GTPlanet COMMUNITY HELP Desk: Track Path Editor/Importer. READ OP!

So how does one go about saving a map then importing it into the app to trace over on the android version?
I just went to satliltle view of google maps and zoom in to the track/road I want. Then I just take a picture using the tablet. Then when I click on reference picture on the Eifel Flat track, it looks to my photos.

Is there a way to drive on the tracks offline? It says I need psn for it.

Yes it seems that the only limitation to storage on your tablet would be the physical memory of the tablet... And seeing how fast the track data files transfer, I have to assume they are fairly small in size, so you could save a ton on your tablet! In theory...

The files are all less than 5kb. I was able to extract them from my iPad and save them on my computer. You could design tracks all day (without reference images) and it wouldn't come close to using up all your memory on the tablet.

I don't think so. It accesses your account online and loads them that way.

Yes I am and how do you do that

Go to your Settings, under the "general" options tab you should be able to find "Default Apps", when you find that go to whatever browser(s) you use and hit clear or erase. Now when you open certain links you have to choose "always" or "just once". That should fix it

Not really, as the scale is set at 2000m. When I made my first track the included scale(from gmaps) was at 100m. Lucky for me I got it 98% right on the first try, but only to find out if you lay down the track near itself it won't work :banghead: I like the idea of this but if you can't make a short and tight track, what's the point? And we can't lay down trees, bushes etc wherevever we want either. It's almost a bit stupid. And placing the curbs is painful. Looks like I'll be making huge tracks with no tight corners.

You can adjust the scale by zooming in or out. I've gotten it down to 200m

I might've asked already, but I didn't see it... Are there any strategies to maximize the amount of scenary allowed? it makes no sence, the editor is so eccentric about scenary, the only thing I have noticed so far is that long straights help and a larger turn radius helps.

I probably know the answer to this question already, but i still have to ask....is there any way to extend the overall track length that can be laid down?
Doubt it... but my only circuit I worked a considerable amount of time on is only about 2.90 miles.

I spent 2 hours yesterday trying out and tweaking a circuit (Eifel) and I'm pretty happy with the result. I managed to make a "corkscrew" and it's just a beautiful track with a few interesting bumps (not jumps) and indentations along the tarmac.

Great for mid to high PPs cars. I'll share it later today after tweaking the kerbs.

It's better than what it looks here ^^ The elevation changes make the difference. I think the lowest part of the track is the main straight and the highest is the corner on the bottom.

I have a question. Does anyone know how to adjust the length of the home straight? I was working on a replica of Rattlesnake Raceway and had to move the home straight so I could make the track correctly

OP has been updated with the latest Q & A up to this point.
A few questions still remain unanswered.

A quick 'thank you' to our volunteer Help Desk reps. ;) 👍

I don't understand the behaviur of the home straight (it's either that or the lenght counter). Right now I just need to connect the last turn of my 2.677m track (with a 204m of home straight): I place the turn and it's 2.825m, I take up the finger and it suddendly changes to 3.321m with a 700 home straight.

What am I missing?

EDIT: I guess the home straight can't be 204m, so why does it say that? Is it a bug?

Are you talking about this question?:

the lenght of the home straight can't be changed (due to the pits I presume...)

There's lots of Q&A about the Home Straight in the OP.

If you're talking about this one:

Is it possible to modify a track created by someone else?

?

We do need a clear answer to that from someone running the app and has tried that out.

Or are you talking about this part:

When you download it, the track goes on the PS3, but not in the list of tracks created by me in the tablet app... (sorry for my bad english)

That is hard to understand. Do you mean that you first download another player's track and then wish to modify that on your PS3? Or load it to your tablet and modify it?

I found some information that pertains to the size of the images that you have to be in a limit. In order for the reference image to work on the Android Emu's. If you someone could point me to that post, that will be great, or just tell me again here. :)

The question is: You need information about the size limit of the reference image when working the app on an Android Emu?

Right?

I started my room at a custom track tonight.

After four races there I went to change the track and it wouldn't let me open up the track list. I could change the time on the track or the number of laps, but when I pushed the track list button it would just buzz.

I quit and started a new room with a different custom track and the same thing happened.

Did this happen to anyone else?
Same, I think it'll be that way for everyone. We've had to quit and rejoin a new room if we want to change track, and you also can't change to a custom track if you started the room with a regular GT6 track.
Only tried in our private club lobby, I'm not sure if it would be different in a public lobby, but I doubt it.

It says that in the release notes and manual:
In the Open Lobby and in the Community area's club events or in a club lobby, user-created tracks can only be selected when a room is created. You cannot select user-created tracks when changing tracks after a room has been created.
