About:

For decades, ex-government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) has been one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as "The Concierge of Crime." Now, he's mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: He will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, Ranko Zamani, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone), an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. For Liz, it's going to be one hell of a first day on the job.

What follows is a twisting series of events as the race to stop a terrorist begins. What are Red's true intentions? Why has he chosen Liz, a woman with whom he seemingly has no connection? Does Liz have secrets of her own? Zamani is only the first of many on a list that Red has compiled over the years: a "blacklist" of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. He will help catch them all... with the caveat that Liz continues to work as his partner. Red will teach Liz to think like a criminal to "see the bigger picture" - whether she wants to or not.

Also starring are Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, and Ryan Eggold. Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, John Davis, and John Fox serve as executive producers. The pilot was directed by Joe Carnahan.

11_NUP_155716_2299.JPG

Summary:

Raymond "Red" Reddington is one of the FBI's Most Wanted, a criminal mastermind known as "The Concierge of Crime," a man without a country or political agenda. Despite their best efforts, the FBI hasn't come close to catching Reddington in years, which is why his puzzling and conspicuous surrender at FBI headquarters is met with a wide range of skepticism. What's the catch? Red has an offer: He will help the FBI get their hands on Ranko Zamani, a high-value terrorist thought to be dead for years, but he will work only with profiler Elizabeth Keen. Unfortunately for the FBI... it's her first day on the job.

Mid-polygraph, Red warns the Feds of an impending incident in the Decatur Industrial Park. They comb the area, but nothing seems suspicious. The Chinese have just killed a CIA agent in Shanghai in order to use his fingerprints to decode an intercepted message. The decoding failed, and now legendary Chinese assassin Wujing has hired Red to help. Madeline wants Red to procure a small ancient statue, the Effigy of Atargatis, in which is hidden a list of Cold War-era Soviet spies known as the Kungur Six. Liz's eyes light up to discover that since the Kungur Six are still active, nailing them would be the holy grail of American spycraft. Nevertheless, Cooper isn't happy. Berlin: Conclusion, S1E22

Summary:

Just outside Manhattan, bloody prisoners stumble from the wreckage of the crashed prison transport plane. No one knows where it came from or where it was going. The FBI is already interviewing the captured survivors, all of whom explain in broken English that a monster guy in a hood who was handcuffed to a guard cut his hand off after barking orders at the pilot. Across town, a bearded man with no hand stumbles into a hospital and collapses. Meanwhile, Agent Martin escorts Red to a Post Office cell and chains him to a chair. This time there will be no trial; Red will simply disappear. Nevertheless, Red tells Martin, Liz has made it all worthwhile. Liz tries to convince Cooper to release Red to help with the case, but his hands are tied, especially since she still intends to quit the task force. Liz appeals to Martin, but he's convinced she and Red are in cahoots and won't let her near him. Later, Martin is displeased to announce Red has a visitor. Fitch is beside himself with this epic failure of U.S. intelligence: no one can figure out anything about the plane. He can't help but think the whole operation was perpetrated by the man going after Red, and to that end, his people are prepared to give Red a fighting chance to escape.

The hood comes off at The Factory, designed to drain intel from detainees who have been trained to withstand torture - a veritable slaughterhouse where spies disappear forever. Red sets his site on a guard named Desmond, offering him $50,000 cash in exchange for a word with the warden.

Luther Braxon Conclusion, S3E02

Summary:

We pick up where the last episode left off: two raptors have just firebombed The Factory, per the CIA's directive. The blast has nearly destroyed the room where Ressler and Samar have been hanging from the ceiling by chains, allowing Ressler to get free, kill their captors and save Samar from strangling to death. Red revives to find himself alone, no Liz, no Braxton - but he does find a working shortwave radio. With all communications down, Cooper wants Goodson to send in the Coast Guard, but she insists the bombing never happened. If Cooper wants to press matters, he will be relieved of duty. Fully aware of this scenario, Red starts wiring up his shortwave, hoping to get a signal out before The Factory slips into the ocean and everyone on the rig drowns.

Ruslan Denisov, S3E03

The Blacklister: Ruslan Denisov - ACTIVE

09_NUP_166933_0193.JPG

Summary:

At the Sacred Cross Church, located in the snowy village of Khumhara, Uzbekistan, Father Nabiyev is performing the consecration when several men armed with assault weapons storm the altar. After locating a hidden secure national security phone (SNFU), their leader, Ruslan Denisov, tosses the phone at Nabiyev's feet, saying, "You're no more priest than I am... so talk to your God." Speaking perfect American English, Nabiyev calls HQ to report his situation.

