Not horrible but not good either. But the car is fun, and that's the whole point right?

Yup. That's the point…though speed is nice to have. Especially when you consider the MR2 that, should your car go through, you'd have to race.

You know my car, the X2013, 90's version :sly: Btw, that was with 192 hp, it's running 200 now.

I think with what the car is, it's probably not going to go much faster. And I refuse to use a custom transmission.

8hp doesn't do much, really. :p Well actually, in the 200 class, it might…I think.

It has everything, except a cure for understeer and snap oversteer lol. I will try to fix it before the deadline.

Hmm…at 200hp, there might not be any real benefit, to be honest. We just use it because we firmly believe that we can get our cars to pull that 0.0000000001 second difference if we made the gears work our way.

Of course I just downloaded the track tonight and that time was set after ~5 laps or so but I can get custom tracks down pretty quickly. The "official testers" might know some tricks to get the car to go faster than I can around there though.

So I'm debating wether to use the easy to drive High RPM Turbo with only about 142ft-lb torque, or go all out with the Mid RPM Turbo and its very peaky power curve but outrageous torque in my "Pocket Monster T200 Edition".:D

I won't give up that easily! Imagine if both our cars fight it off in the finals!
Hey JC look at the OP in my garage...
The "Pocket Monster" is my personal flagship...
Just so your warned!:crazy::lol:

Just foreshadowing, put me down for the next T300 & MAX episodes, as I've already begun theorizing my next 300 car and I might do an LF A for max.

Also, just something to keep in mind, Kei cars would only be competitive against other Kei cars at Akina. Remember, you'll be pit against an MR2.

Well, the cars are limited to 200hp, so the weight difference has a bigger impact. It's, what, 700kg vs 850kg or something? And the car they're referring to is arguably the fastest of the Kei cars, so this might just tip the scales in the Kei car's favour. Might.

I've got the same HP, I've got the same tires, with a Mid RPM Range Turbo I've probably got more torque and as Onboy points out my "Pocket Monster" is lighter than the MR2.

The Cuore/Mira and Copens are the fastest Kei cars in the game when allowed to run near their full potential which the 200 class does. Their only real disadvantage is the FF layout and weight distribution. If the Beat or AZ-1 could make the same sort of power they would be raining on everyone's parade...

I know a think or two about Akina, and the two key areas where the Kei cars will meet their demise are uphill corners. The wide esses after the snaking downhill esses and the double-apex before checkpoint 3, where torque and stability are necessary to keep up and/or overtake. Both corners which are part of Sector 3.

That being said, which sector(s) will we be running for Season 2?

With the Mid RPM Turbo I'm making 204ft-lbs of torque...:D
Once I get it dialed in the car should be plenty stable as well, yet retain its playful side that scares Onboy so much.

I'm still trying to tune out the mild understeer at high speed corners, but uphills are not a problem

Uh…hmmm. This is actually worrying interesting. If we're going to get a bit anal about the cars and engine specs, the MR2 has…I'd wager around 150lb-ft torques in its current spec? I'm not sure, but I'd guess that much since my one with 230+hp has 199 torques, so it can't be that much at 200hp. The Kei car in question with the Mid-RPM turbo has 200lb-ft of torque. Which, you know, is more. And it arrives bang in the middle of the power band, so it gets to use all its power quicker…which should help it haul ass out of corners.

But then again, sector 2 only really needs torque for the start and finish, which are both uphills…I think. I'm actually looking forward to these shoeboxes beating the MR2. 5 paint chip bet on which car wins?

I'm down to wager against the Kei cars, 5 paint chips it is!

Even though you get all that torque right in the middle of the rev range, how much of it is usable with those skinny economic tires? And fast revving as those Kei engines are, you'll be out of the torque band before you're out of the corner. Good luck not spinning those rubber band tires in the heat of battle

Damn…that might have been a bit too much. Alright then, let's do this!

I just have the image of the Kei car going "Braaaapapapappapapppp!!!!", screaming hell out of the exhaust…but not going anywhere. Don't worry, I think XD's got the gearbox covered. I think.

Don't make me lose my paints Desperado.

Don't worry, all hope is not yet lost. It'll be down to the gearing for sure. Aren't Kei cars running 3-cylinder engines as well? Damn, the odds are stacking against the shoebox!

I'll just say ahead of time, I want 4 BMW paint chips, reds and yellows, and Mushroom (not sure which manufacturer).

Let the games begin!!
