Working to get all 911 GT3s in 1/18 scale with opening parts (aka not sealed), so I've been taking pics of some. White is not an intentional theme, just happens that these all are.

I recently finished up getting all of the available Porsche 992 generation models from Norev. There are no duplicate models here, they are all different cars. As a collector of one make it's awesome to see this kind of thing.

I've been thinking about starting a model collection. I was wondering what display or bookcase do you guys use? I was thinking of getting an Ikea Milsbo or something like it? I'd prefer something with glass so I don't have to dust it often and white so it doesn't look so dark and dreary

I wish I could help better, but even though I do collect and have for many years I have not yet displayed my collection.

The Milsbo shelves look pretty good but perhaps a little expensive (in my opinion) and the 11lb max shelf load would make me nervous.

I have heard good things about IKEA's Billy bookcases, which are available in loads of different colors and sizes with optional glass doors. I believe shelves can be added to them as well. And since the shelves aren't glass they have a higher max load for more models.

Lovely thread, well done to all you collectors, haven't read every page but wherever I've dipped in it's been great stuff. I too have a collection, currently stored in the loft, but a few years ago I took some picks so will probably add them here in bits and pieces when I get the time.

Edit:
Top - Minichamps 1/43 F1 GTRs, special magazine editions (think it was called 'Minichamps World' but not sure, mags stored in the loft now too!)
Middle - Autobarn 1/43 1996 JGTC season champion F1 GTRs boxed set (special to me as I saw these in action)
Bottom - 1/43 Gran Turismo edition 787B and TS020, aka GT-One, special Minicar Fan magazine editions (the magazine that got me into collecting after I picked up a random copy one day when browsing in a Japanese bookstore - ended up costing me a fortune!!!)

I know double-posting is frowned upon on this forum, but hard to avoid it on a photo thread like this, so while I have the dongle with my picks plugged in I'll risk the wrath of Famine and post a few more:

Top - Minichamps 1/18 956 winner Le Mans 82, signed by Ickx and Bell
Middle - Minichamps (I think! Could be Exoto) 1/18 787B winner Le Mans 91, signed by Herbert
Bottom - Exoto 1/18 FW14B 92, signed by Mansell

I think these three are among my top four or five racing cars of all time, along with the mid-90s F1 GTR and all the JGTC Skylines (which probably gives my age away somewhat)

...and speaking of those Skylines, I have a rather large collection of JGTC/Super GT machines in 1/43 and 1/18 which I'll try to post pics of here when I get more time, but here's three 1/18 AutoArts from 03 season, the last championship win for the Skyline before it was replaced for 04 by the 350Z, and the last season I got to attend a live JGTC event in Japan, sentimental memories:

Didn't get to see them in real life, but the 04 350Z was a worthy successor to the R34, with Richard Lyons winning the championship in its debut season. Really really beautiful car imo. All 1/18 AutoArt.