The Kenyon Family, S3E04

The Blacklister: Justin Kenyon - DECEASED

04_NUP_167005_2663.JPG

Summary:

Somewhere in the Smoky Mountains, the denizens of the Church of the Shield compound are enthralled by a sermon on Lot and his daughters orated by their leader, elderly polygamist militiaman Dr. Justin Kenyon. Near the perimeter fence, two guards are loading ammunition crates into buried storage containers when they're shot dead. That's when we realize the sermon is the preamble to Kenyon's wedding to a 12-year-old girl. But just before the vows are uttered, a smoke grenade sails through a window and the door is locked from the outside with a scythe. Screams of murderous mayhem can be heard issuing from within.

The Deer Hunter, S3E05

The Blacklister: Tracy Solobotkin - INCARCERATED

16_NUP_167184_1445.JPG

Summary:

In a college classroom, Liz lectures 40 students about a serial killer named The Deer Hunter: he spends hours stalking his prey and is only interested in big men, bucks that are hard to take down. After the ritual of the hunt, the killer guts his victims on site, removing organs with surgical precision and leaving them behind in a pile. Liz believes her guy is a rather small, weak young man, trying to gain control over someone who once dominated him. As we hear Liz's words, we see a diminutive hooded figure take out a man in an alley with a crossbow, then start butchering him. After hoisting the flayed carcass to hang spread-eagled and upside down from a fire escape, The Deer Hunter takes off his hood to reveal mousey Tracy Solobotkin. In what Liz calls "a final act of domination," Tracy swallows her revulsion and takes a single solitary bite out of the liver she just harvested... the signature of a serial killer.

T. Earl King VI, S3E06

The Blacklister: T. Earl King VI - DECEASED

04_NUP_167264_0984_1.JPG

Summary:

The action begins two years ago, in an opulent mansion somewhere on Jekyll Island. Wearing formal attire, a glucose IV and a tracheotomy incision, eightysomething patriarch Earl King pilots his electric wheelchair into his office, where his adult sons Francis and Tyler wait. Ignoring them, Earl addresses Rene Valmont, asking for the tally, just as the clock strikes midnight. Loading one bullet into an antique Schofield revolver, Valmont reports that Tyler's bids total $67,800,000, while Francis has $67,400,000 - since a payment of $1.8 million didn't arrive before the midnight deadline. When Earl urges his boys to "get on with it," a fuming Francis swigs one last sip of fine scotch before putting the gun to his head and pulling the trigger. Lucky for him this unusual game of Russian roulette has spared his life... until the next round must be played.

This thread is absolutely BLISTERED with spoilers. You should probably mark it as such. 👍

Didn't even think about that. Thanks!

edit: I originally put the warning in the title but I think it will look better if I take that out and put the warning right after the Blacklist logo in the OP.

New episode of The Blacklist tonight. :D:D:D Will anyone else be watching? The previews look exciting, to say the least.

It's on the TiVo but as I always watch it with my wife, despite being home sick, I shall refrain.

I fell asleep before it came on last night so I missed it too. :( Watching it as soon as I get home.

Love this Show

I'm glad it's not just me and TB here that watch it, then!

Just curious, what do you think of Tom? I thought at first that he was being framed but seeing the previews for this coming up episode makes me believe he actually works for someone. It's quite obvious that Jolene works for someone (you could see that from the moment she was introduced) but for who?

People keep talking about when Tom said it was his job to be in love with Liz, but I didn't think anything of it at first, since people are always saying things like "It's my job to be a mom" and what have you, but then I thought that maybe he actually meant it was his job. This goes back to my first question about whether or not Tom is being framed or if he's just making it out to be that way.

Anyways, you have great taste in television! :D

Wow, just wow. @EdRattlehead Have you seen the latest episode? That was amazing.
SPOILER: DON'T GO ON IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LATEST EPISODE

-----------------------------------------------------

It is now official that Tom is working for someone. For whom? Who knows. I'll miss Jolene (even though I didn't trust her) and I'll definitely miss the Cowboy. :(:(:( I was hoping he'd put up more of a fight before just being executed by Tom. I'll also miss Audrey, because she seemed like she could've been one of the few people on the show that actually told the truth. Ressler apparently wasn't as honest as he appeared to be, but not to the point where you would get mad at him. You can tell he loved Audrey. Pretty much the only thing he had. He had her taken away twice and this time is permanent.

Anyways, enough rambling. That was a hell of an episode. The preview for next week's episode looks SUPER exciting, too. It looks like Liz is going to get some truth on Tom.

That was a great episode last night. I couldn't hear half of it because of our dogs barking and people talking, but it was still enjoyable.

Spoilers:

Im just going to talk about stuff significant to the story, not about the Blacklister, except the next line.

The blacklister was a kid, which is a nice deviation from the normal big scary bad guys that the show usually has. (not that anything is wrong with them)

--

Great news! We see Mr. Kaplan again! She found the bodies of Jolene and The Cowboy.

