F40:mission aborted, I don't want to buy a Bburago, maybe I'm lucky and I'll find one in my basement, I mean, I'm sure I got a "big" F40 at some point of my life...Kyosho and HWE...too much for my current budget...

1:43 model but my collection needs at least one Lupin III's car
Brumm made two variants, one with him inside and one with him next to the car.
I don't like drivers inside the cockpit in model cars but the figure is crap (NO EYES!) so this time I may go for the first variant since the helmet looks quite good and the car itself is nice.
Banpresto made a set with the car and Lupin as well, it's of course more toy-ish (not sure if scaled approx to 1:64 or 1:43) but it looks nice and the figure is WAY better, but it's bigger than the car (cheaper alternative for now, but way rarer than Brumm).
Not counting the Lupin in racing suit action figures for around 100€...I don't have any of those, but man, surely are tempting (no car included...LOL).

Yeah, the ones on the FC3S appear to be a different model of BBS wheels. There are like a billion different variations of the BBS LM wheels after all :lol:

In San Jose, California, with no signs of a decent hobby store with diecast cars. However, my uncle wants to take a rental car to San Francisco, anyone know of any stores there? The only store I can find of interest would be Prestige Hobbies in Anaheim, which is a little far. :grumpy:

When I lived in the Bay Area nearly 7 years ago, there were no diecast shops anywhere unfortunately.

Another successful find in the basement, seems like I've got a lot more model cars than I've expected (there's still hope for an F40), not a big fan of Disney to be honest, but sometimes this was the kind of gift when I was a child...

Not feeling it, sadly... I mean, Modeler's models do have quality, but the Mitsu's design isn't the best vessel to showcase that. Then again, I do think of the XR-PHEV as my least favorite VGT (too many gears and far too fussy design), so personal preference also comes to mind.

Surprised that Modeler's has yet to confirm a Subaru Viziv GT model, it would be a perfect pair for the Mitsubishi... Who knows?

They could've at least chosen a darker silver on the front grills and brake discs to heighten the illusion of depth.

Don't knock it into the water. Glue the wheels so they don't roll. Or just don't knock them into the water. :lol:


I still function off a single LED or a desk lamp for photos. If the light source is bad, adjust the camera. If the camera can't adjust, take multiple photos where each shot has lighting cover a section of the car and then stack them in photoshop.
 
Visited a Porsche dealer in California, saw that they had a 1/43 Panamera Sport Turismo for $55, compared to Porsche's online price of $104. Considered buying it, but was in a hurry to make it to Sacramento. Ended up buying on for $65 at another Porsche dealership and having it shipped back to Maine. Probably could have just ordered one at the Maine Porsche dealership. :lol:

This is a TSM. And this is what a TSM looks like when you pull out the base plate. The photo-etched brake disc broke off because the glue adhesion got weak during delivery (or something like that), so I glued it back together, and here's one teaser:

If you want one good reason why to approach TSM with caution, their brake calipers aren't securely installed in their slots, so when they have the room to rotate the slightest, the calipers end up in all sorts of different positions. It's very lousy craftsmanship.

For TSM owners with no problems, consider yourself fortunate. I'm grateful the offsets weren't too hard to fix. At least I could nudge them in the right spot. All I have to do afterwards is to hold them in forever with epoxy.


The plus side to TSM is that packaging is pretty and they usually hold their value. This one is an exception to the latter point. I secured myself an alternate version of this for a fairly low price a few days ago.

I got this 993 Turbo from GT Spirit to replace the UT Models Turbo I received damaged. I really do prefer the quality of the GT Spirit, but I wish it were available in red since I have far too many silver models to begin with. I also think the wheels are too large on this model, I will take a picture next to my UT Turbo S for comparison soon.

I bought the Ottomobile BMW M5 E28 and the MB E500 release from a few months ago. Quality is... as usual with Otto. The car does not sit straight on the M5, one of the wheels are either too far up, or too far down, and it makes the car tripod as it sits on a flat surface. A bit disappointing, and I"ll have to figure out if that's something that can be fixed.

I'm still going to keep my eye on eBay to see if an "affordable" AutoArt E28 M5 comes up. That and I need to get the Kyosho E60 M5 and I'll have all the generations.

Along with the two previous cars, I ordered a GT Spirit F80 M3 in white, thinking that it was an E90 M3. So now I have both the F80 in blue and white, and I can't decide if I want to get rid of one, as I don't really have any use for two.

I also recently bought a 1:18 scale 2003 Mazda 6 model. It was mades specifically for Chinese dealers, so it featured their version of the car. It's a bit crude, but I want to have a model of all the cars I've owned, and this is the only one available.
