Haven't really been able to play this week, I had a test today and another one tomorrow, and I have a third on monday. Marks are extremely important right now, because they get submitted to universities at midterm, in around April. I also have a university interview on Tuesday, so I have to prepare for that as well, and finish some supplementary applications.

I'll hopefully be racing with you guys next week, that is if I can buy the cars involved by then and I can find some time.

Hey, don't worry about it - your school work is WAY more important! We'll be here when you get more free time!

👍

Wow !!! I'm rusty and/or very bad at Rally ! I got two 2'30.xxx ! I have to do something about that this weekend ;) !

:gtpflag:

Haven't had the chance to run the cars yet. Though I got 2'32.xxx for Lan Evo GSR and 2'31.xxx for the Escort last Monday after running 3laps each. I hope I can run laps on Monday.

My first times:

Escort - 2'24.7xx
Lancer - 2'26.2xx

I'm not good at Chamonix, so I don't expect any competitive times from me.

I really like this track and the tarmac section is my favourite (I really feel the rally essence there) though is a shame PD changed that on GT5:grumpy:

Well I want to share a replay of my run with the Escort that I think hit the walll on the bridge before the forest section :ouch: so please review it and tell me what you think guys.

p.s. I had a hard time trying to catch up with some of your times, it wasn't till last night that I made some adjustment on my driving and racing line and started to improve considerably my times so, good job and good luck to everyone!👍

I like the course too (though it is quite difficult)!

I watched your replay and the 'hit' in question is so light that I can't definitively say that, "yes, you did hit the wall". The camera didn't come to an abrupt stop like it does when you smack a wall normally. It's really a 50/50 call and I tend to err on the driver's side in those cases. From my perspective, I say it's OK.

I'm not sure if I'll have the time to play more and post before deadline so I first post these two to secure the -low ;)- points !

EDIT : message updated -see next post-.

First of all, sorry about the large photos. :( ImageShack doesn't work so I changed to PhotoBucket, but I need to get used to the different tools and such.

Onto my times. My favourite car this challenge would be the Evo VI, only because it feels less of a 4WD and more of a FR, so I can flick its back end easily. :)

Ford Escort Rally Car: 2'23.314

Combined time: 4'46.735

This may not be my final times. I have time tonight and tomorrow to do some extra laps.

I only had the time to run before lunch and before dinner, here are my updates and as I have a very busy day tomorrow, I think they will be my submission times :

Ford Escort Rally Car '98 : 2'25.941

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car '99 : 2'25.918

Total : 4'51.849

I have to say, if I'm still not a GT Rally fan, I did enjoy this -frustrating ;)- challenge !

Good luck ! And see you next challenge !

Chamonix is probably one of my three least used GT PSP tracks, but I actually had fun driving on it. And not only did I have fun, but I also got respectable times too! I guess I had to stop trying to be so impatient (stop giving too much throttle too early) and just slow down and hug the inside turns tightly.

Ford Escort: 2'23.707

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo: 2'24.680

I hope to see you all at Apricot Hill Raceway!

👍

I also had a lot of fun this week too. After struggling for a few hours on the first day I realized that it's more about throttle control and preventing the car from skidding too much (or too little). I'm also pretty proud of my times!:)

Combined Time - 4'47.127

See you all on the hill!
👍👍👍

(On a side note, my best time on this track was 2'23.300 with the Ford, but I hit the bridge wall.)

WTAC Week 40
Having a very busy week, I had very limited track time exposure. 5Laps single races and 10laps Time Trials for each car. My fastest lap was with the Escort at 2'20.655, But after checking the replay, Got that "soft crash" sound on one the enbankments.I consider this unclean.
I differentiated the enbankment sounds to 2 types:
SOFT CRASH-(front or rear bumper hitting the invisible track limits)
and
BUMPING THUD-(car bottoming out/bumping the ground due to low ride height)
As expected the Lan Evo VI corners superbly while the Escort got great acceleration out of hairpins.

My times this week:
Course: Chamonix / Reverse

Vehicle: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Rally Car'99
Time: 2'21.546
Professional
SNW / SNW

Vehicle: Ford Escort Rally Car '98
Time: 2'21.154

Combined Time:
4'42.700

See you next week!!