Liz is either giving Tom a toy or explaining what a certain toy is. Either way, it is meant to be for Tom's 4th grade students and will be significant later in the episode.

Liz found Tom's "hideout" by looking at Jolene's phone records, and Tom quickly destroyed his evidence. Liz unknowingly got right up next to him, and he punched her in the face and took off. That I did not expect.

Stuff happens and Liz is home looking at case files and pictures of Tom's hideout (she still doesn't know Tom has anything to do with it), and she comes across a picture of a trash can. Inside the trash can she sees the toy she gave/explained to Tom at the beginning of the episode and she realizes that Tom was the one in the hideout.

Liz goes to Red, and she has a huge sudden realization moment and breaks down crying.

--

Also, I will update the OP tonight.

--

OP HAS BEEN UPDATED, and the toy I was talking about was an Uncle Flippo flashlight that Liz gave to Tom.

Catchy show with some likeable characters, however production is surprisingly quite cheap at times and easy to pick holes in. Red is the only really convincing (reoccurring) actor/character but I suppose mysterious-guy-in-hat is an easier part to play.

One thing really disappoint me about this show, the music is terrible. Make sure if you watch the show, don't listen to the background music, it's really the same bland beat/melody played over and over.

Still, it's a show to watch, also SHIELD comes on after it...

Cool to see however that down here, we are not far behind in episodes (maybe a week or something), I can be on this thread and not see any spoilers.

I can't wait until Monday night next week. Have you guys seen the promo for the new Blacklist episode? I love and hate these hiatuses they have every now and then at the exciting points in the series.

New episode tonight! I can't wait!

SPOILER

I heard something about a major death. If it's true, I can't think of who it'd be. :)

Here is the promo for (hopefully next week's, and not 3 weeks) episode.

Looks pretty good! I'm guessing the end is about what Red does in General Ludd, but I don't know.

Wow, that was a great episode! The promo for next week looks very exciting, too. I'll link it tomorrow, it's not online yet.

Well the season is over :(....but what an ending!

Spoilers:

...

...

...

...

I'll start off by saying that I'm going to really miss Meera Malik. :(

BL_Meera_Profile.jpg

I really liked her and it was hard seeing her die the way she did, even if she is just a character.

Harold Cooper got what I thought was barbed wire in his neck in an assassination attempt (by the same people who killed Meera) but by the end of the episode it appears that he'll live, but we won't know until next season.

Tom got shot and killed by Liz....or did he? He appeared to die after Liz shot him 3 times but later when the FBI raids the place where he was shot (and the fake Berlin character was killed by Red), Tom was gone, so he must have faked his death so he could escape.

What else? (Don't forget this may not be in order if it matters to you) The real "Berlin" is out and about now after he was mistaken as a prison transport guard who had his hand cut off by the "fake Berlin", but the real Berlin was the one who cut his own hand off.

One of the most interesting parts of the episode is at the very end when Red gets to his safehouse (or whatever term you wish to use) and takes his shirt off. You can see old burns on his back, meaning that he must have something to do with the fire that Liz was in when she was a little girl (and possibly her father, but some say timelines don't add up for that). edit: I forgot to add in that Tom this to Liz before he "died": "Your father is still alive."

I guess that's all I can think of, and I'll update the OP later. New season starts in the fall.

Seen all of Series 1 and up to episode 8 of series 2 and it is amazing

Spoiler Warnings Ahead!

The first episode was great, especially when Red just walks into the FBI and turns himself in. Through the first series I started to see which characters I liked and what ones I didn't. By the end of series 1 I liked Elizabeth Keen, Harold Cooper, Donald Ressler, Aram Mojtabai and Meera Malik (Even though (MASSIVE SPOILER!) she dies in the final episode of series 1. I am mixed with Red because I don't like him because he kills so many people yet I like him because his character is so interesting. By the end of series 1 I didn't like Dembe Zuma, Luli Zheng and Berlin.

By the episode 8 of series 2 I still liked Keen, Ressler, Mojtabai and Malik however I started to like Red, Dembe and Berlin.

Currently I am thouroughly enjoying the show and can't wait for the next episode.

Edit: I am starting to get the impression that Elizabeth Keen could be Reddington's daughter. It is very much a possibility, as Berlin thought his daughter was dead yet his was alive so maybe, just maybe Red is Keen's father. Would explain why he went to the FBI when Keen had her first day and how he knew she would be on the Task Force

Just updated the OP to the current episode, which took me at least 6 hours, so appreciate it, and I also separated the seasons into spoilers and put the cast in its own spoiler. I still need to work on the cast list but for the most part the OP is up to date.

Anyways, how about that episode last night? It was pretty good.
