This, I feel. Fanboys are normally those who are militant against a competitor to their favourite product, but on GTP, fanboys are just normal GT players (hence why they're on a GT forum) who are sick to death of all the complaining. We get it, the game isn't perfect, we agree, but we don't need to hear about it every. single. day... As if experiencing the flaws for ourselves isn't enough!
Fanboys will defend their favorite game/movie/whatever even if it's just awful, no matter what. That's what happening with any game, with GT5 as well.
As for complaining. That's a forum after all. So it's not our problem if you want to read only "how awesome GT5 is" comments every day, but no how bad it is.
Also, i agree, there's some trolls, who are posting "GT5 suxxx, Forza rulezzz" sometimes. But most of the negative comments coming from the true GT fan, who are just dissapointed.
If we wouldn't care about GT... i bet there wouldn't even 1/10 of those complains on those forums.
Like for example: i don't like CoD series at all. Do i bother to post how their games sucks on CoD forums? Nope, i have a better things to do.
Compared to 6 months ago I would say the forum has gotten a lot less aggressive with the PD Defense but I think that's largely becuase ultimately you can't really deny anymore...
No more "wait and see the next game show" or "You can't say becuase you haven't played the final version yet!".
At best all that's left is "it might be patched" but ultimately at this point I think almost everyone pretty much realizes what GT5 is regardless of how much eventual patching one might hope for.
I consider myself a GT fanboy, is that a bad thing?
Never played any other game for more than a few hours in total.
Connected to the internet, bought the PS3 and a DLP just to play '5.
Had big real life quarrels about the whole Forza V GT thing.
I think I'm pretty hardcore.
I wouldn't go to a Forza site and give it the large one though, that's a waste of time that could be spent reading GTP!
It's because we have great mods and experienced members who try to keep this stuff to a minimum. We have a zero percent policy for silly users like fanboys that try to start flamewars.
On one hand, everyone who has good things to say about GT5 is called a fanboy. On the other hand, everyone who has a bad thing to say about GT5 is called a whiner.
