Probably .750 left, but I'm done. RIP Allan Simonsen :(

Looking forward to the new TT this week! I can do 20 minutes in the seat until pain gets too much. But Man gotta do what Man gotta do. Right Chris and Mitch? HEH HEH

Yeah, shocking that... I still can't believe that was actually a fatal accident. :ill:

No tyre barrier where he hit Chris, and also very little time to slow the car between losing control and impact.

RIP Allan...

RIP Allan Simonsen

Such sad news for the sport, feel so sorry for the family and the team, they deserved a win in class in his memory. :(

Back to this TT, haven't been allowed any seat time this weekend, the missus decided she wanted to redecorate the kitchen AND living room this weekend... paint, carpet and furniture etc.... so abit rushed now to pull the lap out I need.

Still more time to get, but improved at the line with these splits:

38.196
41.677
33.788
28.312
34.680

I am looking forward to see the replays tomorrow for the low sector 1 times. I have hit 38.9, but the low 38s some of you guys are posting is beyond me.

Going to try a few more tomorrow ater work, but I think this might be the best I can do. Splits 1 - 5 a little worse than previous, but improved at the line.

Fixed my time, saw it show on leaderboard as me in the lead, looked good for a few seconds.

Got a better lap, I was slower than before at some corners but the opening sector and the final sector were way faster.
New splits:

38.745
41.815
34.032
28.074
34.789

Thought I should show these since I haven't had much time this last week to really apply to this but I did play in the shadows :) GL all 👍

Submitted and out ..........

Was hoping to get more sessions with this, but my son was sick and kept me up (not driving) last night. Only got a few clean laps in in 4 hours tonight. Here's my tale of comedy, then:

Woeful T6:

38.556
41.574
34.018
28.035
35.075

Darth Vader couldn't have done a better job choking me than I did myself in T7:

38.27
41.631
34.208
27.917
34.959

This lap was actually clean, but GT5 says "no". Apparently that left rumble at Indianapolis (before the run down to Arnage) is very naughty; red flag. I know I'm far from alone in that particular frustration, but that one was just dumb :banghead: [/vent]

38.211
41.323
34.227
27.838
35.112

The get-one-clean-compromise lap:

38.429
41.716
34.007
27.804
35.241

It'll have to do. Submitting.

Wow, nice splits Ren, shame about mulsanne to arnage, you'd be we'll up there otherwise!

I'm done with this and submitted, but feeling pretty slow! Managed about 40 laps. This track is incredible though :)

Need some clarification with the track boundaries, are these pics clean or dirty ?

Sorry for the low quality/bad taken pictures!

Please study the OP carefully. The rules in red and the pictures should spell it all out. My quick guess is that only the last 2 are legal, but I'm unclear on where the last pic is on-track.

Okay So I did another session of about half an hour and improved but not enough in my opinion. At times I was 0.7 seconds ahead of my ghost but knocking down 1 little green pillar ruined the whole lap. I tried over and over to get the same time but every time something happened that ruined it. So these are my final splits:

38.367
41.947
34.016
28.087
34.848

I see, but Jammy's question put me on extra thoughts since the white boundary lines are like the white road lines on the straights. Thanks anyway!

It does beg the question, #1 + #2 are definitely illegal, and I don't see you running that line at speed without hitting a cone :D

#3 + #4 are hard to judge, because even the curb is a foot past the white lines. There are no white lines down Mulsanne as it is public road, therefore the edge of the track is determined by the barriers, the chicanes are part of the permanent track, and have solid white lines, which in my opinion makes 3 + 4 illegal too.

#5 is legal, the OP shows this, however going quite as wide as that must be losing you time on turn in?

#6 is the exit of Mulsanne, and I would say it is legal providing GT doesn't red your lap, I personally haven't ventured that wide on the exit. Again public road, no solid white line.

GTP_ealirendur D2 Silver +0'01.624
GTP_Insatiable D2 Gold +0'01.664

what a fight for final overall podium place, and from all 3 D2 classes :D

Solid lap I'd say, except that I messed up T4 and T7.
Not in a mood improving more than that, but I know there is a second in there !

GTPCaine said "It does beg the question, #1 + #2 are definitely illegal, and I don't see you running that line at speed without hitting a cone"

So are hitting cones dirty even if 2 tires are on tarmac and game does not red flag the lap? I see in the rules the part of no contact with walls or objects, are cones considered objects? If so, then how do you determine if you would have hit a cone after they are knocked over from the previous lap?

EDK
  • No Contact with walls or other objects. Any contact with walls, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ. This includes cones and Green Bollards!
Seems pretty clear.

Bollards knocked over on previous laps should still be considered to be there - they will show up in the Fastest Lap replay and therefore will still result in contact and DQ

Typically with any track-side movable objects, when you save a best-lap replay, it will reset them all to their original positions when you go to view the replay. Laguna has some weirdness with this, but try it here, you'll see.

EDIT: Chris is faster! :ouch:

Based on the discussion earlier, I'm withdrawing my lap; I've likely exceeded the boundaries in the Mulsanne chicanes. I've always driven those as if they are road markings rather than boundary lines, and used the kerbs (the game does also).

Hi Guys ,

Had a quick go tonight , Really wish i had more time for this TT as i really started enjoying it ...

Actually quite frustrated at the moment, just can't seem to string a decent lap together. Posting a banker lap in case I can't manage to pull it together before deadline, its a scruffy lap with a few mistakes, but slight improvement on previous best at the line.
