Here's my newest 1/18 scale addition to my collection. It's a 2003 Techart Street GT XL by Hotworks. I bought this on Ebay last night, so I should have it in a week or so.

ive been looking at kits recently, never really bothered b4 because of the fear of fu**ing up a good car! but i wanna try my hand at it u never know it might turn out good, and plus u can get some cars in kit form which arent in ready made die-cast. only problem i found is that they tend to be mostly in 1:24 scale not the large 1:18 scale that i prefer. that is a nice model and in 1:18 scale too good find 👍

ohohhh baby!! sorry for the double post but atm i really am quite excited!! hahaaa :D:D:D

i just managed to secure myself this beauty

Looks awesome... I think I was tracking that model, but it got to be too much.
Nice buy.

Here's a few pictures of my new acquisition from today.

Ferrari F40 by Hot Wheels

It's a very nice looking car. I've already had a 1/24 Ferrari F40 by Bburago (metal kit), got that one like 8-9 years ago. That one has many memories, but I just couldn't stop myself when I saw it at superstore today for only like 18 bucks. Just had to get it.

Here's some pics of it. I like its interior and engine too. It's a nice addition to my growing collection of 1/18 Ferrari. Number's grown to 7 cars so far, they're all red, and more can only keep coming. Maybe a Michael Schumacher F2003-2004 in the next two months or so. :sly:

I've been wanting to buy some cars for a long time now, but never really got around to doing it. However, with my recent trip to Nürburgring, the interested ignited in a whole new fashion. So... I ordered some cars and finally, after five long weeks, they're all here :dopey:

Well... I'll let the pictures speak for themself!

BMW M3 CSL by Kyosho

Porsche GT2 by AUTOart

Porsche GT3 RS by AUTOart

Porsche GT3 RSR by Minichamps

Sauber-Mercedes C9 #61 by Exoto

The cars all lined up

Guess my main focus will be german manufacturers with exceptions for maybe a skyline and/or a lambo. Who knows :)

Try ordering it from Germany. As of right now, it's only a dealer edition.

I had a look on eBay at some from Germany, and some were ridiculously expensive (not to mention hard to read what the hell I was bidding on :ill: ). Do you think it will become much more widespread before long then?

PS: Nice models, I have the other GT3 in 1/43 scale (although I hate that scale :grumpy: )

EDIT: My AutoArt Gran Turismo GT-R R34 came today, I'll post some pics later

EDIT 2: Has anyone got the Nissan Skyline R34 JGTC 2001 test car? Im thinking about buying this as my next model (after a garage and some accessories) but I have heard mixed things about it

nice. 👍 so you have both the GT3 race cars(both by Autoart).

Please, please, please say you'll cover those with something like a case. They're really nice.
I've got my Miura wrapped up in a pillowcase until I can build a display case.

Minichamps makes the RSR. AUTOart's supposed to release one too, but haven't yet.

Slicks: Any suggestions? :) Haven't really thought of that yet. Want a print and/or some lighting above the shelf though.

I'm not sure whether it will be more widespread or not. You can try to call up your local Porsche dealership to order one but chances are that it's backordered. I've got mine from Modelissimo.de, they still might have some left.

I've tried to take better pics of my Gran Turismo Skyline GTR but have failed miserably. :nervous: BTW, why buy the Skyline JGTC test car when there are 6 different race cars to choose from?

Thanks for the tips, I'll check out Modelissimo. As for the test car, I think I prefer the look of it compared to the race cars with livery. I have only seen a Calsonic and 2 Xanavi's and I dont really like the Calsonic one. I'll look on the AutoArt site now for the others

EDIT: Yeah I see now, I think the Castrol Pitwork and the Xanavi Nismo ones are the best looking. Shame theres not more pics, cos I love what I have seen of the test car. It looks "badass" in black and white

damnit!! my lan died just as i was about 2 post!! i was gonna reply to eric nice conversion there mate and i noticed the 2 turbos are or different make are they not? the orange one has a mis-centered badge too!

The orange Turbo is from Hotworks and the red Turbo is from AA. 👍

That's correct. :)

I hadn't noticed that the crest on the Hotworks Porsche was misaligned.
Now I want to fix it!!!

I don't have the Test Car myself but the race cars look great when you put them altogether. :sly:

Nice, which is your favourite? Looks like you need the Test Car yourself to finish that lot off! BTW, nice job Eric, I love the wheels. I wish I had never bought so many "cheap" models now, and concentrated on quality instead of quantity, I am totally out of space to put models, and I only have 2 AutoArt models :grumpy:

The 2002 Xanavi and Pitworks are my favourites. I purposely left the Test Car out of my collection because I don't want a 'fantasy car'. Chances are that the test car existed at some point but I've never seen pictures of it. And IMO, I think it looks bland. On the other hand, I would buy the Fairlady Z test car; I have seen pictures of the car and that I know that it existed in that form.

It's not too late to start with the quality models. As I've said before, the models that collectors buy is dependent on the subject matter and their budget for these models. If you want, you can sell your low-end models and use that money to buy mid- to high-end models. It'll also give you more space to display your collection. :sly:

I'm going to make one myself at school. Wood base painted black, perhaps some gaps in the base to later install lighting, with a plexiglass box overtop. Perhaps engrave or mill the car's make/model in a metal plate and inset it in the base. Mind, this is for one car, but I'm sure something like that could be made to accomodate your collection.

Bondy, buy the GT40. Do it. If I could afford it, I would snap it up. Looks amazing!

I might work in a shop full of remote control goodies. Gonna apply tomorrow for an interview. Anything you guys think I should know or can tell the manager to put him into false pretense that I know all about remote controlled goodies.?
