I wouldn't have 6 hours to invest in a weekly tt... Lucky if I can find a few hours to run in a normal week between work and other stuff, so running stupid amounts of time on the qualifier will just see me in too high a division (like gt5 - I'm not a d1g driver).
Of course if I like a combo i'll spend more time on it purely because it's enjoyable. If not, I'll just run it until I've had enough.
Correct 👍Hopefully last question. Just watched Oinks video (great tutorial) and reread the submission paragraphs. Am I right in understanding that we do not have to tally and submit our times as the replays will be sufficient?

I wasn't referring to you when I made my statements above as you are already at the top of the heap. But for someone like me, I need all the practice I can get. And if by chance, I do place in a higher division than I am able to compete with, well, instead of crying about it, it's just going to make me work that much harder to keep up with the guys. That's the exact reason why I have a bunch of high ranking people on my friends list.![]()
The more I run Willow, the more I like it. Its a track to be respected, especially with this car. You just can't go into it with guns a blazing and hope for the best. You have to slowly massage her a little, treat her curves with a sense of tenderness and you will be greatly rewarded. Yes, I am having a deep love affair with this track....we have become one.![]()
As has been stated before.. your best effort. No sandbagging.I´m in.
I was Div 2 Bronze the last 2 times. I´ll try for Div 3 Bronze this time. So I can join WRS without spending hours a week to be reasonably classified.
Well, what-do-you-know about that? A desert rat..imported from Detroit!![]()
Like stated before, I don't mind in wich division I will end up, but I will try everything to get my best time submitted, even if that means I will need more then 12-15 hours on each combo. Like Cargo, I need to get into it, I am just not able to get in the car and be fast in 8-10 laps like some of the 'aliens' that are part of this community. I have also found myself in positions in GT5 that I ran TT's on a division 2 level, where some times with the same efforts I hardly managed to reach a division 4 level. If I step away a few weeks or even days from GT, I need the time to get back in to the 'zone', maybe I have reached a certain age that makes it more difficult to stay op to speed, and pace like I sometimes am able to.....
You are only allowed to have one GTPlanet account.Do you need two GT planet accounts or just one.
Thank's Shane.
And we also say,As has been stated before.. your best effort. No sandbagging.
Good to see you here. 👍 You running the qualifier?
Ok break time, i know i can beat my brands time just need it all to click together
Yep, break time for me too. Got to get something to eat, chill a bit, then back at it.
Frustrating when you cant pull that lap together knowing you can smash your lap by a second *sigh*
👍 This is exactly how it is for me.Yep, that's when you know its time to step back and take a break for awhile. I have found that in any given session, I usually peak about 30-45 minutes in and lasts about 30 minutes. After that, my efforts start falling off and I end up doing nothing but running meaningless laps. I take about an hour break, then go right back to it...repeating the process. Other people may find different experiences, but that's how it works for me.
Hello there. I guess now is a good time for me to crawl out of my cave and try to join the ranks of GTP, as I'm looking for ways to improve my (rather lacking) driving skills and have a nice friendly competition with other fans of the series, especially since TTs seem to be the form of racing I enjoy the most (about 85% of my current driving time must be on the seasonals). I still have a lot of rust to shake off though, as I haven't played any racers since GT4, but learning is part of the fun, right?
Already took some practice laps on the Megane and it's been fun challenge so far. I'm sure I'll be driving around the springs enough to hear the tire screeching in my dreams for a couple of weeks to get a decent lap time.
Also noticed that I've registered on these forums in 2006 and I think I made my first forum post like 4 days ago, now that's a long time of lurking.
👍 This is exactly how it is for me.
I also never load my best time ghost when I start a new session, I start from scratch and race a new ghost.
I find that if you chase the same ghost for too long, you do nothing different lap after lap.
Creeping along nicely on both, getting really into brands hatch now, such a blur!!
I've done about 5 hours now, maybe 6. About half way. I'll do the max I would ever in a weekly TT on this qualifier, want to be higher up this time round and not have seven mountains to climb![]()
Don't worry - if you're spending anywhere close to 30 minutes on one of my replays, it won't be because I went dirt-tracking. My replays may be ugly, but I always try to get them sponsored by Zest.Yes, think about the staff for just one second, we have to check all the replays.
Currently we got 900+ members in the registry, say we get 300 submissions for the initial batch, that means a LOT of work (600 replays). If we have to spend 30 minutes checking your replay to make sure it's valid, your chances for getting accepted are pretty slim...
So it's in your own favour to make sure you submit a lap that is clearly clean. You don't want to run the risk the be DQ-ed as we don't want to spend 30 minutes on each replay making sure it's clean.
