yeah i'm playing with (simulation mode) no assists on as well. except i use autoclutch since i only have 2 pedals :p
i feel like the cars arent dramatic enough. i am bouncing around quite a bit but there is very little drama at all when cornering. There is a big discussion going on over at rscnet over the tire slip angles being wrong.

i think i might just pre-order lfs-s3 instead :p or maybe put my money towards g25. :p i dont wanna give simbin any money untill they stop using that ancient ISI engine.
 
I ordered it along with a G25 from Amazon and it won't be shipped until Sept. 30 to Oct. 11! :angry:
 
Did anybody else have problems with shifting? I can't seem to put the car in gear at all with a DFP. Control panel shows that the shifter works. I haven't found anybody else having this problem on rscnet yet.
 
Ugh, I feel really stupid. I had checked "Shift with wheel" or whatever under mouse controls. I thought it meant to use the shifter on the DFP. :dunce:
 
Can someone do me a favor?

I need the Viper Compition Coupe folder from a clean install.
I improperly installed a mod and screwed mine up.

I really don't feel like reinstalling the whole game over it, and I can't just get the file from the disk... so yea.


the location should be C:\GTR2\GameData\Teams\24H\Viper Competition Coupe Teams

Just zip/rar/ace that folder, and PM me with a link to it.

Edit: Nevermind, reinstalled anyway.


Aparently the uninstaller doesn't get rid of mods... but the installer does.

Oh well I have to download every single mod I had again. Which was nearly every single one released. :irked:
 
Running this on the new computer, and such a smooth run I had on the demo tonight (have not installed the full game yet). Complete full settings.

Finished 2nd in my Lamborghini.

BTW guys, check this mod out. Won't be done for a long time, but looking spectacular. Zonda, McLaren, Spyker, Bentley, and more.

Was wondering if anyone else has this problem. My motec display only shows the rev meter. how do i show the lap times and gear your in on the dispay. I turned "visitable motec" on and off and still it only shows the rev meter.
 
There should be a button you can set to cycle through the display modes.
 
ok, I took your advive liveforspeed but it didn't work. its set to 3 on defualt I got to the game and press it and nothing happens. I change it to a different button and still nothing. i'm starting to think i got a defective game:grumpy: :nervous:

do you mean the motec display? because there is. which mean..s you probably dont mean the motec display lol:dunce:

the motec operates as the real car uses it. if the real car has alot of options for motec, then the one ingame will.. if the real car doesnt use motec... the one ingame wont either,.

anyways get LFS :p
 
Here a question, it'sa general one regarding mods, I've seen a lot of people playing gaems like RFactor, GTR, GTL ect but using the cars from other gaems. For example theres a guy with GTL and RFactor and he has all the GTL cars in RFactor as well as the RFactor cars and other mods. How do people do that? I know you can't launch these cars as mods because then people who don't own GTL will be getting GTL content and that's a serious breach of copyright laws, but if you own both games how would you convert GTL cars to work in RFactor?
 
true true it is illegal. there are means of obtaining official tracks from gtl and putting them in gtr2. and vice versa. or also from rfactor. some cars have encrypted files that make them almost impossible to bring over from one game to another game.
 
Imo RFactors the best overall game, LFS has the best physics, but RFactors are brilliant too and the variety of the mods and available tracks for RFactor is simply amazing. I just really wish it had the wind noise that LFS has. LFS is definitely the most intense though, but there's going to be a while before any mods are going to be getting done for it. They're only making the modding tools available after S3 is released.
 
Hey would you guys recomend this game to me? I love racing sims and this game looks really sick. I only have 512mb of ram right now and an onboard video card. Ill be getting 1gb of ram soon and a 512mb Video card. Will this be enough to run this game with the best graphics?

Is this guy fun? I have the Logitech driving force wheel (blue GT3 wheel) will it work with GTR2? or will i have to buy another one?

Imo it would depend on what mods get done for it, I already have GTR and there's tonnes of mods for that game. I have GTL too but there's very few mods for GTL, if there's not many mods for GTR2 I'd probably reccomend buying the first one instead. From what I've played of GTR2 there isn't a big difference in the way the two games feel. Live for speed is the top dog when it comes to proper simulation as it stands, GTR and RFactor are close when it comes to the mod community though RFactor will continue to be supported long after GTR I think.
 
I'm playing GTR2 on a computer with s-video into my TV. The font size is a bit too small to read on the TV. Is there a mod that allows you to modify the font size throughout the game menus and in-game?
