rain and vice versa, meaning it's not random. It was just better when it was random before spec 2, then we didn't have a clue IF or WHEN it would start to rain. Now we can predict rain after xx minutes because of the weather change effect.. it's annoying.
You see, that actually makes a ton of sense. The only other way to gauge how wet the track is is how big the spray from cars is, and how quickly you're skidding off through a braking zone into a tire barrier.
I think you should have to see the conditions on the road & feel how much water is on track not see a % bar on the HUD.
But that is also a limitation on the game engine itself. The track looks the same 10% wet or 75% wet. So I don't think its there yet, maybe gt6 ( if I don't die of old age before its released)
Btw we are def starting on time tomorrow maybe even 5 mins early. Be there or be a spectator.
I heard that in GT5, racing softs work just as well in wet weather as rain tires. Is this true? Will you guys be using racing softs exclusively? I've done a ton of racing on this game...but not much rain racing lol

How much is not much? Because I wouldn't be feeling too confident as you or the person infront of you, if the first taste of wet weather you get is braking for turn 1 in the qualifying race. It's a completely different world to dry weather

Either that, or Grip Reduction was set to "low". I find most leagues race with Grip Reduction set to "high", however, which means you will be sliding about a ton on rain tires, let alone softs which will not even get you through an apex.
Lol thanks for the replies. Yeah I do think it was with grip reduction on "low" where I heard that. I've always raced mainly when it's on "real" anyway. Just making sure.
