@Mistral - In BC4 drivers each ran 2 separate events, for BC3 we each ran 1. I say we do 1 each this time, 2 was too much for me last time.
But you were racing with a teammate. You could ask him for some advice fir the car's setup and how to take corner, speed, bracking point, etc. It makes a bit easier. 'nyway, 1 or 2 races, actually I don't really care.

Well, it's perfectly OK to have backup drivers who are testing setups and lines for the primary driver, just to help out.

Quick question here:

Will this Interboards OLR be held in GT3 or in GT4? It seems that the answer is obviously GT4, but I got to thinking; some of the faster competitors in other forums (and maybe even our own) might not have GT4 yet, and are still floorin' it in GT3. So, why can't we accomodate them? Have a GT4 Interboards OLR and a GT3 Interboards OLR instead of just the GT4. This way more people will be allowed to participate, and those not fortunate enough to have purchased GT4 will be able to show off their mad GT skills. So how 'bout it?

That's possible. However, I like the idea of shaking up the 'usual suspects' list by keeping it GT4 only.

That does seem to be an interesting prospect. Personally I'm interested in trying out for team GTP, but if I don't get in this board'll have my back.

Also, for GT4, are the races going to include cars that must be won and given specific tunings, or are they going to be the generic Arcade Mode cars (I want to know how many enduros I have to run before the qualification rounds begin)?

Not that I have a strong chance on making a team for any BC, but on the off chance something comes together, could I get an email or pm from one of the admin's here?

First, you must know that a challenge like the BC is a very hard one to hold. It's a hard job and as the previous edition, I think we will have to send our replays for verification. 10 drivers, about 8 teams minimum, that's mean 80 replays to review and discuss about close call, and believe me, we did in the past! We strongly did! Btw, we had 10 teams in the previous BC at GTWeb and same for BC2 on GTN. It's about 200 replays to review (because each driver were running twice in two different races).

Second, in my opinion, the fastest and the more addictive drivers in the entire community already purchased GT4 and some or them since the first release in Japan. That might not be a problem.

If you really want a it on GT3 and GT4, I'm sure you are volunteer to manage the either GT3 or GT4 challenge. And, you also must know that verification on GT4 is even harder compare to GT3 due to replay saving system that completely different. Count around 3 times more time for each replay and that could be more.

I hope you understand that it's A LOT LOT LOT of work to organize a Board Challenge.

I can't see another BC going with gt3...I think we had enough of it, and it was shown in the last BC4....

In the BC4, the race catagories were determined by the Race Administrator, the teams then submitted choices for each catagory, and then the teams voted for each race from those submitted for each catagory.

A pretty wide range was covered, Arcade and Sim races, Arcade and Garage cars, from Race cars (LM. JGTC, and Formula cars), to Road cars, to Sim Tires...

Wet
RACE 1: #2 Gillet Vertigo
SSR5 Wet (Forward)
Arcade Normal

Endurance
RACE 2: #3 Denso Sard Supra
Trial Mountain
Arcade Professional

Sim Tyre
RACE 3: #6 S2000 LM Race Car
Deep Forest
Arcade Easy

Sim Car Rally
RACE 4: #3 Renault Clio V6 24v
Smokey Mountain
Simulation Rally

Arcade Car Rally
RACE 5: #4 Lancia Delta RC
Swiss Alps
Arcade Easy

Sim Car Road
RACE 6: #3 F094/S or Polyphony 001
Rome Circuit
Beginner League Clubman Cup

Sim Car Road
RACE 7: #5 Mazda RX7 LM

RACE 8: #9 Tommy Kaira ZZ-II

RACE 9: #7 Castrol Tom's Supra (S Class)

I'm sure as this progresses, Duke will determine what route we will take to set up BC5.

I might add that since each participating driver is required to have Full Replay Submitting capability, that it should be no problem for participating drivers to load any of the 100% Games currently available on the 'Net onto a spare memory card, to be sure to have all venues and cars available for racing.

yep, in fact, just to do OLR's I bought me a 2nd mem card, in wich I've put a 100 % game save...
only problem now is we don't have a garage editor...so we'll need to propose races at full mods in both arcade and GT mode

We could still possibly run a completely stock sim car race. Let it be more about the driving than the tuning.

True, someone could potentially cheat, and drive with some modifications. But I think think there are enough skilled drivers out there to spot a ringer...

Doesn't the horsepower figure and weight show up in the replay? I'm not sure whether a gameshark hybrid would show a horsepower increase in the replay, that is something we will need to test out.

Hey BOOOOOM and Ed!!!!!! How are ya mates? Long time not seen. Hope you both arefine. :)

Any ideas when this is going to start? Personally I dont like the summer as it is quite hot. :p Anyway, can't wait. :D

Well, we're gearing up to start as soon as the Teams are set and the rules decided. I've got to do some pondering and organizing, too. I don't want to repeat last year's mistakes...

Can you setup a place for the GTP team? so we can get some guys together.

Thanks

Yes, there will be one as soon as Team GTP is chosen. It's a little early for that move yet. I need to do a few things first:
  • Create a draft of the Comp Rules
  • Establish a time frame for the series
  • Get a new board organized
  • Figure out which teams are participating.
We'll get there. I'd like to get as organized as possible before really starting the push, in order to avoid some of the pitfalls of prior competitions.

Good! I have a draft version of the rules ready for input from the teams, and as soon as we get the new board up here on the site we'll move the discussion there.

duke, I just saw you put GTN to GTRP. Thats wrong. We are 2 different boards and will participate with 2 teams then.

GTRP and
GTN

jmr - No offense meant. GTN was down when I posted that, and there was a link indocating that GTRP was posting results for a GTN sompetition in the meantime. So I followed that link and posted at GTRP because I knew the message would get back to GTN.

There's now an official forum for discussion of BC5. Please look there for the latest information!
