I don't know how to describe it but overall it doesn't look quite right. Like the headlights don't seem to be as well made and the faux panel gaps look huge.

I'll be honest I don't quite see the issues you mentioned with this model. However since this is a pre-production model issues could surface later but that would be a separate issue altogether. I don't think I currently own any of TSM's models, but based on what people have shown me they have been pretty faithful.

Time will tell. Hoping for the best of course.

To be honest, that model looks horrendous. Is that glue leftover all over the paint? The yellow hue is all over the paint, as well as what looks like a lot of residue in the headlights. And then there are the panel gaps...

Finally got a hold of an orange Autoart 997 GT3 RS! The seller clearly had no clue what it was worth new in box, since they go for several hundred on ebay these days but I paid about the same as it would have been when initially sold. Was a risk to buy it with no pictures and from Germany, but here we are.

Goes well with my green one, which was also my very first "high end" model car.

I really like the Lexus GS-F. And I'm considering getting the one on Amiami that's about $113. Never bought a Kyosho before, anything I should know about Kyosho 1/18s?

C'mon IG. Make this in 1:18

1500 produced too according to that plate.

Can be subpar in quality when it comes to making certain parts. Heard a bit about diecast rust being a prominent thing.

I had a Shelby Cobra. Engine is a one-piece chrome-plated plastic mold. Really lame when we're talking 1/18. Don't know when that was released though (I'll guess 2007).

They can range from really nice diecasts (many of their Ferraris and Lamborghinis) to poor (their 1990's stuff like the Supra, RX-7, and Miata). Their low cost resin line Samurai is made by GT Spirit, while I forgot who makes their expensive resins. They also have a line of somewhat inexpensive ($80 USD) sealed diecast cars under the line Ousia.

Here are a few of my Kyoshos:

^ Oh yes, Kyosho High-End is the top notch stuff. That Ferrari 250 GTO is one of their most recognized products in the collector community.

Thanks for mentioning this. My Cobra was probably from this. IMO If you're going to move up to a scale that's more costly than your /64s, /43s and /24s, I wouldn't go half-way on this, @MedigoFlame. Get yourself something you can be proud of dropping the extra money on down the road.

I guess that doesn't answer your question about the quality of the Lexus though. I guess you ought to look up as many non-official photos as you can find, be it from owners or eBay listings.

edit: here I'll even do that for you:

Solid grills!!!1111

s-l1600.jpg

Clean-cut edges on the tail lights. That's good. GT Spirit start to drop the ball on this feature.

s-l1600.jpg

Is that diffuser supposed to be glossy?

s-l1600.jpg

I'll leave this to your judgment. I don't pay much attention to interiors.

s-l1600.jpg

Metalflake painted wheels. I think that's accurate to the real thing, no?

Oh. And that ride height. Look about right?

The one thing I'm not too big on is the bronze-ish color on the grill. But I suppose it's accurate. (Maybe for certain versions of the car?)

Might just be that the North American model is just chrome instead? Or maybe an option.

I'm considering cutting back on much of my collection and focusing on models I really want. Though I could just stick with 1/24 and 1/43 scale versions if they come along. Though I haven't found many decent looking Lexus models in 1/43 scale. And there almost isn't any 1/24s except the horrible looking Bburago 2nd gen IS350 and the uninteresting SC430. At $150 including shipping, it seems alright compared to other vendors asking at least $200. I may just wait and hope that someone else makes a smaller scale GS-F in Ultrasonic Blue. (Amiami has some WIT's 1/43, but not in blue)

The last 1/43 Ignition Model I bought ended up being just over$130 shipped from Japan. Was a pre-order though, so no eBay hunting. Best to pre-order IG's because they shoot up rapidly after release.

That bronze may be a reflection?

I feel like it might be an international model thing. Any pictures I see of it in Europe or Asia has the bronze. Seemed very bronze in the non-official model photos.

Edit: I'll probably use the money for things like the cheaper Welly 1/24 991.1 GT3 RS.

About $200 or so? I see some 1:43 R32s at 169, and others at 300.
I don't know if I can justify spending over 200 dollars for a 1:43 scale car... Maybe a 1:18 but that's about it. I could try finding a Kyosho Beads model for a much cheaper price. I know it's smaller but most of my cars are 1:64, so it would fit nicely.

Some really nice models being displayed here.

Was wondering if you guys have perhaps seen a 1:18 model of the latest Peugeot 3008 SUV preferably in white. I know Norev makes a 1:43 in blue and in copper but I have yet to find a 1:18. If you know of one I'd appreciate to hear about it!

Do you know about the one made by Paudi Model? Here is one in white.

I don’t know about the quality and craftsmanship of their models (it’s only now that I know of their brand after doing a Google search), but they seem to be from China. This is the only product that fits your criteria in a quick Google search. If you’ve already known about it, sorry, but I’ve done all I can.

If you want to know more about this specific model, just type ‘Peugeot 3008 1:18’ on Google and this is the first item returned in the results.

Anyone know where I could find a 1/18 or larger model of the M3 GTR similar to the one from the cover of the game "Sports Car GT" ? I came across some from UT models on ebay but they're nowhere to be found elsewhere in my searching.

@mazda787, I think UT... or AutoArt has a GTR. Otto made an E3 E46 in the past.

Think the only reason why GTS ditched the mesh in the main grill was because it was not a generic mesh style.

But aside from that, anyone notice Gt Spirit's models missing paint in some of the panel lines? It appears white, which I'm guessing is unpainted resin. Tis the second GTS model I've received with such imperfection. Or is it just happening with metallic paints?

Haven't had any issues with thin paint on any of my metallic GT Spirits. Could be just a fluke.

And I need that Top Marques XJ220 in my life.

CS-MODELS has been posting pics of this new brand launching with this "Dreamwalker" model:
