Those pictures are awesome :)

The start was hilarious when you watch the replay back. Every single person bar Jake went skating straight on at turn 1. Jake then made up for it by going off at turn 2 lol :sly: Helped my race though as I managed to get in to the lead and away before Paginas and MU's spins going up Dunlop, which caught everyone up.

I didn't spin at turn one! I spun before the start line and took turn 1 flawlessly xD

What surprised me was in the practice after the qualifier but before the race, I was the third fastest when the course was between 25-40% wetness.
But at 100% wetness I can't control the car as well... got close to a few 21's but I spun out on the last corner because I tried to push more than the grip I had. If I was more consistent I may have been able to stick near the middle of the pack...
And then there's Jamman with his 2:09.3

Your over hyping me. It was only a 2:09.5 actually :sly:

Tyre wear is horrible in the rain. Coming up to my first pit stop I was in the 2:15's :scared: But to my surprise I was still pulling away from Jake so I just thought in my head it must be much worse for him which reduced my concern lol

is there any benchmark i can aim for at Spa? i'm new in this series i am a decent racer (not that great).

1:58's I would think would make you reasonably competitive :)

Top pace will be 1:56's probably but that's only gonna be from a select few drivers. Probably just me and pj at the moment

Shut up.

Aim for 2 minutes per lap.

hopefully Jamman's blinding speed will become too much a strain on his internet connection.

But as bombe said, 2 minute lap and if you need to make up time, work on the middle sector. Especially the run from Les Combes to the exit of Pounte.

My tire wear was actually pretty good, except my overall times weren't as spectacular as the leader's, obviously. I comfortably made my pit stop on lap 14. As for lap 1 turn 1, that was hilarious! Because of the water spray, no one could see, so one by one, everyone followed each other into the run-off area :ouch: Good thing there IS a run-off area there. I should have taken a pic of it, but it would have been tough to capture the moment lol

And are we OFFICIALLY doing rain at Spa, or is the hate for water way too strong at this point?

Did you have rain for the entire race at Suzuka? God help you if that is.

I have no hate for the water (as I'm quite used to driving in the rain IRL cuz I live in Denmark, lol), but what I do have hate for is terrible weather system PD has implemented instead of the new one. I think it would be ok to decide before the race if we want it to rain or not.

I want the results from yesterday, all I know is that Jamm the Homme won by more than 2 minutes (which is a new record). How many actually finished the race and did my competitors lose any unneccessary points (yeah right, lol).

Starting on my project from Wednesday till the 21st. Wish me luck and remember, I won't have much time for practice.

I'm kinda glad it rained at Suzuka, but also disappointed. I'm much quicker when it's not raining and can actually keep up, but my tires wear in 5 laps. If it stopped raining and stayed around 25-40% I would have been so happy. That's the sweet zone for my 787B.

My friend added chassis reinforcements without me knowing to my 787B and now it's not as good >.> I used to get 2:01's with ease at Spa and now I can only manage about 2:03's... assuming I take Eau Rouge flat which is now much trickier... may need to get a new 787.

I knew I had zero chance of winning Suzuka so after about lap 5 when bahamut and paginas quit I just kept trying to set new best laps. Shaved off about 10 seconds from practice last week. I'm happy enough with that alone.

Oh, and bombe...
Started at 88%, and just kept rising to 100%. Stayed there for all 26 laps. I completed 21 and a half. First rain race ever, and the chassis reinforcements completely changed how the car handled (kinda wish my friend asked me about it first...)

btw Drum I don't know if your doing a race edit for Suzuka but I think this song would fit well.

I think when it breaks in to the main chorus at 0:45 would be a good time to show everyone charging (too fast) in to turn 1 :D But idk it's up to you.

Twixtor and slomo crash sequence in 3...

Video of Nero - Promises

Dubstep + race cars always works well. Great song but it goes better with Spa and F1 cars (race edit ftw). I think Drum could end up using Tom Yorke - And it rained all night. I think that Pendulum - Watercolour or Propane Nightmares would go well. Also, check out TeamLotusGT5 on youtube. He has a race edit of a touring car race (Grand Valley Race 2) and the start is just epic.

I'm going to look into some capture card stuff and that come the new year. There aren't an games coming out so if I find a good one for cheap and there is nothing else to spend money on then I will get one.

And then there's that Glitch Mob 1 hour long mixtape.

No, dubstep is for yobish hommes such as yourself. Pendulum isn't bad, but it has to be Witchcraft ;)

Or maybe Butterflies and Hurricanes by Muse. God, I remember listening to that for the first time on F1 2005 on PS2. Best game intro ever! Although I don't know how that would go with the race on Saturday lol

Aim for 2 minutes per lap.

1:58 at least can land you a podium, if you can keep that going consistently. Rce pace is looking like 1:57-1:59, with 2:00's at the end of the stint. But, as GT5's weather always is, expect rain.

I've done lots of laps in the rain here, so looking good for me. Watch out for oversteer at the top of Eau Rouge in the rain as the suspension decompresses.

Pole position time will be between 56.8 and 57.2, give or take. Depends on the weather and however we feel at the time. I should consider refreshing my engine and chassis though, and buying a Chassis reinforcement, it would probably help get me a few tenths. I did a 57.1 first time round, but anytime after that, while i'd gain heaps in S1, I couldn't keep it together in S2. Audi blitzes me in S2, so plan is to, get ahead in S1, let dirty air take care of Jam in S2, and speed away in S3, and repeat until I win the race. Brilliant plan!

A benchmark time, not a superstar time.

If one can do 2 minutes consistently they will beat you, Peter. If you show up...

This is also great:

I know that 9 out of the 11 drivers finished. Idk the exact results. I could obviously watch the replay again, but I'm in the middle of something at the moment.

Really? bombe, I can do 1:57's-1:58's conistently, in case you were wondering.

👎

Anyway, you're right, 2 minutes is a better benchmark.

Maybe come to a race and we might believe any of what you say

Not even gonna take Jamman's word for it?

I may not win, but saying that a man with consistent 2 minute lap times will beat me, I find a tad offensive. It's partially my fault for talking up myself before a race, then missing it, but come on, i'm not useless.

A very welcoming bunch of guys in this series.

I think we are a bit hard on each other @ times but I welcome all new guys. The 3 we had this weekend were awesome.

on that note...

but come on, i'm not useless.

I gotta figure out which car I want. I'm not sure I want the Bentley anymore. I think I might join the 787B team or someone else. Tire wear for me is pitiful. 1:58's are going to be hard to do at Spa with the other cars. The Toyota might be able to reach them, but nothing will touch the Audi's (sadly). Too much D/F.

Jamman is a homme, besides, he win anyway.

And you know, race pace is not as fast as your practice laps, considering most of us will have battles which can cost up to 2-3 seconds per lap. Remember, we aren't racing with strong slipstream anymore.

Peter did do a low 1:57 while I was there. In the interests of fairness though he also spun off twice in a 3 lap race. So the consistency could still use some work

I can't even remember what I did in Spa and if I tried now it would be 2:10 laps since I haven't even touched these cars for a month or two .

On a side note, all the smileys have santa hats now! :dopey:
