GTP_WRS Week 06 : Multiple Car Choice @ Daytona Road

After reading the results thread for the IFTC race at Daytona, I had a closer look at my replay for this week. Unfortunately, I have three wheels off at the first part of the bus stop, just like holl01 did in the IFTC race.

I had to use Jerry's great technique of driving backwards around the track to watch my ghost in order to see the off, but it's definitely there. (Why can't PD just give us slow-motion or snapshot capabilities? Checking replays gets worse with each version of GT. anyone else have fond memories of the data logger from GT3? :lol: ) Hopefully I'll get a chance to run another session on Sunday night... if not, good luck to everyone 👍

The moral of the story is, don't assume your run is clean just because you didn't get a penalty, the game is more forgiving than the Sphinx! :ouch:

I had the same problem aswell. :ouch: I'm wondering though, I reviewed my lap a few times, the left rear tyre is touching the kerb, and my front left is touching the white line. So will my lap stand or not ?

Finally managed to test all cars. One for me is a definate no no, still not quite sure on the other two.:confused:
Have seen faster splits for both cars but never on the same lap. :grumpy:
More practice needed I think.

On a right-hander?

The white line, is presumably referring to the white line between rumble strip and tarmac? If you have 2 wheels on the track (white line and rumble strip ARE track) then you are fine.
 
At last I have some split times that are respectable enough to post! just hope I have choosen the right car to keep using!! I really need to get all my best splits in one run, I keeping getting a better final time but with some splits 0.3 slower than my last best run. I think the leader board shows this with a lot of people.

Small improvement at T2, but much better exit speed from the chicane and thus 0.6 faster over the full lap...

Am I the only one finding it interesting how the splits on the leaderboard show that it's practically D1-D2-D3-D4-D5

Very few people breaking into the group above theirs.
 
New splits. Darn, this is one great combo. I have seen a slightly better T1 and more than better T3, but for the rest I'm at my limit. This T4 is only .15 s faster than my previous split, but I gained .35 at the finish line. Enough to bring one big happy smile to my face. :D

Everytime I do this combo I try a different car, and everytime I get a little faster. I have used all 3 twice (about 10 starts each time) and I still don't have a favorite for this combo. I think there is one that I am a little faster with, hopefully I will get more time behind the wheel this weekend.

Potentially i have a little room for improvement, but i can't link it all together.

Losing time in turn 6, just cant get it right. Oh well i'll have another bash tomorow. I've got to the stage now where my laps times are decreasing one by one as the hours roll by.

Frustrating but one of my favourite combos so far.

EDIT...I looked at my replay, and there was one questionable corner...were my wheels on the white line or off the track? So I tried it again and got 0.2 seconds off my lap time!

Some very nice splits here from everyone - I just got home from a trip and go back out for another 4 days tomorrow so I'm probably not going to get to submit something for this one. Can't wait to watch some of the replays though. Good Luck All!
 
OK, so I have tried another car for the last 3 sessions and only got within an eighth of a second. :indiff:

I went back to my original car (previous splits) and improved by quite a bit. :sly:

I'm still going with the same car and am getting more and more the hang of it:

Had another session, and got a time only a little slower than my previous (dirty) best:

T1: 0'34.604
T2: 1'03.791
T3: 1'22.442
T4: 1'41.397

There's still .300 left before T2, so I'm hoping to improve a little more...

Still a couple tenths to be had, though this may be my submission run.
