For a new game Straight4 would presumably have to do the same, though they’d need to go to EA now

Would Ian go back to EA to subsidise what was effectively his own engine though? I recall it didn't end well between SMS and EA after Shift 2.

And it didn't end well the second time either. :P I would love to be a fly on the wall during that negotiation process if that ever happens. :lol:

I'm pretty sure he stated in a video before EA bought them he set the engine as an asset of an external company they couldn't have control of.

It was, he told all about it when he party-crashed some dude streaming. Those were the days. :lol: He is not afraid to engage folks directly. :)
