I'm sorry, I can't morally let a competition go on without an 86 present... Change me over to an 86 if you could Thio. I like nissans, just too many for one comp.

i'll do Exhibition Amateur.
My choice of weapon will be my Subaru Impreza VerisonVi Wagon.

No because of two possibilities: other drifters might be intimidated and they do not want to drift anymore or they may try to do some tricks that you pulled off and then they may do better than you.

By turning in the URL to the head judge, then the confidentiality of the entry is kept and everyone competing will show their best skills without being influenced by anyone else.

Do not worry. There have been entries that were as big as 25MB, which is a horror for 56k'ers :irked:

To download files that big, there is a program called GetRight that helps pause downloads and resume the download later when the computer is connected to the internet. Go try it ;)

Alright, there is so much talent entering this one, so I am in. It's a celebration b*tches.

Since there has been an idea that has been brought up in the other thread, I am going to start implementing it right away. From now on, these changes are going to occur:

  1. Every drifter who wants to compete in the GTPDC will have to PM the head judge what car they want to use and in what category and division they want to compete in.
  2. The entries that the competitors will turn in must not have their names in it. All they can have in their entries will be the background music and/or the title of the WEEK, or anything else but nothing that reveals who the drifter is.
  3. All of the competitors must include the speedometer, accelerator/brake meter, steering wheel and lap time so that the judges can know that the entry is fair. If this is not followed, then the drifter can be disqualified. This is to make sure no one has done some video editing to their entry to make their entry look better. Trust me, it has been done numerous times, even from the best drifters around.
  4. You can only tell the head judge of the competition the URL of your entry. You cannot tell anyone else of your entry to keep the competitor's entry secret until results are posted.

You aren't gonna start the pm car thing on this one because we already know who has what car right?

EDIT: About the telling the link.. Since all if not most of our comp vids are in 19xx's video directory we are gonna have the videos named a generic name?

Yes, all of the video filenames will have a generic number to it.

i'm not sure if i'll be able to get my video online. Dial-Up sucks.
 
Ask a friend to upload the file for you, or you can just do something while the file is uploading.

Do not worry, I feel your pain. I am on a 56k also, so I know how you feel :)
 
i used the pm sys. before and i think the judge just ignored me :(
