Here we have a 1/18 Porsche 911.... oh, sorry force of habit. ;)

What I meant to say is 1/12 scale Ferrari F40 from Norev. Got this as my first 1/12 a few months back for a great price. It does not have opening parts but it's nicely detailed for what it cost and displays great. Not to mention I love a non-red Ferrari.

You posting your F40 in 1/12 has me remindee that I have not yet fully unboxed my first and only 1/12 I have so far....

I prefer 1/18 over the 1/12, because my house is too small and is not worthy of having 1/12 being displayed unless I have a mansion or a crib.

I wanted to have the F1 but missed the boat by a few days when it got released in 1/18. I was so mad that when the 1/12 got released, I just gotta have it to get over my original frustration...

I have opened the box 2 or 3 times, but still have not fully taken the van out yet... That thing is quite heavy !

Maybe next week.

I am with you, I have only two 1/12 scale models but due to space limitations I likely wont get any more. However, the two that I do have I like very much even though they will remain boxed for a while.

I love the detail on 1 /12 but they're difficult to display and handle. My heart skipped a beat when I nearly dropped the F40 moving it.

I wasn't trying to make anyone wait
Been wanting to share the photos🥰😎

But I didn't have time to take it out and take photos until I had to force myself this morning. (Too busy dad)

Without further ado

This thing is heavy !

I will take more photos later when I have more time.
I need to display it in my house at some point

Edit: why is PD not releasing this on GT7 ?! :(

Mid 90s Castrol is probably my favourite race car livery, especially on a JGTC Supra. Unfortunately that combination in 1:18 was made many years ago in a limited run of 500, and go for big money if you can find one at all.

So when I saw Tickford dress Thomas Randle's Supercars Mustang up for the retro round at the Sandown 500 last year, I knew I had to have one. I very rarely buy 1:18ths nowadays but for this I made an exception.

After keeping an eye out for an email I was sure would come from Authentic Collectables announcing the livery was going to be produced in 1:18, I expressed my interest, and when they were released last Thursday I wasted no time in ordering one.

Shout out to Authentic Collectables, Australia Post and Parcelforce in the UK for having the car arrive on my doorstep almost exactly a week to the minute after I ordered it.

Forced perspective + dioramas is my jam.... though you have to think about where the heck you're storing it afterwards, because it seems like an awful waste to build all of that and the nthrow it out after. Mine aren't as good because I was challenged with lighting that isn't the sun, and a TV as a backdrop.

One of the things people need to pay a lot of attention to with forced perspective, especially if their intent is to make it look like it's in that IRL environment, is making sure the perspective of the diorama and the vehicles matches the environment you're imposing them into. Although all my TV backdrops are large landscape photos I found on the web, I'm angling the diorama and camera position to line up with the photos as closely as I can:

My 8th Porsche 964 from Norev has arrived, this one a Speedster in a lovely and perhaps over the top shade of Speed Yellow. This does have a paint defect, see if you can spot it, so I may exchange it later on. Suppose there is a reason I was able to buy it from a Chinese seller way before it goes on sale at retail.... 😂
