Hello everyone and welcome to the first full GTP Rally Championship!

It’s finally here, after lots of mini events and practice runs, the real deal is upon us. We have a very competitive field of drivers and we’ll be using the ultra competitive Rally2 class of car.

Season 1 will feature 5 rounds, with 5 stages per round and 2 services. Each round will last 7 days. Season will begin on the 18th December at 11am GMT.

We are using the WRC points scoring system (25-1, top 10 score) plus the power stage will be in play for those all important bonus points.

The calendar:
1. Rally Italia Sardegna
2. Rally Scandia
3. Central Europe Rally
4. Rally Estonia
5. Secto Rally Finland

We have a mix of seasons in play and weather has been set to unknown for every stage. Expect the unexpected. Hardcore damage is OFF and stages will have moderate degradation.

The Cars:
Citroen C3
Ford Fiesta
Hyundai i20 N
Skoda Fabia Evo
Skoda Fabia RS
VW Polo GTI
Builder cars allowed

Let’s have a blast!

Welcome to Rally Italia Sardegna for round 1 of the GTP Rally Championship Season 1!
It’s winter, the air is cold and the weather is unpredictable, especially at altitude. Be on your toes on these rough tracks.

Itinerary:
Long service
SS1: Bassacutena - 7.5km
SS2: Sa Mela - 9.1km

Medium Service
SS3: Littichedda - 13.3km
SS4: Bortigiadas - 9.0km

Short Service
Power Stage: Monte Muvri - 7.5km

Good luck!

Question: Once a car is chosen you have to use it the entire season, or we can go banana and change it every time ?
You can change it every time if you wanted to, there’s nothing I can do to stop that. But it’s more realistic if you stick with one car and makes reporting the rounds a lot more cohesive for me.

And I intend to facilitate your work, so Hyundai I20 N Rally2 for the entire season for me :sly:

And we are underway! Good luck everyone! Feel free to share what car you will be using for the series and post any pics you take as you go!

I only have to drive 320km to get the Platinum so I figure as long as I do that I may as well do it with you guys.

Are builder cars allowed?

👍🏻👍🏻. Absolutely, should have elaborated that in the first post.

This sounds like such a great championship!
Great template, and awesome calendar.

Unfortunately, the game is unplayable for me on PS5 after patch 1.4.
Had no issues before that, but since 1.4 the game stutters massively and the screen tearing is horrible.

So it's such a shame I have to respectfully decline a few entries in to our Club Events, while I await a new patch which will actually fix the game this time round.
Hopefully EA and Codies have it sorted out quickly.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Yesterday I drove the first round with only a little preparation. I am new to rallying and that is definitely visible in my times. But still, it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately in the last stage I had two massive screen errors so I lost control of the car and it resulted in a penalty. I had a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the next round.

Screen tearing ruined my run a little bit, ended up just going off and losing confidence from then on. Also, weirdly, most my rally took place in summer then had a final stage with the more winter-y look to it. Bit confusing. That said some great stages that I haven't driven before!

Next round should be more to my liking 👍

I can’t remember what season I set it to, it may have been winter, but I set the conditions to “unknown” for a bit of a random flavour weather wise.

I think the whole event was set to winter, but I certainly only saw winter conditions on the final stage. I had a weird season based issue a couple of weeks back, so intrigued to hear how it was for everyone else?

I only had snow on the road on the last stage too. But maybe winter doesn't have snow unless you select snowy conditions? To be fair I'm not sure snow is common in Sardinia even in the winter, not exactly a cold place.

Yeah the games pretty accurate in this respect. You’ll also only really see it when your at altitude.

I'm gonna say one thing about my Sardegna Rally.................

3RD :odd:

I will make videos of all the rallies, so for more details you need to wait for those ;)

The wait is over :D

At the time of recording I finished 3rd in EVERY STAGE  Incredibily hilarious :P Althought I got 4th overall in the end (for now)

Well, my rally didn't go too well. Puncture on the third stage with 4km to go, and then a terminal crash on the last 100m of the stage. Didn't take spare tires because I really didn't expect to get a puncture here (I have no idea what I supposedly hit).

Easily one of my least favorite rallies in the game, together with Mexico :yuck:

This was a tricky rally, stage 2 was the hardest by far. (And im doing all these without practice. >.<) Pace was great, but i made errors along the way. I hit the mountain walls in some stages causing me to spin, and i overshot 2-3 corners aswell. I went into the power stage with no spare tire, and i went fast but steady. Great time at the finish, but just barely missed 1st overall (At the of writing this) by half a second.

Overall, good start to the championship! Hope i can keep this pace and try to not make too many mistakes for the next events! ^^

Round 1 the GTPRC is complete! Sardinia proved a tough test, the wintry conditions catching out many drivers and the rough terrain made looking after the cars a real challenge.

Come the rally end, we had an astonishingly close finish between the top 3, separated by less than a second. @Dreadmed taking the top spot at the wheel of the Citroen C3, just half a second quicker than @ZeroTheNorth in the Fiesta. @RYAN taking 3rd spot a further 3 tenths back in the Skoda Fabia RS.

@Dreadmed leads @ZeroTheNorth by 6 points, with @RYAN a further 6 points back to round out the top 3. @Cabelmania strong performance in the power stage means he's just 2 points behind @RYAN in what could be a real fight to watch through this championship.

The manufacturers cup is wide open, with Ford and Citroen securing 3 cars eligible to score, meaning just 3 points separate them. Skoda, Hyundai and Pfei all within touching distance of eachother. VW had no entries in round 1 so yet to get off the mark.

Round 2 takes us to the treacherous and narrow snow stages of Norway, a real test of driving accuracy and ability.

Welcome to Rally Scandia for Round 2 of the GTP Rally Championship S1.
The bitter conditions continue, in the only all snow event of the season, Norway hosts the series with some of the most treacherous passes and difficult sections we will face this season.

Itinerary:
Long Service
SS1: Ljosdalstjønn - 9.4km
SS2: Tovsli - 13.8km

Medium Service
SS3: Russvatn - 16.8km
SS4: Tovslioytjorn - 7.5km

Short Service
Power Stage: Fordol - 6.1km

Good luck!

Scandias unforgiving forest tracks proved a challenge for everyone, but, only 1 retirement registered across the rally, showing some solid driving from everyone involved.

In the end, it was @Ali who took the overall victory, expertly guiding his Hyundai i20 to a commanding overall lead. @ZeroTheNorth came home p2 in the Fiesta and @sinotov2008 just a second further back in the Fabia RS. P4 to P8 were separated by just 24 seconds, with @Cabelmania the best of the rest behind the podium finishers.

@ZeroTheNorth holds on to P1, but @Ali having a strong debut round taking maximum points, throws him straight into the mix in P2. @Dreadmed and @RYAN are tied on points in P3 and 4 respectively with @Cabelmania just 2 further back.

In the constructors, just 11 points separate the top 4 manufacturers, with Ford leading Hyundai by just 2 points. With Skoda and Hyundai gaining points scores from three cars.

Round 3 will see us take on the all new Central European Rally on the tarmac of Czechia.

Welcome to the Central European Rally for round 3 of the GTPRC Season 1.
Drivers will be faced with high speed, smooth tarmac roads for this round, taking us through the beautiful Czechia countryside. Villages, flat out open road and tight forest roads make up this all new event, featuring in a GTPlanet event for the very first time.
Weather conditions are forecast to be mixed between services, so tyre choice on each leg will be critical.

Itinerary:
Long service
SS1: Osíčko - 9km
SS2: Vítová - 8.8km

Short service
SS3: Rusava - 14.6km
SS4: Příkazy - 8.6km

Short service
Power Stage: Žabárna - 15.4km

I really do enjoy CER, it goads you into going faster and faster but unlike other rallies which punish you (cough Corsica), it seems to reward you.

Couple mistakes cost me though, hit the bridge in the first pass through it and then slid off the road on the penultimate stage, took the dry tyre so I could attack the 14km stage and take it easier on the wet 9km test, it doesn’t feel bad using dry tyres on wet track m, right up until you need to brake reasonably hard and then the car just slides, went off the road and got a very harsh 30 second reset.

I managed to rack up about forty seconds in penalties from not knowing CER in advance. If only I weren't too lazy to go for a dry run first.

Screenshot_20240104_011544_Chrome.jpg

Had a dreadful start to my CER run with a 14 second penalty on the first stage...onwards and upwards though right? 😂

I admit that I did practice for this one, because of the changing conditions; I wanted to know the best strategy regarding tyres  In the end I chose the safe choice to start with Wet tyres both legs and, since I am 1st for now at the moment of this post, it paid big time :sly::D
