GTP unsafe???

I was doing my usual thing here in lurking mode (not signed in), and I got this warning from my security program...

That would have come from a banner ad on the page. I'll pass that along to the ad network, but neither you nor GTPlanet were ever in any danger. That's a wildly exaggerated (and inaccurately phrased...) error message from Microsoft Security Essentials.

That's what I thought to be honest @Jordan , that A) it was a banner ad (as it's happened before both here on GTP and on other sites), and B) no danger involved. MSE has given me erroneous "terror threat" messages before, and it's getting annoying to be honest.

I've even tried to replicate the situation to help narrow it down for you people, but to no avail. If it does happen again, I'll try to pay attention to what ads are popping up at the time.

A better idea would be to get an ad blocker and whitelist GTP. That way, on the off-chance you get an MSE security warning again, you can block the offending site and alert the moderators without risking having it load any malicious code onto your PC.
