This may be fun for some people, the purpose of this thread is just to bring up memories from way back in the past that the rest of us forgot about. I don't have much time to post too many right now since I have a final exam in a few hours, but I'll get things started.

The closing of How Many Replies Can We Get, and the chaos afterwards. A lot of people were pretty pissed off when it came down, and some even left.

When Klostrophobic was still around to ridicule anybody and everybody making stupid posts.

Mayorbill11, who had a major chip on his shoulder, but still made some of the funniest and most angry posts ever seen here.

The battle of the Rumple Club (who included everybody) and Pass & 'll (who excluded everybody)

That guy who posted the "I SHOULD ME ADMIN!!" thread.

Back when it seemed that half of GTP's members had viper somewhere in their username.

When putting as many car clubs in your signature as possible was all the rage.

When my user name was sublimedood10.

Doug's GTP news ticker marquee.

Also, dudebusta/robin/____/ and his mysterious disappearance.

Feel free to add your own, whether it was a year ago, or four.

You don't get the same sort of nostalgia now that we had back then, you know.

When Touring Mars' (or was it Daan's?) "Congrats on being a Super Moderator" thread was hijacked into a thread about donuts (with some rather sickening repercussions).

When the Convo Forum got closed.

Pass and 'll was weird especially when it came back earlier last year and member 'The Anti-Board' joined.

FSM and IPU (the latter is actually a member here!)

When people still played GT3 (back in late 2003) people had put what tires and what car
they used for drifting and how many HP the car had etc in their signatures...urghhh. :dunce:

The GTP elections,

The Colour Blue.

All good fun!

Haha, I remember those elections, I think I was in Klos's party, which narrowly got beaten out by Sn00pie's.

The best part about the Colour Blue was how you could always expect Doug to edit something new and completely irrelevant into the first post.

I remember when Lebsta was still around.

Citizens Raging Aginst Mobile Phones.

When HMRCWG Always had atleast 5 members posting.

Rumple Foreskin.

The test forum.

Edit: When i was known as DcHamHam

When BlazinExtreme (Now BX) told us about his "car accident" and how he was in the hospital...but some of you guys could not piece the puzzle together with all he was saying and he confessed.

Nothing against BX, I just thought it was a nice moment of GTP history.

The first time I replyed to a post from CobraGT, oh god that guy did my head in .

The elections! The Party of Exhibitionists Not Interested in Sex, was the best. Screw that S.N.N.P. (or whatever it was) noise.

Also, the first few pages of The Colour Blue were probably the best pages of GTP anywhere.

How about when I actually got into discussions about Gran Turismo? (We're going waay back here.)

I remember when the drifting forum was full of civil people, and the 12year old AOL "fad" wasnt around.

Was none of the SMS or txt talk like their is now.

thread

I'll also say when I actually went into the Gran Turismo sections of this board. Last time I went in I came across a raging forest fire because ultrabeat (was it?) said that horses should be in GT5.

I personally think the drift forums are much more civilized and well moderated now than they used to be, they used to be full of complete and utter morons. There used to be an extreme prejudice towards the drifters.

Anybody remember when Klos tried to join MONKEY D!!!!!

edit: while searching for something I saw that MistaX made this same thread 2 years ago or so, although I totally forgot about it. Mods, you can close this if you want, but I figure that it was such a long time ago that a new thread is appropriate.

Great moments:
- Duke's "Get a Civic...just like everyone else" avatar.
- Milefile ripping up every stupid newbie, tastefully.
- Snoopy...being sn00py. I'll never figure him out.
- Klostrophobic as one of the all-time funniest members of this forum.
- M5Power/Doug...whatever he is.
- The death of 1337-speak.
- Me should be mod man! (So piss-poor, but so funny.)
- Probably 100-200 members, and thousands of posts from a bunch of you that have made my day around here.

Moments that made me wonder why the heck I waste my time here:
- Tercel_driver's incessant whining.
- Allah_Almighty and his repeated attempts to bother us.
- Young_Warrior's long-overdue immolation. (Hey! I'm noticing underscore people don't rate very highly in my book!)
- Jazza/Sandstorm....enough already!
- 12-year-olds who tried to convince us that they had driven GT-Rs.
- The plethora of duplicate users.
- Drifting/Nitto/Avatar/Signature questions in every damn forum.
- That $30,000-entry-fee rally that flooded our PM inboxes.
- Anyone who says "owned" and "pwned" and won't spell anything worth a lick.
- The death of the Test Forum. (Oh well, I can't always agree with the mods.)

Remember when sUn/cobraking13, stole a no longer active mods account and banned all of the members who called him out for being a moron? I also remember when he fell for Doug's relationship question thread. His attempts at proper English were hilarious as well.

I'm talking about before then also.

Dropout.
The obnoxious walama craze. Dates back to early 2003 in these parts.

Numberous "Guess what the ____ Police drive!" threads.
