I'm done with the FGT. Its not fun anymore!. No matter the setting the car behave the same. Count me on the conspiracy theorist that say PD dumbed down the car to make the Ferrari looks better. I have no major problems with any turn, only 1 and 2, the fastest way around them I found was going about 170km/h in turn 1 and then flatout all the way to turn 6 but this is easier say than done, the car keeps spinning out for no reason something I think a car like this shouldn't do at high speed.

uhmm, we can't really compare the monster rally machine against a Formula 1 car. The monster Escudo excels primarily on Uphill rally racing and the PD Formula GT excels on Tarmac.

5 laps for Skyline HT
1'17.xxx

Haha yeah I know that - I was asking cause since I don't really want to miss on the fun, at least I use the Escudo. Of course, with no "official" competing, but oh well, just for fun.

I have 1:04:2xx with the Escudo so far (clean), although I think I can do it in one minute. I still haven't got the Skyline - been checking every two days for it so it'll eventually appear.

So yeaaaaah, still 1:40.1 with the RUF.

I found a way to make it slightly more manageable - I gave it the same toe settings as the Ferrari F2007: -50 front / +50 rear

I still have some trouble at turns 2 and 6, but at least I can make some clean laps (even if they are slow)!

To me, the main limitation to using this car (and a few other high-powered vehicles in this game) is the lack of graduated levels for the throttle/brake. With the current 'full-throttle' or 'no-throttle' action of the X (and brake button), it makes precision driving very difficult.

I gave up on the F-GT yesterday (apparently I suck at driving F1 cars :grumpy:) and started using the Yellow Bird instead. After about 2 hours and a lot of failed tuning attempts I got it down to 1'36.6xx. 👍

Gonna play around with the little Skyline now. :D

I had run sessions with the Skyline and the Yellowbird with times of 1'14.5xx and 1'36.1xx.
I don't see me improving much on those times (maybe the Yellowbird one since is virtualy imposible to run a perfect lap there) so these are provably my final times.

Great 0'53.722 time with the FGT Dan360 👍

Afraid I am not going to get a chance for any more running so I will submit what times I have so far.

F-GT - 0'54.796

RUF - 1'37.948

Skyline - 1'15.823

Total - 3'48.567

Great 0'53.722 time with the FGT Dan360 👍

Thanks Sylar!

Congratulations on the baby! :)

My final times for this week. Photos wont upload unfortunately.

Polyphony Digital Formula Gran Turismo - 0'53.369
RUF CTR "Yellow Bird" - 1'36.117
Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-R - 1'14.681

Combined time: 3'44.167

Just a note: After watching MVR's hot lap of the FGT, I noticed that he was using manual tranmission. I tried it but keeping control of the car, setting a hot lap and changing gears quickly was too challenging for me. Great job as always from MVR! 👍 I did however try out manual for the Yellow Bird as well as the Skyline, and it helped me to set faster times. I think i'll be using manual over the coming few weeks. ;)

Happy birthday to the WTAC series!

First of all, congrats! Easy!! and what a challenge this week was!
I tested your advice Detroitbb and it helped a little but my main gripe with her is that she didn't want to cooperate and make the changes needed to fix this relationship, so is over I filled for divorce.

and here's my entry, I'm not really satisfied with any of these times specially the Yellow Bird 'cause I kept on getting 1'35.8xx but with sparks or a wheel off the track. I might try again tonight and update my entry if I do manage to get a clean lap under 1'36.

I used this week as sort of a 'rest' period - not too much driving took place on my son's PSP. I did devote about 20-25 minutes last night lapping with the PD Formula GT and the Skyline, but I haven't even touched the Ruf Yellowbird in a couple of days (I knew that it would frustrate me, so I didn't attempt run many laps with it). I spent my time reading a book on theoretical physics and another on organic chemistry. Oh, and I spent a decent amount of time watching NHL hockey playoffs.

I feel a bit more refreshed and ready to go for the upcoming challenges!

I certainly hope to see everyone as we resume the current racing session at Twin Ring Motegi East Short Course!

After receiving confirmation of the winner's replay files, I'll make the official announcement for this special WTAC anniversary event. Thank you for your patience!

:(
After capturing my PD FGT replay for Youtube Uploading, I saw that it was unclean. For this WTAC 1st yr anniversary challenge, red ice did not qualify.
:(

First of all, I want that thank all competitors past and present for making the WTAC the success that it is - without all of you, we'd be nothing.

Secondly, I want to congratulate our winner Lion-Face for the victory in our anniversary event. Way to go, Lion-Face!!!

Third, I want to thank the past hosts from both the TAC and WTAC (Shigegaki, Glubags, and easyasashii). It was only through their hard work and dedication that we are able to have the joy of competition that we do today. Thank you!
