Well, we know that @AMG. is a sentient being, entirely made of money, which allows him to have acess to the best possible stuff. @Venom800tt probably works part-time as a Gundam pilot (har har), since he also has quite the collection. And we lot try very hard to keep up, even though it is obviously impossible to match the epicness of these amazing collections...

Nice comparison shots you got there, oh GRU military nut.

How much would I have to steal to get those great 1:18 Skylines you have? The two R32s would suffice, because they are very good models. Especially the Gun Metal Grey one. That is beauuuutiful, so pretty...

Oh, and the tank models are nice too, you even have a mini-tank to match all the bigger guns. All in all, a great set of pictures.

For truck lovers (not me) who know about Del Prado, you'll know they do an assorted range of fire trucks in various scales. I was skeptical when a seller told me how much a single one weighed. So I brought some home and I was about ready to flip out that these weren't 1:64. To be sure though I decided to put it up against other models to see how each brand's interpretation on "1:64" compare to each other.

Yeah I could've included Matchbox, M2, Greenlight, Auto World (I don't have a single one), and Tomica, but meh(!), this was what I had with me in my immediate vicinity.

That's a good question.

I weighed all 4 of my trucks, all 1:64 scale, and it averaged out to be around 180 grams. So that would be about 11520 grams... or 11.52kg. It would seem these particular trucks had a stage 17 weight reduction done on it. Interesting. Interesting indeed.

Are those trucks one dimensional?

Because i guess they are in real life 64 times as wide, 64 times as high and 64 times as long as the model version you have.

So 180gram * 64 ³ = 47186 kg.

These four were all bought from someone you may be familiar with. Any guesses? Well no, you're wrong. I bought these from none other than @AOS-. Who was very good at dealing with a muppet. Well done.

1/43 Ixo Altaya Audi R15 TDI Plus #9 Le Mans Winner 2010

1/43 Minichamps Ford GT40 #2 Le Mans Winner 1966 which goes nicely with the artwork I bought a few months ago.

It also has some nice detailing.

1/18 Norev BMW M1 Red 1980

The M1 has great detailing, which doesn't surprise me because Norev is brilliant.

And the best one... The pop up headlights work! There's a little lever thing on the bottom that you push. Just like the button I found on my SLS to pop the bonnet up (to stop you scratching the paint to get your finger nail under the tiny gap).

Looking at all the models I had just made me want to do a little more photo taking, even though I'm not particularly good at it (though I think that's more the old camera's fault).

All my Le Mans racers (I have a 1/43 Viper GTS-R, a 1/43 Porsche RS Spyder, and a 1/43 Porsche 906 too, but while they are endurance racers, these particular cars were from other races. And ignore all the crap in the background. The mess has to go somewhere while I take photos.

And that is all my 1/18's (except for my Chrysler ME Four Twelve... I accidentally forgot about it, and when I added it onto the desk, my camera decided it hated me and couldn't focus on anything (it has the worst shutter speed ever, and it's one of those stupid cameras that tries to make taking photos simple, which means you can't adjust the settings properly).

Unfortunately the Maisto is the only XJ220 in both 1/18 and 1/12. While there are quite a few 1/18 90's supercars around, there are even more in 1/43.
Hmm, sounds like a good reason for me to take more group shots soon....

Oh, and I have 5 more models on the way, 2 1/18 and 3 1/43

Really impressive. They look better in person because the small details are great. The castings are really nice, lights aren't painted. Imagine a 1/43 but put down to 1/64, minus a couple of details (but hardly any).

Well, if you aren't made of money, you sure are very close to that spectrum; all the things you buy hardly look cheap. I mean, you even buy scale model engines, for Christ's sake! Venom doesn't do that, not that I've seen him doing that mind you.

Also, great stuff, @Skython, the black TZ3 is very interesting. The Norev M1 is truly impressive, and the fact that it has a lever just so that you can pop up the headlights is incredible detailing. Never seen that from a scale model...

Aaand case in point. The brown One-77, as interesting of a color choice as it is, does stand out a bit too much. Call me silly if you want, but I'd prefer it to be white or red...

Ah, I stand partially corrected then. You do get some of your collection from good prices, since you do know where to look. Fair enough.

And that is a wise, building your collection after tastes, but also with an eye in possible depreciation.

Speaking of value, I can't believe I almost forgot to share this. The picture is a bit old (like a month or two), and it was a bit of a joke for the HW thread, but I'll try to get more soon enough, as well as the story behind it. For now, behold this:

Hello everyone. Amazing models in here, they are stunning! Viewing this thread has made me want to buy myself a few die cast models. I was looking at the 1/43 HPI models but they are quite expensive... Does anyone know the cheapest place to find HPI models?
