interesting track choice...
I can't tell if I love it or hate it.

It's the half of Suzuka that I don't drift on, so it'd be something new to figure out.
But everything is so spaced out there.

I agree... I'm used to the other half, which I absolutely love... Haven't really drifted this half much... MR is a good drivetrain choice for this track though... It's easy to pull long stable drifts with MR's, so some of the longer turns should be a breeze... I haven't decided if I'm going to be involved or not... I'll give it a few run throughs, and see if I like the track enough to participate... I'm not very competitive, so I don't usually enter competitions, but I do love the ease of control that MR's allow... I'm still thinking about it... We'll see... If I don't join in, I'll be happy to judge...

Your rules don't specify how to take it

Oh well, how many ways are there?
I only know one.

clear! Bzzzzzt!

*beep beep*

i have a replay ready, but its not quite as good as i would like, so ill keep trying......
still trying.....
why is a perfect lap with my car so hard to do? lol

A perfect lap on that track IS hard.... I haven't been able to make one yet.. and I'm having doubts if I'll even make it.

A perfect lap on ANY track is hard. I have to be honest. When I judge I take into account the pressure of trying to do a full lap. That's why I like the idea of focusing on specific corners and not the entire track(being the straights and non-drift areas)

I agree .. a perfect lap for me is a series of good corners and links, not really counting the straights.. and the obvious make-or-break corners on this track are crazy hard... turn 1, possibly into 2+3 (hell 2+3 is  by itself), degner, spoon :scared:

May I humbly suggest Autumn Ring mini for the next GTDPC?

But....that's almost ALL driftable corners! :scared: :)

that'd be awesome.

I'm of the same voice as Ske and Swift.
In the first GTPDC the back half of my lap got very ragged and much less pretty. I goth through turn 1 and 2, as well as turn 7 on AH on the same lap - after that there was so much pressure not to blow it that I started cutting drifts short and dropping the angle.

I think at this early stage in GT4 there is still not the talent on this forum to get many excellent entries when we are using a full course. (I don't mean to offend anyone) And that's assuming a driftable course.

It's not like it was in GT3 where you could hold the challenge on Monaco and recieve 3 or 4 'perfect' entries (yes, I'm stll in awe of Pergatory's lap in his 240sx). We just aren't there yet.

Tossing things like HK2 or Suzuka West at people is an even larger turn-off. I think the selected tracks need to be simpler and offer many different line possibilites and links to promote greater participation and more impressive vids. The winner should be who drifts the course best... not who can do the most damage control and mess up the least.

Or as Swift says, limit the competition to a single sector or sequence of turns if you do want to increase the difficulty.

I LOOOVVEEE Suzuka, I did some crazy things there. Linking some hard corners but best of all (not in this east track) drifting the last 2 corners!! I love Suzuka!!!!

Anyway to my point, I just wondered myself what MR cars are really driftable, and Sheron posted it up but most were race cars so here's the non race car list if anyone is still looking *I dun think so but well.....*

*Too lazy to make hyperlink and stuff;)*
Anyway I thought these things were boring for me cause I dun have a cap card but I'm gonna do it on my own *without posting an entry offcourse*. Looks like fun:)

Autumn Ring Mini would be great, use cars 3900mm and shorter lol (or not)
amatuer: 1 lap
pro: 2 laps?

i can link almost the whole course with the autozam (123 hp) and easily the whole course with bigger cars.
Deep forest might work, but not Trial Mountain, too many people choose that.
I've also found Special Stage route 5 is great

I Have a Lap Ready, for Pro, and everything. I just lack the Equipment to get the sumbit in...

I really should invest in a Capture Card.

Gotcha.

Next one will be less difficult.

lol do what i did in the last competition when i didn't have a capture card......camcorder (or digital camera)
I still won the amatuer division

I'll skip this one. I just can't seem to make this track work for me, but I'll defo sign up next time!

I was certain that the due date was Nov 2. Oh well here is 3 lap I made with the Mazda AZ-1. I think I drifted half of the chicane on my 3rd lap and I’m not sure if I’m going to submit an entry so I’ll see what I can do before the 6th.

AZ-1@suzuka

…time is money. :trouble:

DO NOT I REPEAT POST WHAT CAR YOU ARE GOING TO BE USING......

:odd:

Yeah Ske I’m aware of that, but I think I won’t submit an entry I’ll just show it since there’s only 3 people for pro division and the lack of participation of GTPDC3 isn’t inspiring enough for me to put an effort into this comp. That’s why I signed up at the beginning of the month hoping that people will enter but it looks like there’s only 5 people total. One week left and I’m sure one or two people will submit their entries late.

It could be the difficulty of the track or just plain laziness or it may just be the busy life that’s preventing members from participating in GTPDC events but c’mon a busy person will always find time to do what he or she likes to do. If you’re a good GT4 drifter and not entering at least show a run or two. I wouldn’t mind watching and imitating the ideal line of a good GT4 drifter. Suzuka West may be difficult to get a clean lap but hey it’s like every other track, a road with corners.

Good or bad run I want to see those videos and surely other members will want to see them too.

:)

whoo
I'm 3 for 3 on that list.

I gave the track a try this evening (though not in a MR) and I can't come up with anything I'm comfortable showing off. And I've shown off a lot of sub-par drifts prior to this....

I have no intentions of going to classes tomorrow (brain is fried from these last 3 weeks...). So with some luck I might toss together some sort of demo lap, but no promises.
